If we're being honest with ourselves... Trickster needs a nerf.
Playing a lot as him recently, and i gotta be honest, i dunno if i just know how to play him right or if its because of the relatively recent rank reset, but i have consistently been WAY too accurate on shots.
Im consistently getting really weird luck shots, like REALLY lucky chase-ending shots off on some survivors, there needs to be some tweak to the hitboxes he can hit to make it like 5% more difficult to land hits or something.
I hear a lot about how trickster is one of those all survivors kinda hate for whatever reason, but like im consistently doing better than i think i should, and if he could just be scootched down a notch i think it would be for the best.

I have 700+ hours in the game, have been playing since it was free on epic. it honestly seems more likely that the devs just lied about it/changed it without telling anyone than it actually being true that rank means nothing.
when playing in ash/bronze, im constantly hit with new survivors that dont really have any coordination, that are generally mediocre players, and who i can usually easily sweep except for occasions where one just ragequits and i go a little easy on the rest as recompense for the disrespect.
when playing in gold/iri, im consistently hit with experienced survivors that have pristine map layout coordination, can loop excellently, and take advantage of the killers' weak spot, no matter who i play.
Generally, in my experience, on any given day of playing this game over a long period, it starts off with a game a little easier and tilted in my favor, and then adjusts the difficulty the more that i play. If im getting 2/3/4k's consistently, the difficulty increases in a very noticable way. If im struggling getting hooks or kills, the game will give me a clearly more forgiving match for a round or two, then amp it up back to normal.
What rank im in when playing this game affects this^ drastically, changing where the starting point is for difficulty, and how pressed it might be in giving me a forgiving match.
If this is no one elses experience, i might very well just have as much a unique experience in playing as my playstyle is unique. I always focus on being fair and forgiving, and maybe im just built different and get favorable matches cuz whatever algorithm likes my playstyle.
A concern that i do have however is whether i might be somehow accidentally smurfing? its happened before (with oni) where i end up consistently giving people a break because they seem new or they d/c and i just get caught in a loop of the game not recognizing the overbearing difference in skill because i go easy, and putting me in what it thinks are 'appropriate' matches?
if you have more thoughts put em down

Trickster used to be the worst ranged killer in the game until they nerfed Deathslinger, and the introduction of more maps with LoS breakers everywhere is only making him worse. He definitely does not need a nerf.

“rank reset” doesnt exist, grades dont matter at all. Matchmaking is based off your mmr

Strength-wise, he is fine. If anything, he needs buffs.
But considering that someone would want to change him - then make his camping ability much worse. He is the only ranged killer, that has no after-hit cooldown. That means that if trickster camps basement with 1 survivor and 3 survivors decide to get that one out, it would not be weird for killer to end in 4K then and there (something only Bubba can do - but he can use his ability for shorter time making it easier to bait out).
Of course nerfing him (by say giving him after-healthstate cooldown) would just necessitate to buff him back in some other way

Think about this. In every single way he is a weaker version of huntress. Why would we nerf someone who is just a sub form of another killer?

Trickster has more ammo than Huntress and has to stop and reload less often, making him a strong hook camper.
So Trickster is not actually weaker in every single way. They are two different killers.

Most dishonest argument I've ever seen.
Considering
- The Trickster has to hit more than 1 knife to injure a Survivor.
- The knife gauge can decay over time.
- He still has to reload.
- His Main Event can power up at bad times.
- It still decays, even if he does not use it.
Maybe try to be more honest?

Nerfing Trickster is an odd take - but he may be one of those who demolishes more inexperienced survs who don't know just how crucial positioning & LOS is against him (and even if they know in theory execution is still lacking).
His camping potential is among the highest in the game (which is why I personally dislike him) - and he does have some busted addons (bouncy knives on e.g. Lerys is basically gg then and there if no other extraordinary circumstances are at play). But nearly all killers have one or two busted add-ons that completely change how far up the tierlist a killer is.
All that being said; imo his camping ability and Main Event need looking at. The former needs a nerf, the latter a buff. But outside of that... he's a bit annoying but alright (his skill ceiling as far as his power goes is rather low and there is only so much you can do to counter; you can break LOS only for so long; it's a bit on the uninspired side gameplay wise, imo).

I wasn't trying to be honest. It was sarcasm.

The easiest and strongest way to nurf some Trickster gameplay is to hand you the controller and have you try him on my Xbox.

Yes agreed. It is much weaker. I'm glad you agree 😊

VALID.

if you could prove this to me, id be happy to believe you, but just from personal experience, theres no way i can believe this. Consistently ive seen evidence of rank reset concept, and maybe thats just me, but if you can find me a source on this i wanna know whats actually going on (or whats supposed to be going on)

We can only go on from what devs provided us. And when they implemented MMR instead of grades, they explicitly said MMR will be permanent and hidden (it was in live Q&A about year ago - maybe more).
What can happen is, that just before rank reset a lot of people will tryhard to get their iri1 rank - playing extra sweaty. Once grades reset, they again have a full month of time so they can maybe play a bit more chill...

Ranks reset every 13th of the month. They have nothing to do with match making. They’re for earning bp only. Out of curiosity how new are you? That’s been common knowledge for a while. Or are you just new to posting on the DBD Forums?
