Why is there only 4% of unhooking yourself?
So basically i came up with an idea today. I was thinking, why is there only 4% of unhooking yourself? I think that the devs should raise it to at least 10%. The reason why i came up with this idea, is because i have played this game for a long time now and i have played a lot of games where the killer where camping basement and i was in there with another survivor. Ofc the other teammates where doing nothing. So its always ending up with me and the teammate trying to unhook ourself, but dying because there is almost no change of unhooking yourself. Hope that the devs will put my idea in the next PTB

Because even a small increase in the probability would be broken. I'm going to show you why. Percentages between parentheses represent the same situation, but with six attempts (granted by Slippery Meat).
4% gives each survivor an 11.5% (21.7%) chance to unhook themselves. With four luck offerings, it's 40.7% (64.9%). With Up The Ante, all survivors alive, and four luck offerings, it's 62.7% (86.1%).
At 10%, it would be 27.1% (46.9%) by default. With four luck offerings, it'd be 52.5% (77.5%). With Up The Ante and four luck offerings, it'd be 71.3% (91.7%).Taking into account the game as the game is now, there is a theoretical 86.1% maximum chance to self-unhook. With your suggestion, just by taking Slippery Meat, a survivor would almost have a 50% chance to self-unhook.
Self-unhook is not supposed to be a guarantee. It's supposed to be a last-ditch, desperate move, one that you only attempt when you're out of options.EDIT: Note that I'm assuming that only one survivor has Up The Ante. I don't know if it stacks with itself, but if it does, then the theoretical maximum will be a whopping 95.3% in the default game and 97.5% with your suggestion. Those are virtual guarantees.

That doesn't sound anywhere close to game breaking to me. Deliverance already gives you a 100% chance to self unhook, why shouldn't the near-useless slippery meat give you a coin flip chance? Your theoretical maximum, where a group collude together to waste 2 perk slots each and ultra rare offerings from everybody for a one time each effect, is fringe enough to be inconsequential. A group working together that tightly can already have a 100% chance of a hook rescue from their teammates, and if they're bad enough that they might actually use 4 self unhooks, they're probably all gonna get caught a second time anyway, so why not let those unicorns have their fun?

You have 3 escape attempts so basically thats 12% chance with the slippery meat perk you have 6 attempts which is basically 24% chance

4% is such a specific number, why not 5%?
