Be honest now, someone self identifies as a killer or survivor main- what do you immediately think?
Curious to hear people’s instant reactions whenever they see the phrase “I’m a survivor/killer main”.

Unless their opinion isn't clearly biased, nothing.

They play a certain role because they enjoy it “either survivor or killer”
so unless their opinion is clearly biased like “survivors shouldn’t be able to have exhaustion perks”
or
”killers shouldn’t be able to kick gens”
nothing

That they primarily play that role?….
What else am I supposed to think?

Nothing.
If someone is biased they’ll show it soon enough. I’m not going to assume they are just by knowing which side they play more often.

First thought, they know absolutely nothing they're talking about.
Second thought, stop being judgemental and read what they say.
Third thought, contemplate what they said and see if we were right. (Close to 50/50 so far)

I don't really care unless they're using that to justify something stupid. Then I think they're stupid but that's because they're being stupid, not because they're a X main.

Mostly just ignore that phrase. Same for people who state how many hours they have. Doesn't matter in the slightest
I do get alarmbells if they call others survivor/killermain.

There’s a difference between “main” and ‘plays-only-x-role’. A killer main can quite easily have opinions that would favour the survivor side.

I’m curious if people think that maining one side will inevitably lead to biased opinions at some point.

I would say maybe some. But that would mostly apply to newer players who have stuck to one side. The bias comes from not experiencing the other side.
Most vet players have switched sides multiple times, so they know the struggles of both roles. I used to hard main survivor, then hard mained killer. Now I just play both.

I dont care what they mainly play, I just care about their argument(s)

I don't care which role someone mains, but I don't like it when people talk as though "survivors" and "killers" are two completely different groups of people -- because it usually means they're about to start talking smack about the group they don't belong to.
We're all players. We just have different preferences about which roles we enjoy more in the game.

I mostly think their opinion is biased at least a bit towards the role they play more often. Then I read what they have to say and reevaluate.

Someone identifying as a survivor main or killer main, means absolutely nothing on these forums. Some of the most survivor sided people on these forums identify as killer mains, so we should just flat out stop calling people survivor mains or killer mains.
And instead, we should use the words survivor sided or killer sided, because that is what we actually care about.

I don't particularly care either way.
I judge people off of their statements, not off of who they play.
1 -
Probably play both but enjoy one more

I just think "They're saying they play more of that role than the other one"
At least to me that's all survivor/killer main should mean, but some of the posts on here where people question others over it makes it seem like there's some sort of sacred list of things you MUST agree to in order to not be a fake <role> main or something and it's honestly big weird.
