New DH - Did anyone actually read the dev update?
I've read through many af the recent DH posts, and one thing thats mentioned again and again is:
"You only have two activations now (each time being unhooked)."
Yes, you get it when being unhooked, but you ALSO activate it when safely unhooking! From the dev update:
"For the update’s release, we have changed Dead Hard to instead activate when you are unhooked or unhook yourself. This way, the unhooked Survivor becomes less of a clear target for the Killer. "
So you can use it way more than two times, given that you are diligent in unhooking! Why are so many ppl here so obsessed with the idea that its just two times?
Likewise, ppl stating that you need not expect DH when you chase someone not hooked yet? NO SIR, when this survivor unhooked someone safely thay may very well have DH!
Another thing I read here and there, that new DH can be countered by tunneling. Thats true in principal, bc when hitting someone off hook they get endurance and cannot use DH anymore. But, thats EXACTLY THE SAME with live DH! So whats the point?
You also don't LOSE it when being tunneled, you just cannot use it bc of an active mend timer. If you manage to shake the killer off, you can still use it later in your next killer interaction. On contrast to OTR, btw, that will be gone when you are hit off hook.
I really don't get all that reasoning, but it was so prevalent in each and every thread that i felt the need to address this in a separate thread, sorry.

"For the update’s release, we have changed Dead Hard to instead activate when you are unhooked or unhook yourself."
This to me sounds 2 times a match per Survivor. It doesn't say anything about unhooking others, that was in PTB only.

I suppose the wording is a bit ambiguous. Maybe pass on the note to in future use 'self-unhook' as a separate term for that?

It was also clear to me. As far as I can tell the wording is consistent with what is used in the game.
It would say "when you (safely) unhook another Survivor" if it triggered on performing unhook actions.

It is mostly straightforward, but I can see how, for example,
'Activates when someone unhooks you, or you unhook yourself'
can be read as
'Activates when someone unhooks you, or you unhook (someone) yourself'.
I don't know if it's grammatically appropriate, but in colloquialisms I can see this happen.

EDIT: Sorry Rizzo I read the description wrong.
Good change, Carry on.

They would have said "unhook someone else" and not "unhook yourself." I think the vast majority of people understood what they meant.

DS description
Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:

Going to close this as I think enough people have confirmed the misunderstanding that the OP has made now.
