Survivors dont have any good items to bring into the match
Medkits are still the best option without addons, realistically the only good addons are ultra rare now.
Nobody brings keys for aura effect(rare addon, 20 seconds of use at best), so if you bring a key you play to lose the match(hatch).
Toolboxes you basically need brand new part or stack toolbox with as many charges as possible with built to last to be useful (might be better option over medkit).
Maps are niche, basically only worth taking if you have inner strenght build.
Flash lights are ok on their own, but still worse than medkit.
In soloq the only real choices when bringing an item is do you want to heal yourself once for 24s or rush a gen with toolbox if you have addons.

Keys are pointless. Toolkboxes, medkits and torches are all very useful in the right situation.

Keys are not pointless.....they are a big "HEY KILLER TARGET ME FIRST" even with the key changes Killers target Key users first.

Toolboxes are useful. I have tons of them so I feel like I have to use them. Regardless of BNP. Keys are the only items I almost never use, plus, the many offerings that are useless.

I find Iridescent keys in every chest now, I still don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do with it.

they may not be perfect but i always bring my 'comfort' green toolbox with brown addons into every match with me lol, that lil bit of extra gen progress gives me the strength i need to carry on

I mean if your green toolbox is a Commodious and you use Scraps with the Clean Rag it's a very solid toolbox.

Well the point of the post was more that items by themselves are pretty meh outside of medkits and flashlights. So you need good addons to make them good not even op and thats the case for toolboxes, keys and flashlights. On medkits you basically have to use rare/ultra rare addons (because everything else doesnt change much)

I simply use brown medkit...
one heal is usually enough for me anyway.
