Should Plague be able to see infection progress?

I think it'd be good information, but she already has a lot going for her. Thoughts?

Yeah I had this thought the other day. It would be a nice QoL change.

It would make you start having to decide mid chase if you should commit to trying to finish the infection or just take the hit.

Trying to think of the bad outliers but overall that sounds like a pretty good change.

as an addon YES , as basekit NO, plague is pretty much fine already making any healing build useless for the entire match

I don't know, they're not very consistent with the rules. Ghosty and Dredge are the only two instances I can think of where the killer has more information than the survivor. Not saying it should be changed, I just wish there was a consistent precedent.

I'm going to be the black sheep here and say no, for 3ish main reasons. First, I think Plague is plenty strong enough in her current state without the information. Second and third, managing infection is part of a Plague's skill cap; since nearly every action short of walking increases infection, you can have a reasonable idea in your head of how long it will take a survivor to become broken. It's not like Ghost Face, where his power is basically Myers' but for individuals; Survivors don't know Myers' stalk gauge, so why should they know Ghost Face's (not to mention that if survivors could know when they're getting stalked it would make stalking them infinitely harder). It's also not like Trickster, in that there's so much chaos during the flurry of knife throws that it can be difficult to remember how many knives you've hit, and how many more you need to hit especially if the laceration meter has started to decay.

Sadako isn't the best example I believe, being condemned literally gets you killed and out of the game. The Ghost Face mark simply makes you exposed and insta-downable. It's the same reason Pig cannot see the timers of her RBT's; it would encourage unhealthy tunnelling (as if that wasn't already a contentious issue) and make 1 survivor have the absolute most miserable experience of simply trying to either take the RBT off or get the tape into the right TV. I've versed really great Sadako's before and their ability to know which TV you need to use the tape on is already quite oppressive. They don't even need to see the progress. Plus, there are little effects around the icons as well as the actual survivor to know if they have high condemn progress.

About the actual topic though, I can't see why Plague shouldn't be able to see infection progress. Outside of Corrupt Purge, she is an M1 killer who (hopefully) has pressure by forcing everyone to be injured. And she cannot simply mori or kill someone out of the game, so I don't see why not.

I think this is the conclusion we all have here. It doesn't enhance her power in a ridiculous way and she doesn't need too many buffs because her design is solid.

Plague is my favorite killer to play, and...

I like that she doesn't have access to that information. It isn't like Ghostface that needs that info because doing an M1 resets the stalk progress.

While it would be a nice Qol change. I personally feel like it would be less interesting to play with, and she isn't heavily punished for not knowing how far is infection on each survivor.

I would like it to stay as it is. Plague is in a great place in terms of balance.

Plague and Sadako's survivor gauges are significantly more lethal than Ghostface's, in addition, neither of them are entirely under the killers control.

Ghostface kinda has to be able to see mark progress. It's entirely governed by your own actions (stalking) and the moment it is triggered, a timer begins, 60 seconds of Expose. Once that timer runs out, you've lost your power. So you need to be able to start it when you need it, so that you can use it within that narrow window of time.

For Plague on the other hand, full infection inflicts the Broken status, and it's indefinite. Meaning there's no way for the survivor to simply 'outlast' the infection. It's also accumulated passively, so you don't have to DO anything to trigger it like GF's stalking. The Plague is under no pressure to capitalise on the infection, and the survivors only way of removing it also gives her power, so it's a win-win, there's no power to lose.

Sadako also has a more lethal power in Condemned. This allows her to eliminate a survivor entirely, and like infection, it doesn't run out. In order for a survivor to lose Condemned, they have to interact with TWO TV's.

Either of them having real time information on the progress of their power for an individual survivor would allow them to do something that their power is not designed for. Precisely time a hit or down for the moment their power takes full effect.

If Plague had this ability, she'd be more similar to Trickster, except that upon completion of her power, the survivor doesn't get a speed boost from the injury. She'd be Trickster, with unlimited knives, with knives that hit survivors automatically when they repair gens, that denies survivors a speed boost on injury.

No, it gives too much information to the killer. You can basically tell exactly when a survivor is sitting on a gen versus just tapping it, etc.

No point making a killer's power multifaceted if it's already balanced.

I don't think it's really necessary. She is already a pretty strong killer and being able to see the infection progress would actually give you a lot of extra information on what survivors are doing and it's not needed.

For example, you would know that:

-A survivor is not doing a gen and not running around somewhere if their infection is not progressing at all (because it doesn't progress while walking or standing still)

-Whether a survivor is interacting with an infected object vs. a non-infected one (interacting with infected objects progresses the infection twice as fast)

    Not a great idea.

Plague is surprisingly good, and she can force survivors to stay broken or give her a powerful chase power that can easily snowball a team.

Being able to tell exactly how much progress of infection someone has, would make it too easy to time an insta down around loops.

She absolutely needs this QoL change otherwise there's no point in committing to puking instead of smacking them with a quick M1 before a survivor gets to one of 40 pallets on the map.

She's also still lacking a chase theme despite being in the game since four years now.

Nah. Like you said OP she already has enough going for her.

I feel like the only reason GF and SM get to see and Plague doesn't is because Plague is far stronger. I don't think Plague needs it but if BHVR wanted to be logically consistent she would get it.

That's actually the reason I want it, but I can also see the potential problems with it as well. She's definitely strong enough without it though.
