How I would change map offerings (though there is a reason this won't happen)

You probably all have the feeling of not wanting to play the game whenever the killer brings a midwich offering and the survivor a GoJ offerings. It's just not fun to play on maps over and over again that favors the other side quite heavily. And it's also quite obvious that both sides mainly bring offerings to have an easier game. Now what would be my idea to make map offerings less annoying? By making them do the opposite. Rather than increasing the chance to get sent to a realm it should decrease the chance to get sent to a realm. That way no one could use map offerings to get an advantage and you can select which map you want to avoid especially those that are really terrible to play on (I'm looking at you GoJ and Midwich).

But there is a reason this is not happening and that's justified: Achievements. It would take an incredible amount of time until you can get the Outbreak Breakout achievement without the usage of map offerings. So my idea is obviously not going to work in practice. The only really working solution is to keep balancing the maps to make it fair for the other side as well.

I see this suggestion thrown around a lot but I feel like ultimately if map offerings worked that way then they wouldn't really feel impactful/there'd be no real point in them. Guaranteeing you won't get sent to one bad map doesn't mean the game won't just pick a different map that's equally bad (or worse).

The more I've played this game the more I've started feeling that the map offerings should just be removed altogether.

    Yes. Please.

    Remove map offerings.

All I have seen them used for recently is boil over trolling.

Or we can delete map offerings, and admit that it's ok if it takes people longer to earn achievements.

I fully agree with the proposal. It's not the first time it has been made if I recall (maybe by you in fact, I don't remember.)

The achievements being slow to get isn't an issue.

For a long time, the 3-blink-grab Nurse achievement has only been possible with a perk that also disabled going trough wall. Imagine how slow a survivor has to be to get grabbed by a 3-blink Nurse he sees coming for far away.

Or the infamous Evil Incarnate achievement that can be so easily denied.

It has been said several times that if an achievement is at all possible, then it's "fine".

I don't think that I made the proposal in the past, this should be the first time so it might have been someone else. I also think as well that achievements are not too big of a deal - after all, they are still doable. But I'm also aware of people thinking that the requirements for Outbreak Breakout is too much and that's why I'm thinking that it's not going to happen.

I rarely use map offerings. I haven't used one on survivor in ages. I really only use an offering for killer if I have a playstyle that I want to use (mirror Myers), have a pallet challenge to do (Gideon), or need an adept achievement for a weak killer (Midwitch). Other than those rare occurrences I don't touch map offerings. They are too busted and maps have honestly been horribly designed the last couple years. I can't remember the last time a map was created that was fair from the start. Latest maps have something about them that makes it busted for one side. It is one of the big flaws of this game.
