The title of the game is "Dead By Daylight" not "Alive By Sunrise"
I think there are a lot of survivor mains who get confused, so I'm attempting to reinforce this fact. No, you are not supposed to escape every time you play the game. Yes, the odds are supposed to be stacked against you. Mic drop.

Most survs can't even escape 40% of the time let alone all the time.
I am sure they are very well aware.

So the title of the game is accurate and well chosen, then. And 40% is pretty good. That means in any given match one to two survivors out of four actually escape. Feel proud when you do.
1 -
There is nothing to feel proud of when you kill or escape in most cases considering how dbd is. Escaping or killing doesn't always mean I did good.
But that's different topic.
Let's stick to us vs them which you guys excel at. Or not me because I can barely stand forums these days. Guess the reason. Or not, I don't care really.
10 -
I mean, yeah, but a 40% survival rate also means killers don't 4k every game.
8 -
Likewise, killers aren't going to 4K every game and don't get too complacent stomping SoloQ that when a SWF suddenly gives you the tiniest challenge the game is "unfair."

Damn, got'em bro. First time I've ever seen this take.

Yes, the odds are supposed to be stacked against you.
No. The odds are supposed to be even. Otherwise, this becomes a single-player game using humans as glorified NPCs.
And get the mic up from the floor and put it away properly.
16 -
I play both evenly.

Nope. Cuz then the title would be "Maybe Dead, Maybe Alive By Daylight", not "Dead By Daylight". Mic stays on the floor.

"But [title of game]!" might just be the only take that can overtake "but realism!" for sheer pointlessness.
7 -
Marvelous. You must be a genius. But you should put that under feedback. The devs dont understand that with this title only a 100% killrate is ok.
We even have maps where we spawn in at daytime. And the survivor spawn alive! Grotesque.
9 -
60% kill rate sounds nice on paper but really what should matter is the hook count. If killers gets 2K with 4 hooks was the match really balanced? Hook count should be at least on average 7-8 per match maybe more.
1 -
Ok but also this is a game thats meant to be fun for everyone
You're not meant to get a 4k every game either
1 -
And the role is called "survivor" not "punching-bag-victims", killers aren't supposed to 4K every game either.
9 -
60% is fine for kill rates because they provide buffer to account for hook suicides that doom an entire team and (somewhat) survivors that needlessly die in EGC trying to save a mate when they could have just left. Sub 50% kill rates would be a massive problem imo

Lol, everytime? I escaped couple of times in january although I play almost every day. Very funny xD

Member of the 4K at all costs crew? Legit.

Translation: you should win purely because you picked to play "killer". No. No you shouldn't just win most games just because. No one should. A "good game" is very close. If you win with 2+ gens left, that was not a close game, that was a blowout. Likewise if all 4 escape with you only getting a few hooks.
This game is already heavily slanted towards killer, that's why they aim for you to win more games than you lose. I almost exclusively play killer now because it's just significantly easier to win and rack in the bloodpoints.

Has the devs ever stated that suicides have tilted the kill rate?
1 -
But if it’s called „Dead by Daylight“ then everyone should stay alive since all maps have a set day/night-time which doesn’t change to daylight at all. Even the daylight maps are excused because the title probably means the very next occurring daylight.
6 -
Oh yeah? Then let me tell you this. Killers aren'T entitled to 4k every game and if you go for 4ks you shouldn't be surprised if you go against tryhard survivors. That's on you. Stop pointing with your finger on one side like this is not a killer main issue as well.
3 -
Let#s make a deal. Survivors will 4 man out on night time maps and killers 4k at day time maps. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

The title of the game has absolutely nothing to do with the balance or fairness of the game. If it did there would be no survivor players since the implication would be you're going to lose almost always playing survivor. Also I don't know why you made this post thinking survivors mains believe they must always escape. What matters is balance and the survivor feeling like they have more than a slight chance in hell of escaping. There are too often situations where things shift too much and too fast into the killer's favor. If 2 survivors get eliminated right away and there are still 3-4 gens up then you're probably not going to escape by opening the door. The gen requirement to power the exit gates should drop as survivors are eliminated. Similar to how it was with the old hatch except it would work towards the door.

Who said anything about 4k? Hahahaha... it's so easy to trigger people. It's a horror game with nods to horror films. In those films, the smartest and most clever person escapes, usually everyone else dies. Getting 4k is nice, but that shouldn't be expected either. What should be an anomaly is all 4 survivors escaping... ever. Basically, the post is in reference to the consistent stream of survivor complaints that the game is too hard and they keep dying and that Behavior needs to tweak it where they start every killer bound in chains to a wall until all 5 gens are popped.

Awww well here is a ferociously cute kitten to make the forums more bearable....

have you even watched an of the movies you are talking about? It’s not about the smartest or most clever, way more than not the final girl gets saved by someone else otherwise they would be dead early on, or they get lucky and others get unlucky.

you know… writing like this it feels like triggering people is what you wanted to do.. which is pretty much trolling and doesn’t contribute anything at all. Many people weren’t even strictly talking about 4K or anything.

i actually don’t see that many complaints by survivor players. And it’s coming just as much from the killer side. Maybe stop generalizing and actually look at all the feedback instead of cherry picking then you realize that plenty of people are giving constructive and valid feedback.
we don’t need further „us vs. them“ threads, this is as much of a problem as those survivor complaints you write about. Don’t let yourself get triggered by the few.

I'm not quite understanding what you mean by "us vs. them"... I play survivor and killer pretty much evenly (as it gets boring playing just one or the other for too long). Also, maybe you haven't read the entire thread, but there are several comments with the same refrain of "4k's shouldn't be happening" which is why I was addressing that. Even from a survivor perspective, I'd rather play thinking that at least one of us out of the four is not going to make it out alive, it makes it much more thrilling. To be honest, I love it when all four make it out when I am playing survivor, but it happened to me 50% of the survivor games I played last night... that's a bit too much, in my opinion.

Us vs them mentality is still very much present in your post, it doesn’t matter if you play both sides.
and literally no one even hinted at something like „4Ks shouldn’t be happening“, read again (and the same goes for the comments there got possibly deleted, there was nothing indicating that at all)
i do agree it would be better if 4 man escapes were rare/rarer, but that’s not what you were talking about in the OP. and the game just isn’t designed that way.
