how tf do you avoid flashbangs

i played a match just now in wich i got flashbanged thrice but every time it happened i looked up. I guess that doesn't work so how am i supposed to avoid them then?

were you in an animation? if so theres not really a way to avoid them unless they timed it wrong or if you’re running lightborn

no i wasnt in animation in any of the three times

If youre on top of them they'll still blind you

If in animation you can't do anything.
On all other occasions: survivors dropping a flashbang makes a sound, if you hear that and actually step to the side while looking up/away you're good.
