The second iteration of 2v8 will be available shortly - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

The whole "killswitching" is a joke and developers don't care about it.

So they disable Dredge for "gamebreaking bug" but keep letting Ormond online without disabling it even tho dozens of video files and reports of players abusing it have been sent via support ticket and I track them in Steam. What does the support page say?

https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408581146516-What-actions-will-result-in-a-temporary-ban-

  • Exploiting bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage

And? I've recorded some abusers, sent videos, they are still playing for several hours every day after the answer of their support stuff and this is their direct quoted answer:

We'll take a look at this and take additional action if needed, but please keep in mind that we will not be able to tell you about the outcome of this report.

And? It's been 4 days since the answer, it's been more than 8 days from a support ticket created before. 2 players were literally playing the game further when video evidences with links to their profiles have been provided.

What's the point of support tickets, reporting if it doesn't work? What's the point of killswitching if developers act like "yeah, that bug is fine".

I don’t even think they’ve fixed the wagon on DDS yet either.

it compares since it ruins the fun for other survivors who don't play with that bug or don't abuse it. It literally turns a match from 4 vs 1 into 3-2 vs 1 because killers also knows they can't reach those and hunt for normal players.

And what about killer side? Once 2 survivors are up there, they can hold the game hostage as long as they want and killer can't do a single thing about it.

It compares since it quickly turnes matches from normal 4 vs 1 into holding the game hostage by making it 3 or even worse - 2 vs 1.

Most killers know they can't reach that side so they turn their asses into those who play normally.

And what about killer side? As soon as 2 survivors get up there, they can hold the game hostage for a killer as long as they want and the only option for killer would be just simple disconnecting. I've seen that once, 2 survivors picked that map offering on purpose, then were staying there for 25+ minutes, I got bored watching all this but killer couldn't do anything and I felt sorry for the killer because of such players.

So if this is about the Ormond thing, then how does it compare to literally not being able to see the killer at all? I'm not saying it shouldn't get looked at but trying to compare it to not being able to see the killer and actually play the game differs from a glitch that a lot of people don't even abuse

You know why? Its because that two problem are not equally prevalent.

I submitted a ticket with video evidence from my side and a ttvs stream showing them use ESP, this was over a week ago, they're still playing.

Killers can actually get up there too, same with the wagon on Dead Dawg. Could be why they've left it until next patch?

Yeah, a surv went up there against me last night...then I also went right up there and hit them in the face.

    Kind of a non-issue imo.

Invisible killers are on slightly different level than stuff like that.

I'm not sure about Ormond but the wagon thing has exised at least since the meta shakeup and it's possible for the killer to get up their from when I did it back then.

As though we aren’t allowed to disagree ? Just quoting a mod doesn’t make you right. I disagree with that whole thing. not insulting the mod but it’s clearly a bias that the killers who could t get up there straight up lose that match but the insist or dredge atleast still had a chance of survivors winning even if slim. No offense to Mandy, but you quoting a mod or dev is pointless. If we all agreed all the time we wouldn’t have 90% of the discussions that happen on here.

come up with your own reply don’t just quote a mod like that’s a magical panacea

Pretty gamebreaking for me when I can’t get on that mound and got held hostage for nearly 20+ minutes. Was I suppose to stop mid match to find a YouTube vid on how to get up there? I didn’t even know until this post there was a way up there while I got teabagged and the person up there kept throwing diversion

game breaking is a relative term and I disagree per that post

killer held hostage on ormond wasn’t game breaking but killer invisible during parts of the match when he already has stealth anyway isnt? Miss me with that. Map should have been killswitched.

Spirit is in The game? Where? I haven't seen her when I play there

    I'm sorry....

Of course everyone is free to disagree, btw I don't moderate...that would be a conflict of interest as I remain unbiased.

However, we do have strict criteria in place and the option to kill switch is never based on whether or not something is killer or survivor sided - hence the mangled issue from a month or so back was not kill switched, that one negatively affected survivors, it just wasn't considered to be game breaking.

Whilst I appreciate you were frustrated with the bug where players could get on top of the rocks in Ormond, as this was something that both sides of the playerbase could do, we did not feel that this fell into the realm of being game breaking (again, as it was something both sides could do with relative ease), and therefore this was not kill swtiched.

Ye because climbing a rock wich the killer can also do and dealing with an invisible killer are very conparable things indeed

It's like when all female survivors made no fall noise a while back. They're not gonna kill-swtch all female survivors are they?

The main difference between the 2 is the nurse bug could happen to anyone, it was unilateral and could theoretically happen every match if the criteria was met.

The twins issue was very different as some people would experience the issue constantly, and could therefore choose not to use them, while others were completely unaffected I did my own testing and was at over 200 matches with no gamebreaking issues while everyone was on the forum calling for the killswitch.

This game needs to be ( and this would be a massive job but help in the long run ) remade from the ground up.

They dont touch something, and it breaks. This isnt a real example but its more to show what its like - huntress gets adjusted, somehow twins breaks. Survivor perk rework breaks a map. Stupid things that shouldnt happen.

Literally in the news headlines it says " Bug patch notes " and without scrolling you can see " Merciless storm killswitched "

Id love a complete remake on unreal engine 5. Even more a DBD 2 where everything carries over and is xbox series / ps5 / pc only, but that would require all the licencing to be re negotated.

They wanted to remove Nurse before the next patch that had changes to her power. It would of been very easy to avoid grabbing survivors once you knew. The same cannot be said about the Twins bug.

The Rock glitch on Ormond or the Bagon on DDS helps Survivors so yeah they are Not Fixing it

The Devs only cares about Survivors

It's not a problem of "devs are survivor sided". It's another problem. Mandy clearly said "we didn't disable the maps because even the killer can get on those spots". What if the killer doesn't know how to get on those spots?

  • Chaos999
    Chaos999 Member Posts: 869

This is actually an incorrect statement, which is also why the problem isn't considered game breaking.

The ormond bug does not only affect killers (neither the wagon). Both survivor and killers can get up there, so if a survivor gets cute and does this, you can just follow after them and hit them.

Honestly it's more of party trick than an exploit.

  • Xernoton
    Xernoton Member Posts: 5,822

Nurse was still playable though. You didn't grab a survivor and you were fine.

Twins on the other hand were bugged for 2 months and literally unplayable for a lot of players as the bug would trigger every single game. You could also involuntarily hold a survivor hostage when opening a locker while bugged. I had that once and the poor Meg could not wiggle off. Even blinding me didn't work.

  • kingcarl2012
    kingcarl2012 Member Posts: 1,710

And if you were affected by the twins issues you could just play another killer instead.

Its much easier to accidentally go for a grab than to accidentally choose a killer that is having issues once you know its having issues.

  • Xernoton
    Xernoton Member Posts: 5,822

Funnily enough, BHVR gave no warning about the Twins bug and they even claimed they fixed the issue, only to then realize it wasn't fixed at all. Not killswitching Twins was the wrong decision. Period.

Looks like we'll just have to agree to disagree. As someone who had no issue I'm obviously going to have a different opinion that someone who was affected. However I still maintain, not killswitching them was the right descision. period.
