DBD needs more out-of-the-box thinking in killer design.

The nerfs to gen regression perks and healing speeds have been very well done. I actually suggested the COH nerf before many times and it got the exact changes I suggested. I don't know if it was a developer reading my idea or not but I am very happy they decided to nerf it into the ground as it was insanely problematic. I hope it was my suggestion though. It would feel great knowing i made a positive contribution to a game with a lot of potential.

I am sure you are all aware that DBD is starting to bleed players. This mainly has to do with the fact that all the killers basically feel too similar to one another. As killer, when you look at the selection screen you start to realize they all play almost the exact same pretty much (besides nurse).

As survivor, you are almost always doing the same exact strats to win regardless of which killer it is (besides nurse).

I am not saying we need more teleporting killers that are hard to counter.

I'm suggesting designing killers that are more out-of-the-ordinary in design.

An example would be a Grey Alien that can mind control survivors and force a MC'ed survivor to grab another for easy hits.

Another example, a satanic killer that can summon demons to hunt survivors down who has a resource pool like Oni (like knight/oni combo, but stronger summons).

Just killers that make you go WOW. The most recent one has just been a wet noodle and isn't fun to play or vs.

I don't think Mind Control will ever happen as it's a pvp game. It's one of those mechanics that works better when using it against npcs rather than pcs.

Evil Dead did do a pretty solid job with this aspect. It was very fun on both sides, wasn't too oppresive, but allowed the killer to do a bit more than the average gameplay allows you to do. Maybe DBD could do something similar with an Ash Vs Evil Dead chapter.

I just want og Freddy back in some form because that was really unique. That was a pretty out-of-the-box design. They should keep the teleporting and dream clock aspect of the current power. Changes from the older power could include making the survivors that are transitioning into the dream state suffer from the incapacitated effect, and make the transition only last 5 seconds, and I'd say he'd be improved from before. He had such a cool tracking power that I miss from back then.

His old power wasn't unique, it was just you get to play the game.

Like old Fredboi's power didn't do anything other put survivors to sleep and then just stack a ton of debuffs passively, but he was literally unable to play the game otherwise. His old power was just bad, but he did get to turn doing gens into a death march as long as you were asleep. Though now that every perk than helped facilitate that has been nerfed or reworked he wouldn't even have that to lean on if he went back to his old power.
