Don't forget to nerf Deadlock in few month, BHVR
Comments
-
You didn't learn the lesson I did when they Nerfed Michael Myers after one week.
Don't buy DBD DLC.
1 -
Check for yourself.
Deadlock has never been in the shrine according to the DBD wiki.
The devs say: random is fine.
Random is not fine. It has prevented Deadlock from ever appearing in the shrine. This in turn encourages more people to buy Deadlock. Note: it's one of the few perks not getting nerfed and is locked behind a premium killer you cannot buy with shards.
CoB and Eruption were under the same umbrella but those perks are getting nerfed by popular survivor demand.
The new marketing strategy is clealy : make the premium killers have the good perks - even if the killer sucks people will be forced to buy it.
3 -
You should be on the dev team- this is their logic!!
2 -
There is no way they take the shrine in account at all for balancing the game my dude, lol. I know BHVR can be a weird company sometimes but still.
1 -
It does in a way you don't think about. Say 40% of players dont own deadlock. That's going to influence how often a perk gets picked.
Perk nerf rate for killers is heavily influenced by how often something gets used (more so than for survivors).
1 -
Dude, no. You can cross the entire map from corner to corner in 30 seconds. There's no way it should take you 30 seconds to find a new gen.
4 -
The only way I'd see them nerfing deadlock is by making it only proc on 1 gen at a time, right now it can block multiple at one time
Hopefully not though, I think it's pretty balanced considering it's a give and take perk. You need to lose a gen to block a gen.
2 -
Deadlock only blocks the gen with the most progress.
Dead Man Switch & Thrilling Tremors block multiple gens
0 -
Deadlock should be basekit. 45 seconds to eliminate gen rush from the game.
5 -
I don't see problem when blocking doesn't regress generator to be honest.
Of course it will be nerfed eventually because the perk is "dumb" design said by survivor mains.
1 -
Deadlock is a poorly designed perk.
0 -
Nah Deadlock can block 2 gens at once
Let's say 3 diff survivors have a gen at 99, surv 1 finishes his gen, surv 2 has their gen blocked and surv 3 finishes another
Surv 3 finishing a gen will cause deadlock to trigger again, even though gen #2 is still bloocked
0 -
Survivors literally were so butthurt they review bombed the game to mixed on steam
10 -
Not sure how that prevents 3/4 different Survivors from repairing a Generator at the start. It just offsets when they pop and gives the Killer more anxiety over guarding the generator that was highlighted, which ironically will make them more likely to ignore other generators contesting that single generator allowing other generators to be worked on.
Deadlock doesn't impact the time put into repairing a generator, it staggers generator completion.
It just stalls a generators progress. It also generally just deprives a survivor continuation on their goal without having any clear and present danger around. It also always triggers, as it's passive. And apparently it's competitively viable to be recommended.
2 -
As if survivors needed any more indirect buffs to make their genrushing life even easier.
The devs either don't play their game or they only queue up as a survivor party. This is the only reasonable explanation to the balancing in this game.
5 -
Your comment is radiating with truth. They're going to receive more buffs in the near future since all they get is buffs and buffs.
4 -
I've been careful to avoid mentioning Deadlock in my recent posts because I was scared someone at BHVR would read it and get this idea.
Hard disagree, if for no other reason than the fact that it's now the only really good killer perk.
Survivors still have half a dozen decent perks that affect gen speeds. Give killers at least another four or five, and we'll talk.
4 -
If you ask me they need another reminder like that one time when Coté visited South Korea just to get stomped by the local playerbase. Maybe then they'll realize how brutally imbalanced this game is for m1 killers.
5 -
No, they did it to mostly negative over overwhelming negative even on DLC's like Freddy's.
1 -
We'll talk when you dig into why the other Perks are not as good as your main argument other than "they suck gimme better"
0 -
Because if other killer perks get buffed, a bunch of outraged players will start shrieking and demand they be nerfed back down, like what's happening right now. Overcharged didn't have gen regression, then last year that feature was added and people started using it, and now it's being nerfed because people are using it.
2 -
I think like 90% of the point is no interaction. It's meant to be a flat stall to give the killer info on which gen is most likely to pop, and give them a few seconds to do something about it. Interaction after the fact, rather than to trigger it, otherwise it's a pretty useless perk
0 -
People were using it to hold 3-gen hostage situations.
The regression was also way overtuned given it didn't have any signifiers it was active, a signifier which would be disproportionately imapctful between SWF and SoloQ as there isn't and objective status on the HUD for each Gen. (So a SWF would be able to call out if a Gen they were chased from was regressing abnormally)
And for some reason it was able to stack with call of Brine instead of the highest regression % being the maximum.
1 -
And if you buff other killer perks then I'm sure they'll also lead to gameplay that makes people very very upset because people get very very upset over perks that are strong enough to have an impact on the game. This time it was gen regression so Overcharge, Call of Brine, and Pain Resonance are gutted. Next time it'll be something else, I'm already seeing people move on to new perks to demand nerfs for.
0 -
Well, it's the only good killer slowdown perk left.
If you want to ask me for an explanation of any other perk, fire away, unless you want me to list all of them in alphabetical order complete with my personal opinions on them (which I'll also be happy to do).
0 -
Yeah, and then you need to look at the gameplay that is provided.
Playing Generator defense is not thematically appropriate for a game about a Killer chasing Survivors to Kill them.
I sure remember in Halloween how Michael Myers was all uppity about Laurie Strode sabotaging his knife cabinet and chasing her away from it.
I still don't know why they nerfed Pop Goes The Weasel.
2 -
I still don't know why they nerfed Pop Goes The Weasel.
Because people used it.
1 -
I mean technically the instant regression usually would allow a Killer, especially lategame with a 3-gen, to feed Hooks into massive Gen regression.
Still think they could have probably made it cause Entity Block in some manner to make it seem more like the "Pop" part of pop goes the weasel.
0 -
lol at someone making what's kind of a "can you imagine if survivors really...?" post and survivor mains jump in to go "actually yeah, we're gonna get that nerfed next! :)"
2 -
When he was playing Hag? Hahaha I don't think he has forgotten but even then the devs made Hag weaker by giving survivors the ability to remove it without having to trigger it.
1 -
Bro, this is just an absurd theater. I read this topic, which created by me, like a joke that went too far.
You can create a humorous topic "Let's nerf Unrelenting" and be sure to find survivors in it after a day, who will find several "reasons" why it really needs to be nerfed.
2 -
if a killer misses a swing then they're bad at the game and should immediately self-destruct and give me all the bloodpoints
I can exaggerate but I guarantee someone would say "Unrelenting rewards the killer for poor play and should therefore be nerfed!"
1 -
You also forgot thanata eruption and undying

Dude I bought Freddy day 1.
I came back to the game after a long time and bought killers with shards and cells...
Boom... Everything nerfed within 6 months
