NEW KILLER META

I thought we wanted fewer toxic players, not more?

As usual op puts killer perspective on game and is immediately inundated with toxic comments about their skill level.
If you can't be constructive and/or have a proper conversation then don't say anything.
Take your toxic/skill comments elsewhere and take a good hard look at yourself as to why you feel the need to bring down someone you don't agree with.
This is what's wrong with the dbf community

Explicitly playing "for salt" or whatever you want to call it is not something the game or any other game needs. And I don't care if it's a killer or survivor doing it.

Some people forget that not every killer can blink through objects like nurse, run at max speed as blight or phase out like spirit. Large map, too many pallets nearby, widely spread gens, bad totem spawn for hex - there are way too many factors that can make killer's game worse from second 1. Survivors don't suffer from such problem as long as they don't 3 gen themselves as for them most pallets are usable, any totem can be used for boon and any window can be used for a loop.
People also forget that some killers may have very narrow momentum window because they need more time for a setup and any misplay may as well cost them entire game. Some killers have no means of dealing with pallets other than force survivors drop those on them over and over until a dead zone is created.
I believe it's not ok to say that losing a match is fine when so many factors were stacked up against you. That's like saying it's fine to lose in casino when the game was rigged against you from the start before you decided to participate in it.

This community is beyond saving, one more toxic player on either side won't change anything.

yall really need to play both sides a good amount. So many jaded people here man.
2 -
And yet, isn't it that attitude that got us here in the first place?
1 -
Could be, but I don't believe current situation can be fixed. I don't see the devs suddenly deciding to remove swfs, basements, flashlights, post game chat etc. and people suddenly becoming nice to each other.

This is what I was talking about in my post about how killers tend to oppress themselves into playing with only two playstyles (camping and tunneling) when they don't even try to use others in another discussion thread.
1 -
It sucks because a tons of killers aren't even willing to try other playstyles. Camping and tunneling have their place, but there are more fun options. At least during the early points of a round.

Their skill level could be a legit factor to take into account. So many player on both sides try to dodge the idea of "Hey, maybe they just need more practise".

It might have something to do with demonstrably good players not having this experience and win games without feeling obligated to use these tactics too often. The only differentiating factor in this case is skill (and probably attitude I suppose). Hell, I'm not as good as those that make content but I wouldn't say I feel forced to camp and tunnel all the time. I still win more than I lose. If other people don't have this experience then I can only assume they're just less capable than I am.
That's not to say there aren't issues. But the game gives you more than enough to compensate.

Let me hit you with the quote you leave on everyone else's threads.
Skill issue Git good.

Maybe having killer perks nerfed or gutted down every next patch could have something to do about it?
Maybe some people want to have a fun game as killer with an actual chance of getting kills and not being a walking M1 clown with 2 or 3 hooks at the end of match every time.
1 -
As if camping and tunneling is "fun". I know that's subjective but if it were legit fun killers wouldn't complain that they have to do it.
1 -
Camping and tunneling can be effective tactics and require low effort to execute. Rather than make them ''ineffective'' or more demanding, better offer an alternative where applying pressure can be meaningful and not so tiresome.
I'm yet to hear at least a single suggestion where survivor players could recommend something that would make killers not do these things and get rewarded properly for that. Instead they suggest that killer should be literally punished for every action in the game other than mindless chasing and constant target switching so everyone else can get their share of fun and then escape safely through exit gate.

Okay now I want your opinion on my idea if you don't mind. I think we have a similar mindset.

I think the problem here is how long chases are treated in the game. Usually it is advised to drop a chase within 15 - 20 seconds if target is too far, has plenty of means for looping or has perks that can extend the chase for very long time. This means for the idea like yours to work, killer must keep self occupied with chase for decent amount of time or else there is no benefit for it, unless you buff the numbers, which in turn will be met with complains if the mechanic is too effective. This may also not be the most optimal way to play for some killers as well the fact that very often the hooked person gets saved relatively quickly unless camped. In other words it's akin to current Monstrous Shrine where chances of getting any benefit from it are very low unless killer has high mobility and can initiate chases very quickly, but for such killers perks that provide information or vision would be far more beneficial.
If you ask me, what killers need is something akin to basekit dying light or bbq and chill so the successful hooking does grant them with a stacking slowdown and vision to go for the next target. Of course it won't stop killers from camping a survivor when there's 1 gen left or they feel they won't be able to get another hook anymore, as well as for some end-game builds but it will make camping and tunneling less likely when there are plenty of gens left to do.
