New Killer Idea, Power and Perks of The REAPER/Grim Reaper/Greaper
The Grim Reaper/Reaper or maybe even the yellow-eyed demon from Supernatural, or other death-like killers. With Dean and Sam as the survivors, maybe? Imagine...
The new killer power will be to take a survivor's soul and torture it in the basement that will appear like a fire pit (not sure if BHVR would make a new map or way of showing a soul to burn like a fire pit so...) to BURN even if the survivor themselves are not physically there.
The Grim Reaper floats and has the usual scythe with a CREEPY ominous and haunting sound and the screams of the souls it's already captured, and its face could either be shrouded in the darkness of the hood or have glowing eyes within the hood or simply be a skull with faint images of tormented people in pain sliding over the skull.
Survivors cannot escape without their souls and will automatically die if the meter for their souls gets depleted. The killer can ONLY torture a soul in the basement and has to physically travel to the basement (which he will be able to see) to deliver it there. When the Reaper captures a soul the world changes to a creepy realm overwhelmed by fire, but generators are still visible and survivors with souls can still be seen working on them. Once the Reaper delivers a soul it goes back to the physical world to the other survivors that still have souls. While carrying a soul The Reaper gets a 200% speed boost, cannot let go of the soul, and cannot attack another survivor while carrying a soul. A SOULLESS SURVIVOR CANNOT BE HOOKED but can be slashed by basic attacks to fall into the dying state, but ONLY the survivor whose soul is captured can retrieve it. When a soul is captured the camera pans to the soul and the survivor has a chance to try and wiggle out of the Reaper's cold grasp. The character's name is engulfed in a fire and an image of a tormented face screaming on the side of it would signify their soul burning.
The Grim Reaper CANNOT linger/camp around a captured BURNING soul for more than 20 seconds while being within 10m of a hooked soul, otherwise, the soul stops burning after 10 seconds and at 20 seconds will disappear and return back to the respective survivor. This alleviates camping and allows the opportunity for a survivor to retrieve their OWN soul.
A soulless survivor can NOT see other survivors as if they were all invisible in another dimension, but the soulless survivor can still see the results of the other survivors' actions. The players that HAVE their souls CAN NOT SEE the other survivor that does NOT have their soul either, but if the survivor with their soul captured lets the soul completely burn, the survivor disintegrates where they stand. This will be as if they are in Purgatory. Even if survivors cannot see each other they can still interact with one another if they can manage it, almost like a ghost messing with you.
This power will pose a challenge to fulfilling altruistic actions, maybe even deliberately causing chaos as if everyone has gone mad. The idea is to SIMULATE fear and a psychotic break in the survivors in a different way from the Doctor. The power encourages goodwill but also uses that goodwill against the survivors.
The soul color would appear hazy white with some hue of gold (maybe?) It takes 3 minutes for a soul to be extinguished (I think that's fair). If a soul is retrieved by the survivor it can escape the match and be hooked on normal hooks by normal means, but it can be recaptured and will continue to burn where it left off.
Retrieving your own soul does NOT count as altruism.
Perk:
- CURSED OR DAMNED - The killer can stare at a survivor for 10 seconds and cast curse tokens on a survivor (divided any way they see fit once per trial) up to 15 tokens that are NOT the obsession to cause them a -15% penalty to healing others.
- JUDGED - Survivors have an unsettling feeling like the end is near and see brief illusions of hooks that aren't really there. The killer has a total of six ILLUSORY hooks that they can place wherever they see fit, and the illusion remains until a survivor interacts with it. The killer is able to see the difference between the real ones and the fake ones. The ILLUSORY hooks show up as red to the killer. The illusory hooks would also have a subtle identifying death mark for survivors to notice if they're observant.
- HEALBOUND (play on the word Hellbound) - Any survivor with low ALTRUISM NOT having performed (one of each of) the good deeds like fully healing a survivor, protecting a survivor, and unhooking at least one other survivor is condemned with an immediate Exposed status and automatically receiving two hook marks.
Yes, I understand that this is seemingly powerful (maybe even OP), but I ask that you be open-minded and help find a way to make it work if you don't agree. We at first assumed the same thing about the Dredge. The community is so we can work together to come up with ways to breathe more life into an already old game. I truly believe this is a decent idea and creates a creepy (at the very least tedious and dire) situation for all survivors. It just needs work to be fleshed out. After all, it is the Grim Reaper so death needs to SEEM imminent.
