BHVR should take the L and delay the chapter indefinitely

lol they will never do that, look at twins and knight.
They are on a schedule of new content every 3 months regardless of how bad or buggy the dlc is, it will be dropped on the day they said. Blame their higher ups who set this schedule

Testing is what the PTB is for my duderino.

A live service game also needs constant new contents

We all know the PTB is only used the catch egregious bugs and do some very minor number tweaks.
1 -
Yes, that is what testing is.

But it's not the sort of testing I'm saying they should have done. This is 'test our Release Candidate product and do free QC', I'm saying they really ought to have tried to rope in trustworthy players--it's not like they don't have access to them ffs--way earlier in the power design process. Even if they weren't willing to significantly change from this idea, all the massive issues would have been caught straight away.
And it would also give the devs exposure to how the public will play their power before it hits the PTB.

But thats not a PTB, its a closed test build. Like they do Internally.

And that there is a issue..... internally they tested it and thought it was all good to put into the PTB...those were not regular players who play the game from recreational play to competitive play. Heck we have had players suggest good changes to perks and abilities but get ignored and then said perks and abilities get nuked into oblivion.
BHVR dosnt do enough quality testing to see how a chapter will be received by the players because they can't risk leaks to occur, but they do need to read these forums and understand how disappointed we are about her as a whole from design to her God awful walking animation to her very lack luster power.

And? I'm not saying they should've done a half-finished PTB, I'm saying that their closed testing is obviously not up to par, given how many really obvious things they're missing. It doesn't need to be full public testing, they just need to get a little more external input before finalising something and pushing it out the door.
Obvious things like "Survivors shouldn't be told they're being tracked" would easily be picked up if they could get a dozen trusted and reasonably skilled players to try it out and give input.
2 -
Or this trend of telling Survivors the full area of effect of Killer powers allowing them to avoid the area completely or to use the Killers power to it's fullest the Survivors have to interact with it....
6 -
Yeah, thats why you need to do what the Testing is, We have no idea if the version we are playing with isnt already outdated from their internal build. People need to relax imo.

That's asking people to ignore nearly every previous PTB, and all the recent ones. Knight got some add-on changes. Wesker got a hitbox fix. Nothing big or functionally different. What we get in the PTB is within margin of error of the actual release.
It was only, what, Ghostface that actually got a rework from the PTB? And then Twins went from buggy to... still buggy.

I think we’re both agreeing on the same thing here which is this chapter is not an original idea and is quite heavily influenced by Predator/Prey. If it was done well it wouldn’t be as much of an issue because I like Billy for example and he’s apparently ‘Bubba at home’ but other than a chainsaw the similarities between them aren’t as in-your-face obvious as the hints in this chapter are to Predator/Prey. To me the chapter feels like multiple ideas sticky taped together (much like her ‘Predator at home’ weapon is sticky taped to her arm) and feels incomplete, soulless and filler-like.
At the end of the day we don’t know for sure what the deal is and won’t know unless someone from the company explains it. I hope your right that this chapter doesn’t mean we’ll never get a Predator/AVP chapter in the future cuz that would be even more of a reason to hate this chapter lol.
Either way, this is the first chapter I can’t bring myself to buy, see if the next chapter is worth sticking around.

Tbh Spirit has many more similarities with The Grudge

They want that sweet, useless karma on reddit, maybe. Idk ><
Also someone posted the actual base models side by side. They're nothing alike.

no, look, both have eyes! And a nose. Like. clearly it’s the same.
people grasping at stuff like this instead of giving constructive criticism where it’s actually needed are something else

Here's the thing then if they had the normal time line to make this chapter this only looks worse for her
The only way this could be deemed acceptable is if they were working on a massive horror movie for the anniversary (like Jason big or Allen)

How would you nerf pig at this point? Remove her ability to M1? She is dogshit.

I'm genuinely taken aback at how far the backlash has spun out on this chapter. We've gone from the reasonable starting point of this chapter just subjectively being not to the tastes of some people, and somehow we've arrived at people sincerely calling for them not to release it at all and coming up with conspiracy theories about how it's a last-minute replacement for a lost license despite how clearly implausible that is.
This is gonna go down as one of the most insane periods of this game's history, I'm sure of it. Genuinely shocking stuff.
1 -
I mean, a lot of people started from the also reasonable starting point of "this is dismally underpowered and taking the worst elements of several already flawed Killers". It's not that hard to arrive at 'don't release this until it's in a state that won't immediately require reworking'.
It's not like the only reasonable initial position to hold was 'I don't like it'. The power complaints aren't imaginary.
4 -
Yeah, but "the power is weak" doesn't require delaying the release and doesn't explain any of the other insane conclusions people have come to. Like, the reasonable conclusion is "so buff it", it's not as though it needs a ground-up rework or anything.
There are people who do think it needs a ground-up rework, but those tend to be the ones who automatically disregard anything that isn't a chase power anyway.
Even if you think this is the weakest killer power ever in the history of the game (which I would argue it very much isn't), the state this forum has reached is still shockingly exaggerated.
1 -
Eh, I think it could do with being delayed, because I've said in these discussions why I think it needs a rework (it needs more than just numbers tuning for effectiveness without overdoing the 3gen potential, and we won't get more than that in three weeks from PTB release), and it's better to go back, redraw, and bring something actually finished than set out a massively underwhelming power from the get go that might be touched in, like, two years. This isn't even counting how there's inevitably going to be some stupid bug, because it's a video game release.
It's disingenuous to suggest that everyone saying this just wants a chase power.
1 -
I don't see why it needs a rework just to avoid it being too good at 3-gens. It's already only barely better at that than the average killer, and even that is only because of literally one element. So... numbers-buff the other elements, making the power better outside of 3-gens without affecting everywhere else.
Buff her stealth, buff her info (namely by taking info away from survivors), touch her Exposed only very barely, and give her one, maybe two addons basekit. That's not "full rework" level.

Behaviour seens unable to keep up with the 4 chapters a year routine. I wish they took their pace in making new chapters and focus more on balancing the game, changing weaker killers that are already in the game but are never used (Trapper/Clown/Sadako/Etc).
They could make some tweaks to give Adriana some identity, but judging by the leaks, behaviour will just buff her kit a bit and then release
