So, Will The Apocalypse Horsemen Give In?
We always had these "the devs don't care about the game" stuff around here, but since the last chapter, this has become a fever all around. The apocalypse horsemen went out of their way to say the game was over, that the devs don't care about feedback, and that they would never again play this game because of the 3 gen and the boring killer situation.
And we had the "scream" change that destroyed the gameplay (as some people were saying):
Now that the devs actually took in the feedback (even tho they always have) will the apocalypse horsemen create threads apologizing for the hysteria? Maybe a "thank you devs for listening to our feedback"? Or even a simple: "oh, they really care after all"? Or will they pretend nothing happened?
What do you guys think? Have we finally overcome "the end of the world" for now? 🤐

Creating threads apologizing for the hysteria would first require them to acknowledge they might have been wrong. So I don't see it happening.

of course, they're not wrong, why would they think the devs care about this game and our feedback? We never had a perk overhaul happening because WE ASKED FOR, they never reworked maps because WE ASKED FOR, they never nerf or buff killers because WE ASK FOR. And yeah, the icons in the HUD to help soloQ? I don't think they ever did that also.
Oh, and they never brought to DBD characters WE ASKED FOR, that's why we have like 10 Resident evil characters in game. /sarcasm

They wont, they will simply reshape what good as happend into another negative point. Lemme demonstrate:

Its an endless cycle, bHVR can never be vindicated or praised for their attention, no its either spin or move on.

Patrick, formerly Game Design Lead, said Twins were next in line after Legion and Ghostface reworks/adjustments. Though that’s been a year ago, he left BHVR and Nurse got significant changes since then.. so.. uhm.
Hopefully they haven’t forgotten about Twins?

My only concern now is the status of the DDoS issues, which should always be the #1 priority.
But these changes are very welcome regardless.

The main issue here is that the devs sometimes seem to be working at random, implementing changes no one asked for and killers whose design philosophy is the antithesis of everything people want. The fact they're able to backtrack and implement feedback is commendable, but the decisions themselves cast doubt on the devs' ability to make the most informed changes for the health of the game. Just these 2 weeks of playing against genkick SMs made me resent playing the game a lot more.

No, I'd rather people don't be so "the game is over" all over social media just because the devs made a mistake or didn't come to people's expectations. Why would a bad (or ugly like some say) killer end this game? Why everything must be so SHOCKING and apocalyptical? One mistake and suddenly the devs don't care about the game.

I hope not. I actually get a bit of amusement out of the 'this is gonna kill the game' posts. I swear, no other player base wants to see their game fail as much as this one does. It's so confusing.
Constructive criticism and feedback is important for the game's health, but I can't wrap my head around the doom and gloom stuff.

While i´m not one of the doom guys, i think sometimes a bucket of cold water can be really wake some people up.
Killer concept was going to be used obviously to lock down 3 gens. If the community wouldn´t have voiced their concern or even worse, just quietly left. Then absolutely nothing would have changed.

They have said that they're working on the twins, and added that some changes take longer to implement than others. Considering the uniqueness of the twins, it probably takes longer for them 🤷🏻

There is a difference between voicing your concerns and screaming at the top of your lungs the game is going to die cause we got a lady with a silly mask and not a robot.
This isn't about the helpfull feedback people left, this is about the people who yell the game is going to die before they even could have downloaded the ptb and mostly come from people who later reveal they haven't even played the game for months
If people only yelled how the devs are out of touch and the game is doomed without even telling why they think that nothing would change either

Game has been "dying" since 2016 and i must have unconciously ignored the "game is dead" threads.

I would love to say that they care about the game...but it looks like they just saw the data with the plummeting active playerbase, the killrates of SM and realized this is not one of the hundreds of issues they can just ignore. So I don't feel like patting them on the back for not jumping off into a cliff.
