Is anyone gonna play DBD when this update comes to live server?

Honestly, the meta shake up (6.1) was not that bad compared to this one. I'm really looking forward Killers getting easy 4K's every match cuz this game is gonna become M1 simulator and predrop every game. Why did you even have to touch the meta.. BHVR always does things no one asked for and it's so uncalled for to change all of our favorite perks. I know I'm not gonna play this boring game again if they do change the meta and all my friends agreed to. Stop changing our playstyle and let the perks just be. And why wasn't this change earlier, it should have been looked into couple of years ago. Anyone else not gonna play much DBD when the changes come live?

Sure i'll play. I just pop in 1 of the healing perks and im good. No reason to lose my head over this update. Its a meta shakeup and it means you need to learn to play with different perks, and its good.

New rift..sure but i heard its SM rift and i absolutely hate her :P I'll still buy the rift but i refuse to play her so her tome tasks will stay unfinished for me FOREVER!! MUHAHAHAH

I don't know. After 6.1. I said "Eh, guess I'll just play more killer !" and I did.

But now, I have no idea. Survivor sounds horrible with that much time needed to heal + killers who might tunnel even more, but killer sounds like it's gonna be much harder to pressure gens and actually need to tunnel to put a damper on the gen efficiency.

    + The Hag nerf.

So I guess I can always play Legion, as at least I'll make sure everyone's gonna be injured fast and need time off gens to mend.

as long as it's fun and i have successes from time to time then i keep playing, otherwise there are many other games that are fun.

I mean against plague you never healed and a 4 man escape was possible.

I just play whatever has the BP bonus (spoiler alert it's almost always on the survivor role)

If they keep trying to entirely turn survivor gameplay into a skillcheck simulator then yeah it legitimately is on its way to die. The surv mains who are not interested in standing still hitting skill checks the whole game are gonna quit one by one only leaving the gen jockeys and their genrushing builds which in turn is going to be inciting plenty of killer mains to quit.

Yes I will play both soloQ and killer but mostly survivor.

Very excited to play the new meta and having to coordinate with teamates.

With how controversial the changes are, there is no way they go through with all of them.

DbD has been called dead/dying since its release and here we are, still playing.

If the altruistic healing nerf happens, then I’ll just equip a healing perk. Botany knowledge undoes the altruistic healing nerf, and unless I want to specifically bring a medkit with double +charge addons, I can bring botany knowledge.

But if the altruistic healing nerf is reverted, then I’ll do absolutely nothing differently, because there wouldn’t be a need.

The other perks are bad though especially if you only play solo que THATS WHY WE DONT USE THEM

I'll still play. People make this stuff like it's a be all to end all, and it's really not.

I play soloQ and i play with perks like adrealine, we'll make it. Sprint burst and reassurance. I do fine. Not sure why the rest of you can't put 1 perk to help out your healing.

You know windows of opportunity is pretty useless perk you can replace that easily and LEARN the maps <3

Yeah I’m looking forward to not having to deal with Dead Hard and multiple regression perks anymore.

Less and less. Especially solo queue. I might grind out the rift if it has some good outfits. Overall the game has steadily become less enjoyable over the last couple years.

Not solo q more... its will be dead for me, solo q is still the misarabel and worst role in dbd, but making it awful nah bro im out bhvr play solo q alone, self healing are so hard to do if you want to heal effectin then you need communication (voice room) what bhvr (dbd) not gaves you, mention download Discord go to dbd Server and play 4 men swf

additional things have been nerfed between the announcement and the ptb. so we can assume that more will lose their usefulness?

nothing changed between the announcement and the PTB. The builds weren't even altered. We clarified wording on a perk plus the clarifications on the bloodweb UI...but those were not changes, and not further nerfs.

right! I hate those statements "dbd dies when Ruin is nerfed, when MMR comes in, when this and that perk is nerfed" all stupid sayings... but what should be understood here is not a "minor change" perks or whatever is changed but, here we are talking about it being unplayable, we say as an example the gens are increased from 90sec to 120sec and at the same time there is no gen regression perls but the old perks are made clean, what do you think will happen ? small tip dbd will not exactly have a rosy future

as a comparison, when the gens were "only" increased by 10sec and thana was only increased by 2% (22%) almost every killer played thana, bhvr then nerfed it immediately but look at the heal with the current perks and calculate the result is = bhvrs future

Oh yeah the changes are big. Thats why i don´t think they will go through with all of them. Lets say they nerf the healing like planned, they would also nerf the perks that affect healing negatively, because no way people will sit there and SC for 6 minutes. Just like they did with the additional 10 seconds of gen time, while also nerfing all meta slowdown perks hard.

The planned meta shake ups every 3 months sounds like a great idea. Because i loved the time after 6.1.0. There was no meta, and everyone tested new (and crazy) builds. That time was amazing. If the devs manage to keep something like that alive, then we will look into a bright future.

    title : yes.

a little change like this isn't going to make me quit playing the game 🙄

if anything makes me quit it'll be burnout from not having any new mechanics added to the core game in what feels like years.

Honestly , i will give a try but , since PTB were anounced i reduced my playtime on the game , not because lack of time but because nearly Nothing interest me in this PTB ( wich i wont try for the first time since i started playing in 2017). i really think those Perks Nerfs and killers mechanics delete are not healthy to the game, instead of this i would prefer wait for more maps rework, and i would like to see more killer specific mechanics like can burn wraith . just an idea : PH dont have eyes , why dont make Him Immune to Flashlight or requires 2 Flashlight to blind ? It would make Killers unique .

If they keep this PTB on live Server With Perks Nerf and Mechanics Delete i wont play anymore and i dont forgot that year there is a lot of game that are coming out in the nexts months.

If it goes live as it is? No. There is nothing left for me personally to enjoy about the game besides the community.

I play Billy and survivor. Playing Billy is no longer fun, or an expression of hard-earned skill. The healing changes have turned survivor into an m1 simulator which doesn't appeal either.

Not sure how I'll spend my spare time or money if the changes go live, but it won't be on DBD that's for sure.

Despite there being some bad changes, people have been way too overly dramatic about it imo. This is most definitely not the worst chapter we’ve seen and it’s not close. I feel like I lot of you weren’t there for A Binding of Kin lmao.

Dude enter dbd discussion on youtube, people were always asking for changes in the meta. Sometimes I feel bad for the devs, because the comunity asks something and then complain when they get it. For years people asked for mmr and then its a problem when it's implemented. The amount of videos complaining about dead hard, medkits, boons....

  • FFirebrandd
    FFirebrandd Member Posts: 2,445

This is worse than Binding of Kin. Sure Twins were a buggy mess, but that was rather understandable since the Twins were ambitious and there's a reasonable expectation that those bugs would get fixed.

These changes are getting put into the game on purpose. The devs think these changes are good when they clearly aren't. That's far more worrying than the devs trying to do something really cool and not sticking the landing.

I'm currently on a DBD break until next rift. Unless there's a Zarina cosmetic in the upcoming rift to encourage me to play I think I'm going to extend my break until the anniversary event. I'm fine with medkit/CoH nerfs but it's the basekit healing nerfs that I know are just going to make my solo q matches more miserable and there's other games to play.

The increase in Billy's charge time wasn't announced before the PTB. That was an unexpected bonus nerf that we only found out about yesterday. :(

"meta shake up was not that bad compared to..."

Every terrible balance decision that BHVR has been making for the last year is a direct result of the meta shake up, so I disagree.

This isn't an all-or-nothing situation. Some of the changes are good and some are bad.

    Bloodweb changes: good

    Medkit/CoH healing nerf: good

    Altruistic healing nerf: bad

CoB nerf: A good idea but done the wrong way, something needed to be done about the 3gen meta and clearly just nerfing Eruption wasn't enough, but making the perk useless was not the way. Probably a better fix would have been to make it so it only works on one gen at a time, and kicking a new one makes it fall off of the others.

I am optimistic that they will backpedal on some of these changes. They did that in the past, ex: when they overnerfed Eruption.

What are you talking about? They haven't even talked about the mori update since that happened to my knowledge, and the only responses I've seen like from community managers have said that was only a rough draft version and the final version would look much different.

Why would they do an early PTB to test out a change with the express statement that it wasn't going to be the final version if they weren't taking feedback into account?

  • Rogue11
    Rogue11 Member Posts: 1,459

It was overwhelmingly hated and they still want to implement it. They are still pouring dev resources into a feature that no one asked for and was rejected when tested. If it comes out in any form other than a simple basekit yellow mori, it will be worse for the game. Both in terms of the feature being bad, and all the wasted dev time that could have been allocated elsewhere.

The core idea behind it is good, though, which is to prevent killers from trying to avoid the hatch mechanic, which has become an obnoxiously widespread issue suddenly.

I haven't played much survivor recently because I don't think it's that fun, but it feels like every single game I do I get slugged if I'm the 2nd-to-last survivor, or the 2nd-to-last survivor gets slugged if I'm the last survivor. Unbreakable has been stapled to my build and it makes me sad how often I have to use it because of this.

I don't know why killers all suddenly seem to think anything short of a 4k is a loss and they need to play like this. When I got into the game I was told that 3k is a win and the 4th is bonus points, which makes sense to me. Otherwise why would the hatch even exist? Do people really think that making the poor 2nd-to-last survivor have to sit around for 4 minutes is an intended game mechanic?
