Proposal for a new game mode: By the Book!
Hello,
here is a proposal for a new game mode. In the last couple of month, but especially with the last patch, the game seems to have lost its charm for both sides, killers and survivors alike. Both sides got some of their most prominent perks and ways of play destroyed/nerfed and both sides complain about extremely unfun gameplay reactions by the other side in a way of coping. Gen-slamming and tunneling/facecamping seem to be more rampant as ever, driving ever more players to this same playstyles just to counter it, stoking the vicious cycle.
So, here is the idea: make a new game mode called "By the book". In this game mode you literally have to play "by the book" or get penalized and eventually booted out of this playmode for escalating periods of time if you transgress.
For both sides there exists a "playbook" to which all involved must adhere. This involves stuff like "always go for the unhooker", "never camp", "go for 12 hooks" or also "don't split up on gens", "don't tea-bag" and "just leave". Playing Blight with certain add-ons or Nurse at all might also be added to the book, but I am not sure about it.
In essence, this mode codifies the Survivor and Killer playbook and makes them actual rules in the gameworld and only by playing "be the book" do you escape or kill.
This would provide a more casual and stress free environment for the players who are just feed up with the constant tunneling-gen-rushing-sweat-fest and want to play a more innocent version of DBD.

You know, You can just play relaxed and then eat like 10 losses until your mmr adjusts.
Trust me, it will be 100% than to be forced to play the opinions of non game designers.

I‘m not sure how this could work, but I like the idea of a gamemode with certain rules.
I for exampe would like to suggest gamesmodes like …
- only „character-own-perks“ & every survivor and item just once per team
- no perks and items at all
- specials „events“ during the match like sudden fog or entity traps,… something that brings a twist to the game, that causes a distraction on both sides
Needless to say there should be daily rituals for the gamemodes.
