Things usually quiet down as we get further from the last chapter release. They usually pick up again once the PTB comes out, then again when the new chapter is released. However, it seems that people are so uninterested in this new chapter that they're not bothering to come to the forums to discuss it.
That's actually a really bad sign. Apathy is worse than loud complaints. Complaints would show the playerbase gives a damn and thinks the chapter is salvageable.

I don't like coming here and seeing the same things over and over again... and saying the same things over and over again
So if there are people like me... that could be a reason

This chapter makes or breaks Dead by Daylight. I don't think number changes will do anything to change the mind of dbd players.

It seems like the majority of the forum is here to hear themselves talk rather than actually talk or discuss the game. The only threads that ever get traction are the same complaints over and over again as everyone talks past each other with the same tired points over and over
Now granted, this is a single games forum, even "general" forums run into this issue and they have way more topics to talk about.
I try to help but I only have so many pictures of my cats to share!

There's just not really anything new to talk about. Like i'm not going to waste my time having the same discussion about DH or whatever for the 17th time in a row.

There's just not a whole lot of interesting things going on in DbD at the moment.
Two boring chapters in a row, during the most boring meta we have ever seen.
I'd rather be playing a game where there's something exciting to talk about.
Edit: Things will probably pick back up when the next liscened killer comes out

The forum change to show only 10 threads in "Recent Threads" means a casual glance shows you far fewer topics. So people will check in, scan, and leave. And threads that might have legs fall past the 10 and vanish from sight.
Apparently it's hard-coded into this new forum system, too. So they couldn't change it even if they wanted to.

There's nothing really new with the game. I think people are a bit bored. The meta for the last 9 months or so has been the worst meta I've ever seen in the game, and I've been playing since 2018. Recent chapters have been unexciting. There's nothing to really play for as a vet. I'm just moving an invisible MMR number at this point. Hitting rank 1 for the umpteenth time doesn't really do much for me. I've seen ebbs and flows with content over the years, but it hasn't ever felt this stale. I said before the PTB dropped that the absolute last thing the game needed right now is another zoning 3 gen killer, and we got a zoning 3 gen killer.

To put it harshly, recently it dont feel like feedback is listened to.
Only so many ways you can say "Sadako could do with some buffs" and "twins need QOL changes" before you get sick of it. I understand not doing debated changes but sadako has been out almost a year now and 99.9% of the community agrees she's too weak.
Same can be said with twins QOL, same with Billy QOL, same with wraiths random nerfs, etc etc.

Most fun discussions would just be derailed by people or locked by mods. I’d love to talk about the new SM leaked changes planned for the main game but Devs don’t like it~

Ive pretty much walked away from the game. I don't like the direction the game is going and the BHVR don't seem to care about anything but $$$.
The forums are the same old people crying about the same things over and over and over.

The redesigned forum is hard to stay engaged with.
(And FTR, I could not disagree more about the current meta being worst ever. I don't even think it cracks Top 3 worst, tbh.)

I mean kinda? When I joined this forum a whole different crowd of people used to comment daily, now almost none of them have access to the forums so to speak 💀
Also the discussion points have been the same complaints over and over again, which gets old real fast.

People might be playing less so theres less to talk about.
I dont have any other games I like really, and killer is in such a bad state right now I literally just stay at work longer earning more money. If I am addicted to a game usually I want to come home and play it. DBD is so stale right now id rather just to more overtime.

IMO the only thing that can turn this chapter around is they delay it for a bit, DBD does whatever disney wants to get a deal. We boot up the game the day of SM release, and in the opening cutscene the predator does the mori on her.
SM is dead, the killer is predator.
