Solo Queue already dead

This game was peak fun 3-4 years ago. I already have a hard time enjoying solo queue at this point. Now I can't even get 1 match without someone instantly sacrificing themselves or DC'ing. Thing is I can't even blame them, I have a lot of experience and it's not fun for me anymore so I can't imagine how it is for new players. What is the incentive to continue if it's just a frustrating experience? I used to play for hours religiously because I felt I could at least make something fun out of a match based on my skill alone, maybe I'll get chased for 4-5 gens and die but I'd feel accomplished for carrying my team.

That is basically impossible now between the bloodlust speed and weak tiles. It used to be nearly every resource on the map would buy you time or create space if you got a window or pallet between you and the killer, with the exception of a few windows near edges of map. Now unless you're dropping a pallet on a killer, a lot of the time they're so fast and tiles are so small that they'll be on the other side hitting you before you can even finish the drop animation. I wouldn't mind gen slowdowns if it were possible to run killers like how it used to be, but it seems every change is intended to slow survivors down and give killers the best experience possible.

The changes are so substantial that they even made BT basekit, previously one of the strongest perks in the game, and it made basically no difference. I was getting easy 4K's as spirit back in 2017 with the right perks, so it would seem just like the problem with western society, changes are being made according to those with the loudest voices who instead of analyzing what went wrong. why they're unhappy, and making themselves better, they want the game to conform to them. I don't even need to survive I can get facecamped and be happy as long as I had a good chase beforehand, I just want to have fun. Killers NEED 4k's or they complain about how toxic the game is and "I got T-bagged so now I have to find a way to ruin everyone's fun by being toxic back."

I would never T-bag intentionally to be malicious I may have done it accidentally before, but if you can't handle T-bagging you are not emotionally mature enough for competitive online gaming. Back when Ruin was the default killer meta I didn't realize how good things were and how bad they could get, this game is trashed. Currently I find myself booting up just out of habit or ritual, and playing a couple games to get annoyed by the current state of things and quit. Unless we take some massive steps backwards. as soon as there's a decent competitor to scratch my DbD itch, it's goodbye and good riddance.

Its edited now. Not how it was. & its a meme, don't take it so seriously.

As for the OP (since you were awesome and split the wall of text to help easily read):

I agree with you on most things, the game has definitely gone backwards and its clear BHVR listens to the loudest voices instead of analyzing the game statistics around good players and listening to their feedback. Even their own FWs are ignored in a lot of things they say or give feedback on. They're just used to promote the game/bring attention to it but they really don't do much. I remember Otzdarva saying this about Eruption, how he and many others tested the perk on the PTB prior to its launch and numerous FWs told the devs what they thought, how broken it'd be, and the devs still pushed out the perk to live servers. BHVR also tends to nerf or buff things no one asked for or even mentioned, such as this recent upcoming update with the Billy engravings being gutted.

I don't really agree with you on the tiles or resources, we still have some great tiles and lots of pallets (Garden of Joy, Meat Plant, Hallowed Square, etc). I'd recommend running WoO if you find yourself going into deadzones or weak areas often.

Solo que for me, is still ..alright. I can have bad matches but so does everyone, including SWFs (they just tend to have less). I do wish this game had some healthy competition b/c it would force BHVR to step up their game, so to speak. Until that happens (which wont happen for a long time, if at all, IMO) I don't think BHVR will smarten up.

Yeah, I've noticed over time how much the games community has rotted and become far more hostile, I mean the game has always been toxic, but there was a general unity and chillness in the community until ranks, MMR, crossplay, and players improved and made certain perks overbearingly strong (old old ruin, old ruin, dead hard, Balanced landing etc).

by god I feel you so hard same! xD 4 years 9k+ hrs and that's how it ends solo q main, I've been through so much, but that's way too much even for me and we all know bhvr when they do something for the solo q want, it takes years and much more no thanks :/

All the best to all the soldiers o7 who stayed and didn't leave when bhvr didn't do any for solo q people but they buffed killer hard, hard times but we tanked it like MEN!

If Solo Queue is dead why are my queue times under one minute?

omggggg hahahahaha also one of the reasons why you should get away from dbd xD not exactly the most intelligent community in the gaming scene, dead is meant here "nothing going on, almost only negative and bad experiences" Albert NoStone standard player in dbd xDD sometimes I really wonder if in dbd it's not all bots that would explain a lot

A dead game is a game that has little to no player activity and a small to nonexistent player base. "Dead game" has had this definition since live service games were invented.

Admittedly, I didn't read OP in all of it's entirety, but I don't believe they called DBD a "dead game." They used the word 'dead,' but not in the context you're used to seeing.

Beyond the title, the body of the post seems to talk about how the experience of Solo Queue has detriorated over time. Strictly speaking, 'dead' in this context is talking about a lack of excitement and motivation to play, rather than a dying community.

Why do I imagine a Claudette selfcaring into a corner as I am reading this crap ?

You played for more than 6 years, that’s more than enough.

Solo queue definitely still needs some buffs, especially with the huge healing nerfs coming that'll make it even worse.

That said, it's not dead, not even close.
