Can anyone show me any video record of a killer defending 3 gens from the start while the survivors cannot do ANYTHING about it and being held hostage for an infinite amount of time ?

In the CURRENT meta.

Thanks.

Edit : the Hens video is OUTDATED. You cannot do that anymore.

Wasn't holding the game hostage via 3 gens only during a certain time? I'm not sure it still happens because the perks don't allow for such a playstyle and killers who had a strong 3-gen, have been changed so their playstyle isn't only that strategy. I don't think I see people claim this still happens, more that it happened at a certain point in time.

It would be more appropriate to address if killers can still and do defend 3-gens from the start and whittling survivors and whether that strategy can be countered by survivors or not (not counting SWF).

    NOPE

This is old meta with CoH, Eruption, Overcharge. These perks have been nuked and reduced to dust.

Anything else with the CURRENT meta of the LIVE game ?

Do you have any video record of that ? Why did you give up ? Why did it last 30min+ ?

I am not saying 3gen strat doesn’t exist, but I am wondering if there is no counter like a lot people are claiming.

So you are saying the SM would force one survivor away, but what were the other 3 survivors doing during that time ? Was it an indoor map against a whole team of soloQ ?

How did she managed to regress and compete with the progression the 4 survivors got on gens ? What perks were she using ?

It's absolutely still possible to achieve the gens spawn too close together there's always an area with 4 gens close together and killers like skull merchant and doctor can hold a area based solely off their power and not chase potential, my proof? The developers themselves have made it a bannable offense to use the Doctor to hold a 3 gen for an extended period of time with madness without chasing and just preventing survivors from any interaction in the area and there are threads you can find yourself confirming this and not because Doctor is OP or strong but because the way his power works can be abused in those situations easily if he chooses to just hold one area and not actively leave and keep force madness repeatedly,

That being said there are only a handful of killers who have this potential and the rest don't possess the power to do it and it's on the survivors for allowing it if it's not a killer that can by default hold a 3 gen based off their power

Countering 3 gen in solo is hard, no doubt about that. I'd say the 'best' (or at least viable) strategy for solo is to be the survivor that works to break the 3 gen.

Running something like visionary or deja vu can help visualize the potential 3 gens and work from there. Also using an irri map with purple thing to show everyone and yellow bead to show your location helps but that obviously requires a high cost item and addons.

I think with some combo of current pop, pain res, Eruption, jolt and some good RNG its possible, although I definitely agree it is no longer as easy for the killer to pull off.

Suffocation pit (so she never had to the top side of the map), I was solo, I’d assume my teammates were as well and she was running Pain Res, DMS, Jolt and another perk. Like I said earlier, a 4 man with good game knowledge that was genuinely trying could have busted it, but solo q is the majority and it is a terrible experience to play someone who plays like someone’s holding a gun to their head. There’s a reason people are playing SM in comp matches.

Oh yes I do understand, I am not asking you to do it (if that is ever possible). But in case you go against a killer who manage to do that successfully, please record this.

When we want to balance the game I think it’s important to have real practice and experience and not only talk about what could be done in theory. For exemple, when Hyperfocus was release I remember Otz was trying to show to his audience how OP this perk was and ended up blowing generators and wasting time more than anything else. This showed that in theory the perk was broken but in practice : even good players could get negative value.

I have the same problem with "3gen from the start", some people say that in theory it is impossible to beat but I have never seen anyone do that in my lobbies that’s why I am asking for record to see if that can be actually be done and if yes if like some people say there is no counter at all.

And yes, I am investigating this because BHVR said they want to fix this strat, almost if that is an exploit.

Here you have SupaAlf, trying to lock a 3gens early on with good game sense and securing kills by camping. Is he using exploits ?

Even with DM, it's possible to beat if you have a good enough team.

The issue is that even comp teams aren't gonna wanna waste 45 minutes breaking a 3-gen.

BHVR wants to fix this strat because it’s extremely unenjoyable to play against and they’ve stated themselves it’s not an intended strategy.

There are only a few cases where I can see how a killer would be able to hold a 3 gen from start to finish nowadays. Mostly killers that have addons and powers that might support it with builds dedicated to it and a good map with a strong 3 gen along. In a normal game I doubt it's realistic to still hold the game hostage for 1 hour straight.

Although that isn't a bad thing and breaking a 3 gen is not going to be fun against any killer that has at least some kind of slow down. It's just one of these obnoxious tactics, that aren't really 'unfair' but most definitely unfun.

It’s funny because I read the other thread asking why BHVR did this change and how killers are supposed to play the game to understand more what they are trying to do and here is what you said :

« An INFINITE 3–gen until the server closes »

So now, with an average killer how do you do that ? Let’s say Trapper, Wraith or Trickster.

Some killers excel at 3 gen early and holding it. Those killers specifically should be adjusted, but overall, if BHVR wants killers to stop 3 gen defense from the get-go, then they need to give them some positive reinforcement to leave those gens. For example, slow m1 killers with no map traversal options and no chase\loop power USED to be able to leave a 3 gen since they had gen regression options to at least make up for time lost in extended chases. With gen regression being nerfed into oblivion, now they have no choice BUT to defend those 3 gens right off the bat since they can't quickly get to gens further away from each other and they can't regress them without being there physically to chase off survivors.

Long story short, BHVR keeps removing everything that encourages killers to leave a 3 gen. They used to be able to run off and chase, and if they down someone, PR would buy them some of the time they lost - even on gens that aren't part of a 3 gen. Essentially, those m1 killers need to be able to manage gens across the map as a whole. With regression no longer being a valid strategy, they have to hold onto those close 3 gens at all costs otherwise be almost guaranteed a loss. They just can't travel across the map fast enough to get to gens further away from each other. At least old PR let them remotely manage gens.

Your bias is showing. Next time pretend to be objective at least.

Solo survivor cannot co-ordinate because they don't have the means to do so. If 3-gen is ok for you, I expect you to start advocating for more ways for solo survivors to communicate. That's the only way they can co-ordinate.

Were you also one of those people saying you can guess when Eruption will trigger just from aura reading?🙄
