Freddy's addons are horrible
That's it, that's the post. His add-ons are terrible, like seriously what were they thinking when they made these. Out of all of Freddy's add-ons only a couple can be considered useful, red paintbrush is the only one that's considered good. His dream pallet add-ons are pretty decent, I prefer dream pallets over snares but snares are usually the more viable option. I don't think pill bottle really does anything but I think it's cool I guess, class photo is okay although not being able to cancel your teleport is a huge downside.
Rest of Freddy's addons are straight up just horrible or useless, pretty sure Freddy has by far the worst add-ons in the game. There's not much of a point to this post I just like complaining.

Agreed, one of the worst killers in the game currently. I think my favorite rework idea was from Seriously Casual on YouTube, he made a video on how he'd rework Freddy and I think it's pretty good.

The only add on I like is the Black Box cause it works really well to force a Blood Warden proc against SWF

At least pyramid head's addon's do stuff, they're bad but at least they technically do stuff.
Most of Freddy's add-ons either do nothing or barely anything, I'd take pyramid head's any day over Freddy's.

Everything about him is so sad. You start with no power and due to Adrenaline being a meta perk you end the game with no power.

Pill Bottle is surprisingly efficient actually. It actually works. But yeah, he def is one of those killers who need their addons (and not only the addons in Freddy's case....) to be looked at.

Bruh Loose Crank is wayyy better than anything Freddy has, and that's an uncommon ☠️

If you’re running loose crank you’re throwing.
any time you use the bound move you’re basically guaranteeing to get looped. Manually vaulting is faster because you don’t get the animation stun. Charging the move causes you to lose bloodlust.
the only time his move is worth using is against two survivors running down a linear path or to smash a survivor into a wall to apply the useless infection ability. Using it to chase is ill advised. But as a gap closer - it’s semi okay. If you’re in a chase a smart survivor is heading for their nearest safe pallet or jungle gym. If you vault anything with your dash it basically means they got away. In an open area like redwoods or the big empty center of macmillan meat factor, autowreckers or even haddonfield and it’s basically resetting the entire chase progression youve made for some infection.
only addons worth using are gold chalice and lion medallion. In my opinion.

Not sure why you are mentioning vaulting so much when loose crank has nothing to do with that. It increases his movement speed between his first and second dash. Which when turning tight corners in loops is extremely helpful.

Freddy has to be the worst killer. snares do do anything useful and that's sad. Most he has is teleport and semi stealth. Over nerfed for sure. All they had to do was make it so if he takes a teleport it would restart the cool down completely

Loose crank is follow up time movement speed. You don’t need it. Vaulting was meantioned because a lot of new weskers fall bait to the survivors fake vault and spam the ability. If you need time between dashes to do something like turn or fix an error or double back then you’re not using the power effectively.

His power isn't weak, so he's probably not gonna get changes any time soon
it's just uninspired, boring to play and not that engaging to go against
His addons all suck, playing addonless freddy is no different to playing with basically any addons apart from the iris - which are serviceable if nothing else.

I've seen some crazy posts here but woah is this not right what-so-ever. Firstly vaulting has literally nothing to do with loose crank anyways but manually vaulting is NOT faster than vaulting with your power. Misinformation. Secondly You can close gaps at long loops an catch survivors and apply infection, saying its useless at loops is crazy! Misinformation again. Thirdly he has one of the best "Infection" and most consistent infection abilities out of all killers. Having hindered in chase is great. Misinformation AGAIN. My goodness!

The problem with Freddy lies with his major rework. Original Freddy was not strong, but he was unique and honestly kind of fun to play. Not so much playing against, because many Freddies relied on Endgame Builds when it is really hard to wake up.
However, the Rework basically killed Freddy. He was stronger, but also really boring to play and way too easy for his strength. Like, I dont mind if Killers are simple, not every Killer has to be Blight-Level when it comes to being hard or easy to play. But if a Killer is simple to play, it is fine if they are not one of the strongest and because of his Slowdown-Potential back then AND because he was super-easy to play, he was one of the best Killers.
And to counter that, they nerfed almost every good Add On he had.
IMO, Freddy can only be saved if they rework him again, bringing him closer to his original state (and in retrospect, I think that adding the teleport back then and some other things would have been enough to buff him to a decent level). But I think that current Freddy can and never will be able to have strong Add Ons anymore.

I agree with everything you've said here, pre-rework Freddy had a very interesting concept that stayed true to the character, it was just that the execution of this concept was awful. Then they reworked him, and as you said it basically killed him.

I was half asleep so I pulled an old man ramble.
the point i was trying to make is here.
But you’re wrong to say that wesker power+recovery animation+vault animation is shorter than base vaulting with bloodlust. The only time it’s faster is if you can guarantee a straight path. Which means you’re closing a gap. Which isn’t the same as using the power to dash - walk faster - dash vault. which is the only reason i could think of where a player would need in between movement speed.
because unlike nurse you can’t attack between dashes. You either have to dash twice or you have to deal with the mini fatigue animation where he recalls uroboros. If you’re using the power correctly the first dash should be the only one you need unless you’re literally just running down a straight tunnel. High level survivors don’t run in a straight path typically and the chance that they wont fast vault a nearby window or pallet when they see you start dashing means that the addon is useless since it’s about the in-between timer. You shouldnt even reach this point in the ability because if you land your first dash the whole animation resets. Because if you miss you’ve essentially reset the chase and given up on bloodlust. The dash 2 part takes 4 seconds to set up and another 3 seconds to recover to full movement speed at rough estimate. That’s basically 1/3rd the time it takes to get .2 movement on bloodlust to travel what? 10 meters or something in a straight path? And we’re not even talking about the whole… what if you walk or delay your second dash etc.
on top of all that - if you run his base perks the ability power for fast vaults doesn’t benefit from superior anatomy. So the only reason left to dash twice is to catch up and then dash around corners by making 45, 60, and 90 degree turns during the in-between. Anything less and you could have just walked the same distance faster since the survivor would still be in front of you.
hindered only applies to fully infected survivors. Meaning either you need to bring an add-on like iri vial or red herb or something because getting to even infect a player is all about your ability to land your power or addons. If you land your power then the survivor should be injured. If you land it but throw the survivor and all you get is the infection then you basically gave the survivor a free health state. That’s non optimal by a far margin. and use of your ability is the only way to apply infection
it’s not like purge where you just vomit on things and leave and then surprise! The survivor is broken. You have to directly hit the survivor. Meaning you’re in a chase already. Meaning you’re walking at 4.6 meters. Your terror radius is 40m. The dash lets you set up a chase or finish a chase. Not curve corners. That’s a meme build for noobs.
Both red paintbrush and black box are better than that
class photo if comboe’d with paintbrush and lethal pursuer and corrupt intervention basically ensures early game dominance
or go the safe route with bitter murmur and discordance or dragon’s grip.
freddy’s pill bottle makes it so survivors wont see you teleport from a distance and lets you bait teleport. Which helps with his stealth gameplay.
swing chains is a sound based addon that amplifies footsteps and makes it easier to tell when someone is nearby just like stridor, but it’s an addon. Jump rope is free stridor for dream world survivors.
blue dress is a great add-on. It combos well with paintbrush and merciless storm or other skillcheck based perks. Same with green dress and wool shirt
nancy’s masterpiece = normally 15% cooldown for survivor increases to 18% for a maximum 72% cooldown. Combo with paint brush or class photo for varying strats based on gen kicking and teleportation.
paint thinner is useless against swf’s who know what pallets are used. same with prototype claws and garden rake.
Unicorn block only works if you force a survivor through the pallet or snare. Same with cat block. Same with Z block. Same with sheep block.
All of these addons except the blocks and pallets are good. You players must just not know how to teleport or keep trying to run kid’s drawing for memes.
hell. Freddy’s dreamworld is basically free ouroboros. Survivors use alarm clocks instead of vaccines.
wesker’s addons are definitely worse.

I use Freddy a decent bit due to my enjoyment of hating myself, Dream pallets are amazing to mindgame survivors and if you combine Remember Me with No Way Out you get a extra 100 seconds in the game. I do believe his noise add-ons should be removed and made into teleport speed add-ons though.

Never said this, I said base vaulting is lowest than power vaulting. Straw man fallacy. Fallacy right off the bat scares me but I can only skim because I'm not reading all of that essay.
But anyways why your comparing the best killer in the game to Wesker is random and has nothing to do with anything.
Yes the use of your ability is the only way to apply infection, that's how the game works? And yes, throwing them gives them infection either forcing them to find a FAS and take time becoming uninfected or become fully infected and be hindered. Also when you throw you have a faster recovery making you easily be able to catch up. How's that giving them a free health state? Also the comparison to plague doesn't make sense since after they become fully infected she becomes a basic m1 killer if they don't cleanse. Wesker has the luxury have having a movement ability to traverse and catch survivors easily.
Also yes you can use power to get around corner then use his second dash to catch survivors, that's the part of the utility of his power, which crank helps with. Based on you not knowing this makes me think your weaker games have gone like GARBAGE and I can see how.
Pill bottle is mediocre at best, his "stealth" game is play is essentially a worse version of Sadako's making this add on very eh.
Jump rope and chains are both ok-ish. mediocre
Nancy's master piece is also very ok-ish, mediocre again considering you lose more and more of your teleportation ability as the game goes on anyways making it terrible.
Blue dress is one of the worst if not the worst rare add-on in the game at the moment. Unless your MMR is rock bottom, survivors aren't missing skill checks at all, maybe once or twice a game at best at high MMR. Terrible add on. Same with all green dress and wool shirt except their some how even more terrible.
Like you said, the rest of his add-ons are terrible.
This leaves a grand total of 3 to 4 add ons which are good at best, the rest Medoicre at best all the way to useless.
No, dream world isn't free uroboros. They aren't even comparable in the first place. How is it free Uroboros? That doesn't make sense. If your trying to refer to Dream snares (Which are terrible), Uroboros does CIRCLES around that. But again it isn't comparable. Don't know what your saying.
Alarm clocks are unlimited and faster than FAS.

dream world: has an add-on that starts you in it, has a mechanic based on a preplaced interaction to escape, adds cooldown reduction to traversal power per affected individual, passive progression, can be applied by performing an attack, gets harder to remove as game progresses, has a slowdown trap ability that can be swapped with an illusion trap through addons, various status states through add-ons.
infection: can be applied by powered attack, has an add-on the starts you in it, traversal option becomes stronger, has a slowdown mechanic, various states through addons.
they’re very similar.
both apply on attacks, both have reversal shrines, both empower the primary ability, both have traversal options. The difference is one is objective based and the other is chase oriented.
and zero of the addons wesker has make up for his inability to apply pressure to objectives. While freddy’s kit has decent chase potential since the game has to balance out for very basic m1 killers to begin with.
we can disagree on this topic, but the true power of freddy is his objective gameplay. And i think it’s obvious by the last 3-4 weeks with the changes to the meta that the majority of the community doesnt ptfo.

I suggested a lot of changes in the past months, unheared.
My changes which would make Freddy a bit more fun:
- Dream Pallets AND Dream Snares Basekit, swapping by tapping CTRL (like Clown swappes his bottles)
- Addon-Pass
- New Status-Effect "Deep Sleep": When a survivor is in the Dreamworld, he falls into the Deep Sleep after 60secs in the current Dreamworld. If you enter the Deep-Sleep-Status-Effect, you suffer from a darker view (like Deep Wound) and a debuff for healing, cleansing and unhooking.
- Cosmetics
- his own Theme

100% needs a rework or at least a massive amount of updates to the add-ons. Even doing the Freddy killer daily is pretty much guaranteeing a loss, even if it's easy to complete.

I think the license for Freddy should be revoked. He's a horror icon and the state he's in is pitiful. The people with the licenses should revoke them for the poor quality licensed characters.

Freddy had strong addons and everything good got nerfed b/c he felt oppressive.
He is the only killer in the game that can take an addon to give him a worse version of his power than he had to start with. The chainsaw limiter doesn't really count because it's the same power nerfed. Dream pallets are a complete joke.
In order for Dream pallets to be viable the game should start with like 3+ pallets removed and automatically replaced with dream pallets.
