Survivors, listen.. important about tunneling
so.. there is something called tunneling in dbd or in another words it would be focusing at one survivor
this can be used as a strat to get someone out to apply more pressure because there are 2 gens left.
you can do it at 5 gens what is the more unpleasent and maybe even scummier way of playing.
anyways.. i think most people know what tunneling is.
so... if i play killer, hook someone and then move for 20 meters and someone gets unhooked, if i dont have any other information about other survivors then im coming back, obviously.
and if a killer like me who is trying to be nice and never tunnels you CANT just unhook and then make a bush to your home because im not gonna look for you and waste even more time.
as we know dbd games are very short and time is everything for both sides, im not gonna look for you for the next 20 seconds and check every bush in the map. if you dont show yourself within 5 seconds im gonna go for this poor unhooked person.
Survivor is about teamwork and if YOU just decide to hide in a bush im not the toxic one here, you are the toxic survivor hiding and making the unhooked person my target.
i do understand if you dead on hook but if you are the typical bushdette player who didnt get hooked at all you cant tell me at the endgame chat that im a filthy tunnler, no, you are here the only one who is the toxic anti-mate who is literally making other survivors suffer from your EGO because the only thing you care about is most likely not to get detected or hooked or whatever.
you dont have to take hits or whatever but then atleast dont tell people they are a tunnler or something.
i admit, im more the survivor main and when i see these players who are like that and then calling the killer a tunnler or just bming him as if they should just look for you for the next 5 minutes.
stop this. unhook and then take the aggro very simple.
if you take aggro and the killer still wants the unhooked person then its a different story.
but dont act like you are such a great teammates and did everything right and everything in your power to protect your teammate who is getting tunnled after getting unhooked when the only thing you did was being toxic to your teammate and only cared for yourself.
Sorry for this rant but Survivors have to change who play with that mentality just to bm the killer and insult him at the end when they literally helped the killer to tunnel.
i call them the 5th killer perk.

That's too long. Make a TL;DR.
Plus, the blame is only on survivors if they insta-unhook. It's entirely on the devs and the killer if they drop chase and go straight to the unhooked.
This game has scratch marks and blood pools that last for, like, an eternity and a half, with maps about the size of half the palm of my hand. The game is screaming at you to go tunnel the unhooked survivor.

Simple words.
Survivor should be the one have responsibility for their unhooked teammates, not the killer.
Survivor should not blame the killer for unhooked survivor not being protected.
A common sense which lots of players don't have.

I have feeling you are either galactic being with really big hands, or you play on different maps...
the killer if they drop chase and go straight to the unhooked.
Survivors often unhook when killer is not in any chase, so killer has information about location where are at least two survivors. Why wouldn't he go there?

To be fair, the words tunneling and camping lost all meaning for me. I got accused of tunneling or camping while I was on the other side of the map looking for survivors. So yeah, I don't care about accusations of that anymore.

I like how some still refer to camping and tunneling as strategies (it makes me laugh) it's just gameplay there's nothing special about it

im guilty of this. Sometimes I'm so caught up in gen tracking and keeping pressure on i forget who's on certain hook stages and just like that, ive tunnelled the poor Nea who happens across my path every damn time. It is what it is

We call that pressuring, cause the whole team will soon come to be altruistic heroes, and you'll hit them all with a good old sloppy butcher while continuously runnin for the unhooked.

Tunneling, camping, slugging is core strategies of the game. Same as bodyblocking and flashlight saves. Don't blame killers for following game rules. Blame developers for setting the rules.

No it's just a coin flip on if the survivors are going to be dumb or smart.
It's not a strategy just gameplay and a lazy one at that.
You're not making big brain plays you're just standing at the hook.

No one's talking about Camping, but Tunneling.
You pressure gens like always, but you proxy the Hook and fake chase the unhooker so that someone else have to go for protection hit.
If they stay on Generators, you'll find them eventually, if they unhook, you'll kill the unhooked faster while slowing the team with Sloppy.

Rest easy. That isn't tunnelling. You've downed the most appropriate survivor, you haven't gone out of your way to get someone out of the game as quickly as possible. I've been that Nea plenty of times.

Back to my first comment it's not a strategy it's just game play.

Bodyblocking is literally against the rules. I have been bodyblocked more times this week so lazy killers can get their kills since I started playing. Tunneling is really a strategy move as you are going to eliminate someone and there is even an offering to Spawn next to a survivor, so yeah that's within the devs fault. Camping is just poor tactics. You don't have to camp to get 3k or 4k game. I mean you have to realize you are not meant to win every game and some play unfairly. Learn the ways and you can actually play.

I meant Survivors bodyblocking Killer. I guess it is called differently then. Camping may be a good tactics. Sometimes you want to wait for 2nd hook stages or secure this one survivor kill when exit gates are opened. Otherwise it is still tactics but not working good for the killer.
The camping problem is unfairness to Survivor who has been camped. He is sacrificed in order to help other 3 Survivors to easily escape but he doesn't get any rewards for team win. Which is again, developers fault. I cover survivor rewards rework in this topic: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/373694/soloq-improvement-survivor-rewards-rework

You body block a killer and you get camped seems to be what happens when I play.
