Developers, Iron Maiden is Bad Design
Iron Maiden is among the worst designed Perks in the game despite being one of the worst Perks in the game, period. Look at what it does and hear this out:
- There should be no reason a Survivor should be Exposed when doing a simple action that doesn't have any input from the Killer.
- There should be no reason that it should affect Killer locker opening speeds, especially for Killers that need to reload.
This is bad design, because it allows for Killers to put a Survivor into an unearned Dying State for doing something that the Killer didn't even cause, and it makes it so that certain Killers (such as Huntress, Trickster and to an extent, the Dredge) may have to rely on the perk for its quality of life.
This Perk is among the many that need an actual redesign since it shouldn't punish players for doing something so trivial (especially for 30 seconds) and it shouldn't force players of certain characters to run it to make them better.
There should be no argument here that Iron Maiden's locker speed bonus should become base (with exception to finding a Survivor from a Locker) and that the Exposed status effect should be replaced with something else.
In my honest opinion, Iron Maiden should just be this:
- Applies the Oblivious status effect to Survivors inside of Lockers. This effect lingers for 20/25/30 seconds after the Survivor exits the Locker.
- Upon exiting a Locker, a Survivor will scream and reveal their location to you for 4 seconds.

idk man, there are way more useless perks in the game than Iron Maiden.
Iron Maiden is good if you wish to rule out use of lockers for Survivors, its a deterent.

So you admit to Iron Maiden being a useless perk then also state that it should be nerfed because "the killer didn't earn it". Make up your mind. It either does something or it doesn't.
Did you get outplayed trying to headon a killer? Cause generally it's a safe bet to assume when someone gets this heated about a really niche and off meta perk it's because it got them real good in one of their matches.

Out of the billions of match's, i can count exactly 4 time's since the perk's release that i've seen or as killer got a down because of Iron maiden's exposed effect. Not a complaint, just that the perk's exposed effect has less potential resulting in a down during a match than Haunted Grounds or Dragon's Grip does.
Getting an insta-down with Iron Maiden is in no facet un-earened. Much like Nemesis's Exposed add-on, it requires the killer to be close enough to locate the survivor and to actually get it in time, especially if they drop whatever there doing to try and capitalize on it.
I actually have to argue against making the locker interaction speed base, Survivor's just don't hide enough or Killer's are not searching locker's as often to have it warranted at base. The interaction speed, being used to decrease reload time's is pretty fair. The killer's giving up a perk slot to make a regular action faster is nothing different from bringing other perk's/add-on's to increase breaking speed's or cooldown's (it also grant's it the 1 synergy it has with another perk). Removing the interaction speed along with exposed would just kill it's usage rate more than it currently is. There are alot of perk's that apply oblivious much better.
I'v also never seen a Dredge use Iron Maiden, since the perk doesn't affect exit speed and make's entering a locker manually a little faster (i guess?), it would be a complete waste of a perk slot on it as you wouldn't get any of the other effects as survivor's are activly avoiding locker's.

It's a perk that just covers a very small niche in a big way, I think it's fine.

The only annoying thing about it is making the survivor scream no matter whether the killer is near or far
I just want it to make the survivors just scream over Terror Radius only

Lol, who the heck gonna go into the locker when killer didn't exists? what is "unearned" when sole purpose of lockers are to hide auras, evade killer powers and hide from killer's eye?
Do you even know what lockers meant to do? is it there just to mess around with? I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

I love how some of the Survivor excuses to nerf a perk is 'unearned' or 'No skill'.
- Iron Maiden gives 'unearned' downs.
- NoED gives 'unearned' downs.
- Any Killer they dislike 'takes no skill'.
- Etc.
It's like some Survivors actually think they get to dictate what counts a skill for their opponent, and then want changes based on their subjective viewpoint.

And I don't even get what's "trivial" in hiding in locker too, realistically speaking there is basically no way killers can find someone on the locker, it's extremely strong and impactful, how can you say that is "trivial"?

The problem isn't just that Iron Maiden is useless (for the most part), it's the fact that the Perk:
- Severely punishes players for a minor action that doesn't directly involve the Killer in any way
- Affects a statistic for the Killer that should simply be basekit
- Creates necessity for certain Killers that it doesn't need to if the effect was basekit
This is just inherently poor design since a Perk like this should not have any of this. Killers should not have a quality of life feature be relegated to a Perk and should never be rewarded for something they never directly impacted, nor be rewarded for a Survivor doing a simple action.
See, the problem with what you're stating is that you're stating this to a Killer main and not a Survivor main.

But literally no one enters the locker without some kind of reasons that involve killers? are you sure you know what you are talking about?
I don't even think it needs to be basekit as this perk is nothing more than QoL too? don't think it shouldn't be basekit neither though.

Well, its a new height after a "nerf lightborn" demands.

I use inner healing most matches now and I don't mind iron maiden. If the killer leaves whomever they're chasing to come get exposed me on the other side of the map, good luck to them. I'll be long gone and probably won't be exposed anymore.

Iron Maiden is a nice perk, useful for some killers and imo doesnt need any changes.

It absolutely is NOT just QOL. Is it QOL to be able to vault windows too? Sounds stupid. Lockers have specific interactions that are very much needed in game (tombstone meyers, bubba with charged M2, legion in ability, dodging BBQ against huntress, getting rid of crows for artist and sure enough - sometimes even hiding (which can be done also mid chase) ). Make this basekit and you are removing one more interaction.
Supposed this to be a thing - then disable undetectable, blindness and oblivious - because it would be "more fun" to allow less
things to be part of the game /s
Absolutely not. The perk is niche - it helps with certain rare interactions, but it does it very well. This is IMO very good design. You don't need the perk, but it absolutely enhances your game if taken as killer.

Make your choice is another one that is pretty bs too, unhooking a survivor(a survivor objective) is punished for doing what they are ment to do, wraiths/dredges/sadakos are the 3 notorious killers that loves using this perk. Heck they add hubris, a perk that expose you for hitting the killer with a pallet. Perks made for a survivor doing their jobs is very much stupid but ah well we already know since 6.1 and now that the game will be more and more killer sided and hence will increase swfs (that people complain about all the time)

We're complaining about Sadako and Hubris now?

If you know how to read there is a difference of stating something and complaining of it, I said that they make these expose perks for survivors doing their job or using their resources, but ofc people like you are always just wanting to beef with stupid assumptions. Did I say I have a problem about sadako? I said she is one of the obvious killers that would use a perk like this. Pretty common sense to know some killers run certain perks because it syncs well with them
