The community votes irks me a little
So many voted for Garden of Joy and The Game... god please have mercy

And Ormond as well...oh man help me.
They are going to have some insane survivor queue times if they actually increase the odds of being sent to some of those maps for an event. I feel like this is going to backfire.

After announcing a future system that will prevent us from going to the same maps over and over again we are going to be in an event where we play the same maps over and over again. Love it. Hello dead dawg, Ormond, and coal tower.
12 -
Yeah. This will probably be a rough time. Ormond is still better than Eyrie though and at least it didn't look like Garden of Pain was getting too many votes, so that's something I guess.
1 -
This isn't fair at all when you take into consideration that (on average) there are 4 survivors to every killer, so of course the vote would skew in their favor.
Prepare for no killers to play for this period.
19 -
Proud voter of The Game ☺️
3 -
Wouldn’t it be cool if instead of voting for the maps we wanted to play more frequently, we could vote maps we didn’t want to play during the event?
Goodbye Badham, RPD and Borgo
16 -
I want to play on Shattered Square! There's a god pallet every five feet and you can see the killer from a mile away for maximum holding W! Can't catch me!!!
6 -
If you keep getting maps you don't like, that will be the time to use map offerings. I never use them apart from the time when Wesker was released and RPD split in two, so every other game was on there. Hate that map with a passion! Barely made a dent in my map offering supply and have even more now for similar situations.

Literally.
Map is awful.

Admittedly I checked back when it was still new, but weren't Coal Tower and DDS the other 2 leaders ahead of Ormond? Like admittedly Ormond isn't great but Coal Tower is like seen by many as the most balanced dbd map (and DDS depends massively who you ask 🕳️👩🏻🦯)
Have the rankings changed massively or..?
0 -
Pretty much all the newer maps and reworked are highly questionable. Most have an extremely strong buildings for escaping chases or are highly likely to spawn pallets very close to each other. Some are ridiculous and that's coming from someone that play survivor almost exclusively. Maps need to be more balanced like older ones.
2 -
So I just went back to look to see if the top choices had changed since I last saw and the current leaders are Cowl Tower, Dead Dawg and Ormond.
I think most people are totally fine with Coal Tower and Dead Dawg (myself included, as killer or survivor), those are two very balanced maps in my opinion.
However Ormond, while better post rework, is still extremely bad for most killers. There are many worse maps don't get me wrong, but it is still very much up there in terms of being very unbalanced. It's still just way too large for most m1 killers.
1 -
This system will only prevent us from getting the same maps twice in a row. That doesn't mean that you will only get GoJ once per day. You can still get it every 2 games
0 -
It doesn't surprise me though. GoJ is heavily survivor sided with the amount of pallets you can chain together and a ridiculous main building so is it really shocking that a good amount of survivor mains would vote for this map. The Game also favors a good amount of killers despite the amount of pallets so many killer mains that main a killer that thrives on this map would love to play on this map more. Honestly I'm fine with Ormond, Coal Tower and DDS being more often in the map rotations.

It do be like that...

I really wanted midwich but I'll take what looks like is going to win too, weird how ormond went from a meh map to now it seems like the most popular map in the game.
1 -
Proud voter of garden of joy 😊
1 -
Midwich was actually my vote as well. I think that's actually my favorite map as survivor and killer even though most people hate it.
To me I feel like many maps layouts and tile settings are all nearly identical and just reskins. Midwich with its layers actually plays out differently and gives it more depth while actually feeling like a different map.
I also find it to be one of the more balanced maps as well. There isn't an abusable main building, loops feel like actually a fair 50/50, pallets don't feel excessive, the map isn't too big and you can't see each other a mile away so hold W isn't as encouraged.
Bonus for being a good map for quite a few of the weaker killers as well.
3 -
I know exactly how this is going to go.
I'll log in hoping to have a lot of fun and get three Starstruck Nurses send me and my random SoloQ team to Midwich.
Then I switch to Killer and bury my hand in my face as very experienced survivors teabag after every single one of the 217 pallets on Game, while I just wanted to play Pig, Trapper, Wraith etc.
1 -
If it's any consolation I voted for the Chapel asylum map.
0 -
assuming survivor playerbase is way larger than killer and said maps favor survivor i think it's expected..That being said i think the problem is maps heavily influence the outcome of the game and that should be a thing,,In my mind most maps should be the size of coal tower or a tiny bit bigger to allow all killers a good chance
0 -
I mean, I voted for Garden Of Joy because I like it's aesthetic and I can kinda handle that map with my main. But Ormond and Dead Dawg are gonna be problems. I can already tell this event is gonna be bad.
2 -
The page that featured Ormond had many survivor sided maps though, Badham, erie of crows, torment creek, cowshed, garden of Joy.
I think Gas heaven or rancid abattoir might have been more balanced choices, but the starting point was already not great.
1 -
That's a fair point. However since the Eyrie rework, while still unbalanced, it's not that bad and definitely would have been one of the more fair choices in that list by far.

I love Midwich and RPD. 👍️ Two best maps in my opinion and I always look for map offerings on them both as Survivor and Killer. I wish they had an Indoor Map Mode with 24/7 Midwich and RPD. That way I wouldn't have to waste thousands of Bloodpoints for the offerings.
1 -
I think there's a lot more people that dislike indoor maps compared to outdoor maps but I think it more so stems from most the outdoor maps being much, much less balanced for all the reasons I mentioned previously and people like having all their unfair advantages. Indoor maps are generally speaking some of the most balanced maps.

I just voted and these were the top 3:
Vote 1: Coal Tower - 13%
Vote 2: Dead Dawg - 28%
Vote 3: Ormond - 27%
Arguably the best Killer map in the game is #1. So ya'll Killer mains need to relax lol
2 -
Honestly, Ormond makes me feel like equipping Eruption to maintain my sanity even though I hate that perk. I just hate Ormond more.
1 -
I dislike them because there's too many doorways.
0 -
I dunno.
Lately I've been trying to play the whole roster for variety, but if The Game has higher odds then I might just stick to my main bae Nurse during the event. The vote cuts both ways.
0 -
As a killer main, somehow I don't dislike ormond at all. I actually enjoy my games there consistently.
I'm curious as to why people seem to hate it
2 -
I don't have a huge issue with Ormond.
I have massive issues with Dead Dawg being unplayable until you kick 6 walls.
I like Coal Tower.
2 -
Dead Dawg isn't a bad survivor map though. It's quite playable for good survivors.
Whereas you look at something like Garden, Borgo, Springwood, Ormond and for most of the killer roster they're hardly playable. Your chance of winning is hoping they're bad or tunneling someone out fast.
0 -
While you all might hate this I’m actually happy this is happening cause like 85% of my survivor and killer matches have been RPD nonstop and I’m ready to lose my ######### mind
0 -
Looking forward to playing the most pleasant map in the whole game, aka Dead Dawg =D
0 -
If that were the case Dead Dog wouldn't be one of the ones winning.
2 -
If you picked those killers you knew the moment you face good players or an unbalanced map you were going to lose, it was on you, make a better pick to avoid those situations.
0 -
Nope, just checked, they're the same 3 in the lead with minor percent differences
0 -
loving when BHVR already knows that most of the playerbase are survivors and as survivor why not choosing the maps that they feel confortable to play the most? we should care about the killer having "fun" guess NO because once again Ormond is gonna be frecuent and dear lord that map is awful.
now Dead dawg is just breaking walls simulator as killer...idk how do people enjoy this map like at all...if the killer wants to play scummy they can also set a 3 gen on the big open deadzone field that has 3 gens all the time within 20 meters.
"Arguably the best Killer map in the game is #1" coal tower has RNG sindrome , where most of the times is insanely survivors sided because of the connected tiles and the smaller map size but in the other hand... pretty rare but can happen ... killer sided because RNG wanted to spawn double windows and 4 lines loops over and over....
but honestly if we are talking about average...the map is survivor sided...(only way to win on Coal tower is a 3 gen against decent people otherwise you are gonna be breaking pallet after pallet untill all the gens are done)
*BHVR: talks about a way for preventing people to going to the same realms over and over again..*
also BHVR: *makes a event based on making people getting the same realms that they voted over and over again*
thank god i have a lot of map offerings...thanks BHVR...am gonna be soo happy to burn other realms non-stop instead of BP offerings..🤤

Oh joy. So glad DDS is going to win this event for the third time in a row because apparently we don't see that map enough.
1 -
After seeing ormond won the vote, I am scared even thinking about boil over...
I do not want any more unhookable players 😑
1 -
bigger map / main building has 3 god pallets (counting the one closer when going outside) + 2 god windows that force you to break 2 walls each time + gens are really good spread out / early game preassure its impossible without a high mobility killer or corrupt / easy to chain loops like really easy + most of the loops are pretty solid....and thats not even taking perks like boil over + breakdown in mind...
0 -
I'm not a fan of either. I can't remember what I voted for, I think one of the Coldwind maps
0 -
i do not like elementary school. its one of the maps where hold-w is highly encouraged because of long hallways. The killer that have kits to counter hold-w strategies are really oppressive on the map because your forced to do it to get optimal results and the killer that suck vs it have a very boring hold-w generator simulator match if your opponent understands the heartbeat mechanic. I would say its feast or famine type map.
Given 4vs1 ratio on votes for survivor. Shouldn't survivor just pick garden of joy automatically? that should be an easy auto win map for survivor. I wonder how many killer players would be brave enough to play on garden of joy. we might get some very long queues with that as map choice. That would be kinda funny.
0 -
I guess its time to use my map offers when these player chosen maps come to pass. I don't normally use map offers but ill make an exception in this case.
- I voted for Sheltered woods, Thompson House and Groaning storehouse.
0 -
Bye? 😥
0 -
Isn’t the Saloon a map with some of the highest kill rates? And Coal Tower is kind of up there (as far as being good for killers, like all the MacMillan maps are) too.
0 -
Oh so that's why i've gotten nothing but those two god-awful maps every Knight match i've played last week
0 -
It is, but it’s also one of the most balanced maps. A lot of the other ones are just very unbalanced.
0 -
I voted for Ormond only because all the rest of the options in that batch were boring. Also Ormond isn't that bad for killers to be fair, I don't understand all the hate for it.
