A QoL Request for our favorite Resident Creature Feature: Dredge
I don't really consider Dredge a Stealth Killer TBH. I mean, yeah, Dredge gets undetectable status during Nightfall, which is all part of his base kit, but to me, another thing in the base kit defeats the purpose of it: A 20m Directional Lullaby.
C'mon Devs! What's the point of going into stealth mode if the moment you get within 20m of a survivor, not only do they know you're there, they also can Hear what direction you're coming from? Sure the noises sound scary and atmospheric with all the cries, moans and such, but why does it have to be directional?
If it was Omni Directional like Huntresses Lullaby, or Freddy's Jump Rope song, or hell, Even Sadako's 24m Lullaby (again, another M1 "Stealth Killer" that gives survivors a heads up warning they're close for no damn reason), then Dredge would be a lot more scary. Dredge already "Glows" within 20m when in Nightfall so survivors can see the killer better in the dark, so the Directional sound reveal is a bit Overkill in my book.
We know the devs love to Coddle and Hold survivors Hands in this game, but too much of that not only takes away from the spirit of the game, it also feels condescending to our well earned gamer instincts, and, Like with Dredge, ends up spoiling alot of the fun. Seriously, it's a small request to give Dredge an omnidirectional "lullaby" radius. It won't break the game, make Dredge OP, and all it can do for Dredge is make Nightfall a Slightly more scary experience for survivors. Personally, I'm tired of every survivor with a headset knowing where I am even when they can't see me behind LoS Blockers every time I play Dredge, especially when I'm supposed to be "Undetectable" and thus supposed to have a sneak advantage.
Even if Dredge were to receive an Omnidirectional Lullaby treatment, The fact that there's a Lullaby at all consistently still warns survivors that Dredge is nearby, so it's not a complete win for Dredge, but at least it wouldn't be as much of a liability as it's been since Release.
What do my fellow community members think of this request? Are you with it, against it, Speak up and let's hear your thoughts.
TL;DR
Dredge needs their Nightfall Lullaby radius changed from Directional to Omnidirectional (like Huntresses Lullaby sound) to make him Slightly less predictable, Harder to pinpoint during Nightfall, and more scary in game.

I would also like if they do a trade off: Buff base opening locked locker by 0.5 sec and nerf the yellow addon for it by 0.5 sec.

I mean, you already have a super fast teleport with almost no cool-down for ambushes in that mode and reduced visibility for the survivors.
So i really don't see the point.
As for scary. The only recent time i got scared against a Dredge was when i got hit by an invisible one. I just find it annoying, the low visibility, especially on some maps.
But i just don't think it's possible for me to find anything scary in this game anymore, it's just the nature of multiplayer games that you play repeatedly.

I personally don't have a problem with Nightfall Dredge. He isn't supposed to be a stealth Killer but rather a dreadful presence. You should know that he is here and have that unsetteling feeling.
Dredge outside of Nightfall is quite bad. His tp speed is ultra slow and his cooldown is to long. Increase his tp speed to Demo's and rework his cooldown so it works like Artist's where if you used only 1 Token, it's shorter and if you used 3, it's longer.

i feel like i could be in one direction then change then again to confuse survivors on which direction so pretty much omnidirectional

Only buff Dredge needs is doing something about locked lockers. Too easy to lock and too punishing for his power.

This is the change I’ve wanted for forever. I never play Dredge without that addon

My personal beef with Dredge is that his own perk is countered by his power. Dissolution is a terror radius perk, so during nightfall it is literally useless, even less value if you have addons to extend nightfall or trigger it more frequently. I don't see the point in making a condition for the Killer's own perk that is countered by their primary mechanic, it could have easily been made into raw numbers instead of terror radius reliant.

I could see this as being a valid point.
My main gripe is how bad he is outside of Nightfall. I feel like Boat Key and Haddies Calendar are required addons just to make it passable, wish those effects were base. He actually has quite a few decent addons but he just has no opportunity to run them.

its his design. He's power-up steath killer. Its like a vampire. you are weak vampire during the day and a powerful vampire at night. Its like saying why is Oni and Plague are weak without their ability but strong with their ability. Its just how they were designed.
I don't find dredge good because nightfall is not very good stealth tool. They also have habit of putting ambient noises on all other stealth killers. Clearly they do not want these killer to be very stealthy.

Yes I understand the concept. My point is more that the weak state is too weak and the strong state isn’t good enough/lasts too short.

Sounds like typical dbd killer design. You can use broken doll to increase duration of nightfall by +20 seconds and Malthinker skull to get nightfall more often to be in weaken state less often. Dredge nightfall could use a bit more ophh but I do not know what would make nightfall more of an ultimate ability. Maybe he could get movement speed when coming out of a locker like wraith when in nightfall. I am not really sure. I do not play much Dredge. He is not my cup of tea.
