Iron Will Is Underrated
Kind of a funny thing to say considering its role not too long ago, but you guys get way too obsessed with the fact that it’s not a complete 100% without realizing how significant 75% noise reduction is. Ambient sounds exist ranging from your killer’s breathing, their own or the survivors’ footsteps, gens, or background noises like the howling winds on Lery’s. These sounds make the quiet grunts of pain very easy to miss, and even if you do hear them and acknowledge that there’s an injured survivor nearby, it’s still very difficult to determine where exactly in the environment they’re coming from. Can’t say “just turn up your volume” either, because when you turn up the volume, you’re not just increasing the volume of the pain noises, but of EVERYTHING. Every ambient noise, loud noise notification, or gen completion also becomes much louder, so unless your goal is to blow your eardrum out, that idea doesn’t help. And I haven’t even mentioned chase music. You’re basically using old Iron Will whenever you’re being chased by the killer with how loud killer music is. The only real weakness of this perk is the fact that it doesn’t function while Exhausted, which effectively limits how you can use it, although this just makes it a perfect companion for the most used perk in the game, you know, the one that you have complete control over when it triggers or not while injured that’s either gonna extend the chase or not, making IW turning off completely worth it for an additional healthstate. Honestly, the only exhaustion perks I wouldn’t run it with would be Sprint Burst and Overcome. If you want to get technical, an additional weakness would be that Stridor basically turns it off, but who tf runs that perk?

I can say I have been goated into believing a survivor has been near me from my own killers breathing which is mainly blights because for some reason one or two or his breathing sounds are basically survivors breathing.

There is no point using a perk that's meant to mute noise if it DOESN'T actually mute noise. I still hear iron wills when I play killer.

Yeah it is underrated. I tried using it a bit more recently and it's actually still quite effective even if it's not as strong as it used to be. But the perk is in a good spot now, it doesn't need any more changes.

75% isn't the problem. The issue is u can't get vaule out of iron will when exhausted. 90% of the time u running some sort exhaustion perk.
sprint burst! killer catch up and hit u...no iron will for u. same thing with overcome, lithe, etc. It cool outside of chase for sneaking around but no where to hide is to common rn.

new iron will sucks.

It's less that Iron Will is bad and more that there's not really any reason to use it over Off the Record, yes it has the condition of being hooked first but it's 80 seconds afterword which is a long time and gives you the full 100% and you can use exhaustion perks with it.

No, it sucks.

I'm sure it's still pretty good, but it was fairly rated even when it was at 100% imo.
Back in the day, I was highkey happy to see Iron Will instead of Adrenaline or another Dead Hard. Only occasionally was it annoying when someone was good with a flashlight and could hide their approach most times. If they just fixed the breathing being silent it would've been fine.

Making it 75% was enough. Double nerf completely killed it for me. Same with Ruin

I don't use it because of the exhaustion change, its limiting and basically forces you to use DH if you want an exhaustion. Besides that its a selfish perk with flaws, now you have better selfish perks or use team perks.
No reason to use a stealth perk that only does 75% of its job and as restrictions on top of that.
I just think it was another case of bhvr overnerfing a perk for sake of it, when people where just asking for the perk to not make you stealthier injured than when you are healthy.

Old Iron Will was indeed busted and needed a nerf but the double nerf was a bit much. Either the 75% -or- the anti-synergy with exhaustion would have been enough.
It is still decent now though, especially vs Spirit.

maybe dont use exhaustion perks then?

There are also killer items that still inflict exhaustion.

May be don't use Iron will then xD
Obvious choice

ah don't use the most powerful perks understand

correct, if you use the powerful perks all the time. Bhvr will nerf them.

But it is way quieter, I have literally stealthed killers even with the 75%; it has also been tested before as spirit as people said now that iron will isn't 100% it can't work on Spirit, but it makes it way harder to know where you are even on Spirit an audio-focused killer. It may not be 100% anymore, but it still is really really good for stealth builds and nonexhaustion builds.

Tell me you didn’t read the post without telling me you didn’t read the post.
Difference is though that Iron Will still functions completely fine as a stealth perk and a way to confuse the killer in chase provided you play a specific one or done use one at all. Ruin doesn’t even work as good regression when it’s only 100% speed and is a Hex.

No I didn't bother to be honest. Stealth overall isn't even worth trying most of the time, atleast not in my surv matches... wish it was though. I really do.

Iron Will is trash. Killer can just turn up their headphones to counter it

I mean, if your goal is to go deaf, then sure.
