This is why the devs need to think harder before they add perks

The only reason the heal speeds are so slow is because we have become used to insane, 6 second self heals. So now these heals feel insanely slow, but if they thought harder before adding insane medkits etc, wed just be used to slower ones

If they ever nerf gen rushing perks oneday itll feel the same.

I'd argue the heal speeds feel so slow because the last time they were touched was (I believe October) 2018, and they were increased from 12 seconds to 16 seconds (+4 seconds). Now, about 4 and a half years later, they're being increased from 16 seconds to 24 seconds (+8 seconds, an increase of 50%, and twice as much as they were increased by last time).

It's not that we're used to insane, 4 second heals. It's that 24 seconds, especially in DBD, is a long ass time.

Most people aren't used to 6-second heals, those sorts of medkits are really rare, and the absurd combo with botany knowledge was nerfed pretty heavily by requiring charge addons + built to last to be notable. Still busted, but rare.

Most people were doing like, 15 second self heals with skillchecks, or infinite CoH 30 second heals.

People are also scared of Sloppy Butcher becoming super common again too, since it's multiplicative the healing nerf will be extra painful with it.

I see people heal each other in 6 seconds all the time, sometimes less.

This is circumstantial though. Not every game has quick 6 second healers.

The healing change isn't happening in a bubble, it's also coming with a hefty regression nerf. They seem to be trying to push the game in the direction of making regression less impactful, which I think is fine and will likely lead to an overall healthier game state.

But they can't do that and also leave healing the way it is. Circle of Healing is a big culprit in this but it's not the only thing. Being able to heal yourself quickly with a medkit is one of the best things you can do as a survivor for efficiency. Even a brown medkit with no addons in it is more powerful than practically any toolbox with anything but a BNP in it. Emergency Medkits and Ranger Medkits are absolutely busted. The only reason they were fine for 4 years is because regression was stronger than it will be after the patch.

Where they went too far is that they nerfed altruistic healing as well. That shouldn't be a thing.

In my opinion they should make the following changes and the patch would be perfect.

-Revert the healing speeds to how they are on live

-Nerf medkits further so that they all impose a healing speed penalty that makes it take 24 seconds to self-heal with them. This is so they don't need to touch Self-Care.

-Revert the absolutely pointless Hillbilly addon nerfs

Additionally, two changes I think should be considered, but I'm less confident on if these are the right adjustments to make.

-Revert Call of Brine back to 200%, but make it so it can only affect one generator at a time. This is to make it still usable without dumpstering it.

-Buff Circle of Healing back up to 75%, so that it's not a waste of time to set it up.

Or maybe they're slow because they got nerfed by a whopping 50%. Seriously, did you think this through?
