Is it bad to K.0. yourself when a 3v1 occurs?

Thoughts? I used to be able to endure it but now I just attempt on hook.

It's not really entertaining when a survivor dcs within the first minute of the match.

If it’s a dc then fair enough but I’d play the game out if not

I've had games with survivor DC's that have been turned around. Hell I had one crazy game where two survivors were downed almost instantly, took their chances and died on first hook, and the other survivor and I managed to repair all the gens and escape via tag-teaming and running the killer for minutes at a time until we lost them.

These games are best ones, because succeeding against terrible odds is far more impactful than an easy 4-man escape against a baby killer. These are the games that stick in your memory.

You can only answer that for yourself. Different people will have different metrics. As such, there's no right or wrong answer, as long as you stay within game rules.

And, as such, you'll get flak regardless of the answer you choose. At which point, you can always use DbD's get-out-of-jail card: you're not responsible for someone else's fun.

Well, it's a game mechanic so technically it's ok. Personally I don't it, I only do it if I have an IRL emergency and am on the hook, or I just DC, RL > game, always.

However! No matter how bad a match goes I always play it out. Win some and lose some :) 3vs1 isn't much fun but I find myself winning still a lot as long as people don't give up 🤗

I usually just try to maximize BP, unless there aren't any offerings and no incentive for the role.

As someone else already mentioned, I also try staying, for mine and everyone else's pips.

I've still given up in some of these situations, however. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

I just leave ASAP. It's a boring, overly-long match with no hope of winning against a killer that isn't drooling on their shoes the whole match.

I don't care about bloodpoints in this scenario. I want to have a fun match. Game isn't fun when you are handicapped from the start. It's best just to get out of the game as fast as possible since you have no chance at winning.

Survivors DCing early and survivors being tunneled out at 5 gens (what I see more than DCs). It ends the same.

Honestly, if the game is an early 3v1 (DCs, tunneled out) - both things are valid IMO. Staying in the game to gain more BPs and just getting out of it to go to the next game are both fine IMO.

I can get behind both. Personally, I also dont really feel like staying in a game which ended up in an early 3v1 when the Killer tunneled. The game is lost at this point (unless the Killer is way worse than the Survivors) and the only thing happening at this point is feeding the Killer more BPs.

But I can also understand people who try to safety-pip or gain as much BPs as possible.

If it's a 3v1 with 4 or 5 gens left then there's no chance and I will often just nope out on hook or maybe try appealing to killer for a farming game.

3 gens is unlikely but doable. 1/2 gens is very possible, and I'll try my best in thise situations.

I always stick around but if there's still plenty of gens to go then i know the game is probably over. Ill just get as much bp as I can.

I'll generally try to score some points and hold out as long as I can in chase when killer finds me, so that my friend can get as much gen time in as he can for points, but I'm not expecting to win.

If my friend was tunneled out first and there's 4 to 5 gens remaining, I'm not gonna put up much of a fight.

I stick around but if it's an immediate DC or they killed themselves on the hook, but I imagine most people would understand if another player chooses not to.

As a killer, I personally play normal until we hit the death hook, then I just let them hammer gens. If a survivor gives themselves up though, I'll grant their wish and hook them to death.

I would leave the game. My fun only depends of myself.

I personally think it's a sneaky issue that affects the game more than we think. There's no reason to keep playing when it's a 3v1 at 2+ gens. The game is over. The survivors can't win unless the killer makes some massive mistakes. To each their own, but I personally see no reason to play a game that I can't win when there's no competitive rank or anything to be salvaged. The only reason to play the game for me is to compete with the other side, and it completely takes the fun out of it when the game is over and I still have to play for another 5-10 minutes.

If the DC happens VERY early on in the game, Id rather just move on to the next

I totally agree with this. I’ve had this achieved as well before. Sometimes it is almost impossible though against certain killers like a nurse

I usually do try and play them out up until recently, but I’ll keep trying to help whoever’s still in the game :’)

Yeah sometimes if the killer is in full on “sweat”mode I’ll consider going to the next.

I guess it depends on the scenario
