Is David Less Popular Now?
David was one of the most popular survivors. Actually he was the most popular male survivor after Dwight.
But now? I am almost never seeing him. Are people stopped play him? Why he is so rare now

I dont know there has been quite a few new survivors, alot of varied male survivors 2. Felix, Viagrrio, and jonah so im not surprised. dont really dislike or like david tho

Vittorio is actually good survivor, i liked his cosmetics. He is different type survivor and i like him for that.

Vittorio replaced him, I get at least 1 every match.

David used to be the only "hot" male survivor, now there's Felix and Vittorio. Not only are do players find them attractive but they have cosmetic options that don't suck - not saying David's are bad, just having good cosmetic options increases people wanting to use characters.

David main here (P64) and it saddens me to never see David players in my lobby 😭
And most Davids I see are usually pretty altruistic and good at the game so I like that a lot and hope to see a P100 David in my lobby soon 😁

After graphic update, his renewed face is not much attractive imo.
His cosmetics also didn't look like before and his lips are so weird.

yea, I see less and less of David. I miss getting teamed up with three shirtless David’s.
I see more and more Fengs, Leons and Elodies with a sprinkling of Janes and The rare Nancy here and there.

They stopped giving him cosmetics and all his players jumped ship. Like, the only person who's gotten less than him this last year is Elodie.

I still see them but nowhere near as much as I used to. They’ve become a rare species. The Bush is not what it once was. Players have given the message they want “sexy, glamorous, hot and cool” characters and the devs obliged.
Not complaining, I just wish they’d let me design 10 outfits for Claudette.

I've always steered clear of David because I find his grunts irritating af. It pains me to play him--the only survivor I feel that way for.
If I was a content creator, I'd 100% make a video playing David titled "If I get injured, the video ends."
Edit: I should have made one when Elodie was released, titled "If I get hooked, the video ends," then cut as soon as her scream starts.

Vitorrio is a lot more attractive imo. David will always have a special place in my heart, but Vitorrio is S+ tier to me at the moment.

Vittorio is extremely handsome, I dont think there is a female counterpart in terms of look

Most David's are P100, and playing P100 in the current climate is like asking for an unfun match, I personally stopped playing him after getting tunneled and slugged because I 'm p100 on him.
Since David and Vittorio have similar charm I mainly just play Vitto instead.
Doesn't help that David has so many joke cosmetics.

Probably a combination of
1. All bad or mediocre perks now
2. Other character being more popular/being released
3. Minimal new costumes for a long time
4. He's sooo loud compared to most survivors

Very few identify themselves with David now. I'm not playing David again for example and I used to play all survivors.

I enjoy playing Felix with Resident Evil outfit and Vittorio with his medieval/fantasy armour. For me both have more character than David.

This is exactly why I was content making sure all my Killers and Survivors were at least P3 before leveling my main.
I can't say for certain whether or not Fortnite played a big influence in this effect, but after the John Wick era, I noticed a wave of vindictive and nasty attitudes towards players who prominantly displayed their achievements for others to see. We went from "oh god, it's John Wick, he's cracked!" to "look at this loser wearing their tier 100 battlepass skin."
Being an OG (Skulltrooper/Legacy Skin) became the new status symbol, and anyone who tried to flex their grind was clout-chasing and shamed for devoting so much time to the hobby.
When BHVR announced the new prestige system, I knew players would be falling into that trap. P100 isn't so impressive now, because the new system has been out a while, but that doesn't seem to stop people from singling them out in-game.

I love playing killer against Davids. He makes the most hilarious noises. But other thirst-trap survivors exist now so David players probably jumped ship to Felix and Vittorio.

Male survivors in general area a lot rarer to come across in general tbh. A solid 80% of the survivors I play as/against are playing Feng, Nea, Claud, Kate and Zarina.

I like certain characters such as David but seldom play them because they seem more ‘hardcore’ and the same for certain cosmetics I like but don’t use. I often feel they’re telling the killer “I’m strong - come for me if you dare!”

Well they changed David so more people could be represented in the game. It doesn't make someone a bigot if they no longer identify with a character and choose not to play them. I think maybe you have some growing up to do.

- Female gamers tend to play female characters because representation.
- Gamers like to look fabulous.

"I refuse to play David King because he is gay" is a sentiment held exclusively by bigots and 2 year olds because that's the only character trait that differenciates him from the rest of the roster. And the person I was responding to said they stopped playing him because they could no longer relate (the only thing that changed is he was revealed to be gay) despite playing all of the roster.
But I guess they can relate to Yoichi, Claudette, Dwight, Felix, and Feng Min simultaniously?

Probably a lack of new cosmetics, maybe some people unconfortable with him being gay, he is big and loud, new male characters that are popular, most survivors play female survivors because they are smaller for stealth and generally make less noises.
I used to play David, but then switched to Jeff after i got some cool cosmetics for him
