Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Slugging is not a problem and is a viable strategy

Slugging for a minute or so is 100% not a game flaw, it is a tactic a killer can use to gain pressure, it is a high risk high reward situation for the killer most times.

I cannot fathom why people want base kit unbreakable, Using that logic, you shouldn’t be able to 99% generators or gates, it should be blocked by the entity if you attempt to do it as you are longing out the game, that’s the same logic being used against slugging, but obviously 99% gens and gates are a viable tactic for teams to get 4 man escapes. So why is it such a problem for a killer to slug for the 4K

Now, there is a problem when it comes to slugging for no reason just to long out the game (eg when you are the last survivor remaining and are downed.) But base kit unbreakable is definitely not the right answer for this, a system where you can bleed out after being downed for over a minute would make much more sene. (over a minute to not allow for people to abuse in order to rage quit games without a ban.)

summary - Just as survivors use 99% gens and gates to try and get a 4 man escape, killers use slugging to get a 4 man down or to further increase pressure, both sides have counters, Killers have Blood Warden , Ruin and no way out, survivors have soul hard , unbreakable and that one boon totem perk, so why complain about slugging?

Yeah I understand the BMing part, but like I said a bleed out system should do the job, base kit unbreakable just seems wild.

Because in every case it is as boring as it could be for every survivor. Don't get me wrong, I too slug survies whenever I want a 4k (be it because of a tome challenge, adept trophy or simply because they triggered me somehow) and there's only 2 survivors left, but I sure as hell hate it when they do it to me, because sometimes you are downed for the first time and have to spend 2 minutes waiting for the killer to come hook you, without being able to play the game. 99ing gens can be annoying, granted, but both 99ing gens and gates leave room for the killer to play the game and do something. Survivors doing this are not preventing the killer from achieving their goal. While slugging do prevent the survivors from acomplishing their goals, if all they can do is run to another downed survivor and heal them just for the killer to slug them again.

That said, I'm not entirely sold on having unbreakable base kit, either. Because there are situations in which, yeah, you might just leave a survivor on the floor and engage in a chase in hopes that other survivor will show up and waste time healing the downed one.

Although I agree it can be annoying, 2 minutes of your time especially when it does not happen very often at all is not really a big deal, although a bleed out function would help.

Agreed. 4 min bleed out is rough and could use a lookin but outside of that it's legit.

There should be an option for the 4 minute long bleed out problem, be it one surv or all of them. Unlimited and/or basekit UB is not the solution granted, that's too strong.

A bleed out option as others have brought up is likely the way to go. After 60 seconds does seen fair, and I don't see very many abusable scenarios.

    Worth testing.

The amount of times i have dealt with a killer letting people bleed out and die for no reason is so small i can probably count it on one hand. Now, the amount of times survivors intentionally hide in a corner of the map where a hook has been destroyed such that it becomes impossible to hook them, i encounter that at least a couple times a week.

I don't think slugging is viable strategy vs strong teams. you need to down survivors 12+ times repetitively to even come close to bleeding out survivors. Its way easy for survivor team to counter it. swf demolishes it and even soloq can easily beat killers.

Slugging is ok if you get to 3vs1 by tunneling someone out and attempt to slug 3 remaining players to 1 hook them. It relies on 2 survivors misplaying two consecutive chases in a row and finding last survivor. Mostly works on weak survivor teams from my experience.

Survivors cannot pressure the killer in any comparable way to how the killer can with slugging, especially if they decide to slug 2 survivors. The only thing the other 2 can do is try to pick them up or lose the match. 2 survivors aren't going 3, 4 or 5 gens before the killer finds them. The 99% gen gate argument is something that hardly ever happens in solo play and is a SWF tactic. Solo que survivors will always lose against a killer that uses excessive slugging to win. This is why the amount of time killers can leave a survivor on the ground needs to be limited. Survivors can come and pick you up but if the killer sees you its over.

My problem with sluggers is that they are never there when you actually want them! Where were the sluggers when I was working on the Ash Buckle Up challenge???

They could make it so that it only activates when all remaining survivors are down on the ground and it doesn't activate if the gates are open. That way you can still use it as a viable tactic if you decide to down one person and engage in a second chase close by.

I feel like 99ing the gate isn't an accurate comparison since killers can open the gate also and start the EGC. Survivors can't force themselves to bleed out faster, they have to wait 4 min or until the killer decides to pick them up. I don't care about basekit UB anyway (unless it's with the Finisher Mori), I feel like there are better ways to apply risk to slugging... making bleed outs not count as kills for one. This won't eliminate slugging, killers will still have the option, but it will probably lessen the amount of time a survivor has to just lay there as the killer will likely want the kill.

Would be a bit difficult to both slug and open the gate to start EGC.

Slugging is perfectly fine, slugging doesn't mean 4 min bleed out.

No, then there would be no point in slugging at all, if everyone is down and 3 people can pick themselves up and you only get 1 hook then what was the point?
