Can't add anyone to a friends list

Hi!
My friends decided to give a chance to this game, and i tried to do a friend requests so do they tried, and i dont know if its a cross-play issue but we can't invite to a friends list anyone.
When we are tying nicks, this little circle at the bottom is spinning all the time, hope that we will play together soon!

Same issue for me too. waiting to add my steam friend.

I'm having this problem too, and so are all my friends.
We can add people if they are already in lobby with us, but the search isn't working. We just get a spinning icon forever
