One thing I don't understand: charms vs requested cosmetic options

Why is so much time put into making charms, which go unnoticed most of the time, but other customization options that got requested through the years never saw the light of day?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about charms. I think some of them look really cool and a lot of them can be adquired without spending any shards or auric cells (the exception are the ones from the Rift's Premium Track), which is nice. My problem with them is that they're mostly a thing to stare at when you're at the menu. During a match you rarely notice the charms of other players and you may even forget you had your own. You can at least SOMETIMES notice killer charms, but survivor charms? They're so small you can barely see them at the lobby. I think I only ever saw ONE clip of a streamer noticing the charms a survivor was using during gameplay.

Yet, the game gets new charms all the time. But what if some of the time spent making these charms was instead used for customization options that have been asked for a long time, like new mori options or cosmetics that change the look of powers like the Oni's Kanabo or Viktor? Charms were added when the devs wanted to implement new cosmetic options into the game, yet these options were requested for years and never added.

    Counter argument:

seriously though, yeah i agree. Charms are kinda boring. And even other stuff and not only Mori animations and killer powers would be possible and so much more interesting.. like lobby backgrounds, or toggle for specific cosmetic pieces with accessories (backpacks, sunglasses and such) or prestige blood on all cosmetics, or maybe even split up survivor head cosmetics into two pieces (hair/hat and face/makeup/glasses/jewelry), there is so much stuff they could expand on in the cosmetics department. But we got charms. Which are nice. And I really don’t wanna miss my rainbow birb. But. Eh.

Charms are boring but easier and cheaper to made, sadly.

X is the amount of charms I've got.

X is also the amount of charms I've never used. NOT EVEN ONCE.
