Am I the only freak that thinks the game experience would be much better with 5-8 perk slots?

Look, you need to actually have a good reason for making fairly fundamental changes to the game, as well as be able to demonstrate that such changes will not have significantly negative consequences. Instead, you seem to just be adamantly declaring that it should happen and things will be fine, but when asked to defend your stance, you seem to repeatedly fall back on "Look how many perks we have now! Isn't it crazy that we still only have four slots?" And if someone says "...No.", what rebuttal do you have beyond "Yes."?

maybe finish high school then tell people to repeat it themselves kid, just cuz there are more perks does not mean there needs to be more slots, the math argument doesn't hold water cuz the devs didn't give us four perk slots at the start based on how many perks there were in the beginning, the devs weren't saying okay we have x amount of perks so based on that we will give survivors y amount of perk slots lol they gave us 4 slots because that is enough slots to mix match perks within to build a fair build, having 122 perks doesn't change that logic, regardless of how many there are they all can be put into categories where as certain perks have stuff in common with other perks etc etc, so really nothing has changed, you got 4 slots you can mix match categories or you can fill up that build with 4 perks from the same category. but your math argument doesnt work cuz it was never based on the number of perks vs perk slots to begin with so stop humiliating people and just work on getting a better build and getting better at the game and then you won't feel the need to have more than 4 perk slots to do better in the game.

Thing is that it wasn't JUST X slots for Y perks.
It's X slots for Y perks at Z power. If you want to increase X without breaking the game then it's Z that you need to change with it and not Y. Or in otherwords what would justify adding perk slots is not MORE perks but WEAKER perks. Otherwise the perks end up overshadowing the minute to minute gameplay.
Any given perk build does not care about the total number of perks that exist since you aren't using those perks. All you care about is if there is the right X perks to make your build work. In general there is usually BARELY enough slots to make any given build work. This means you cannot go jack of all trades and be effective, you have to have a solid idea behind the build.
Decreasing the overall power behind any given perk lets you have more slots while maintaining the need for specialization. But increasing the perk slots and total perks eventually means you can do everything at once with very little drawback

I don't buy it @TAG also
The number of perks it is directly related to the number of slots
I can get better builds with new bigger combinations of perks currently can't, and will be bigger with the increase of perks
Example 1: now you have unnerving presence + distressing like a typical dual combo, as typical dual combos there are many others. With the new perks more combos will appear making no room for the essentials
Example 2: in 5yrs you will have 20 perks for building a sprinter build vs the 7 you have now, logic
Example 3: new perks bring new needs, for instance, new perks to fight back, steal items, craft items.. will make impossible to combine enough of them for a build with just 4 slots
I dont know why I need to explain this so much, for me its clear as water

wow my comment magically disappears? Kid you need to finish high school before telling people to complete or repeat high school. Your math argument does not hold water cuz when this game came out the 4 perk slots were never based on how many perks the game had so it doesn't matter how many we have now cuz the devs never looked at perks as "ok we have x amount of perks so we need y amount of perk slots" they looked at the ability to put perk builds together that weren't to op or weak and even with all the perks we have now there are a lot of perks that can be put into the same categories as other perks so basically you just gotta mix match until you find what works for you, you an either have 4 perks from different categories or 4 perks from the same type of category or do what most people do and experiment until you find a perk build that suits your playstyle. I am sorry that you feel you need more than 4 perks to be good at this game and succeed but just be patient try different builds until you find one that works for you and i think you will see that you don't really "NEED" more than 4 perk slots and the game was never intended for more than 4 perk slots and that is the reason your math argument doesn't hold water kiddo sorry.

What you are arguing in this post is that more perk slots would lead to more powerful builds, not that the number of perk slots and the number of perks in the game are directly related.

Replied above

Partially, is an example

i'm sure for hitler his plan for his "better world" was clear as water in his own mind now but doesn't make it a good idea again sorry. there is a reason you seem to be the only person in this thread that thinks we need more perk slots lol. It just seems like you "want" a stronger build to do better in the game that is really the vibe i am getting.

Your example doesn't demonstrate anything about the dependency of perk slots and # of perks in the game. At best, it demonstrates that as more perks are added to the game, choices will have to be made with regards to which direction you want your character builds to go and which perks are the best for that goal. And you have certainly not demonstrated that that is a bad thing.

It is a matter of complete the builds when so many choices will make no room to have fun with cool perks
Now you have to choose between sabotage, healer, sprinter... Builds (4 perks) but with 122 perks you will have to choose among x7 more lol is it THAT much hard to capsize?
I want a real reply with higher IQ than mine

Well, as is in game, you would choose the 4 for the situation you expect to encounter.

Woah u started to get it! Congrats
More perks = more choices to the point it will be impossible to make a complete build, frustrating

Why is that a bad thing?

i make a complete build everytime i have played for 3 years and do just fine in the game without the need for extra perks, sure sometimes i wish i could run certain perks together but doing so would make me as a survivor way stronger than i need to be as a survivor, it shouldn't be an easy game and right now with a 4 perk build you can wreck a killer if you do it correctly, i honestly get a vibe that you just want to be a stronger survivor and you think you need xtra perks to beat killers more often. If it ain't broke don't fix it and the survival/death ratio is perfectly fine right now and as a survivor main i honestly think i survive a lot more than i should be but because of certain perk builds it gives me huge upperhands in certain scenarios and that is with 4 perks, if i had even more then i would be way to OP in those same scenarios even if killers had the same amount of perk builds. sorry man, IQ has nothing do with knowing that the perk system is perfectly fine, sorry you are frustrated and have a hard time deciding which perks you want but adding perk slots does not fix the game or help it in any way other than making your decision making easier. Again there is a reason that NOONE is really agreeing with you. So to answer the question from the title of this post: YES

Thanks bro, I still bet that in 5yrs we will have more than 4 slots, so save this thread and remind me by then

Lmao. Survivors would have every crutch under the sun. Decisive Strike, Deliverance, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Sprint Burst, self-care, urban evasion
Its bad enough now

okie dokie kiddo
1 -
Exactly! thank you, the devs knew what they were doing when they decided for 4 perk slots and no matter how many perks get added 4 slots is still more than enough to build up a set of perks that will help you through most situations

Maybe a fifth slot but it has to fit the characters basic traits. Claudette for example has to pick a healing perk for that slot (not including sc).

I don't see the issue, everyone has their own playstyle. I personally know the six I would take if it was possible as a survivor and none of the are DS or DH. Outside of that, the point of having that limit is to create a sense of challenge and make you actually think about what you are choosing.

5 PERK EXAMPLE
Endgame---NOED, Blood Warden, Remember Me, Rancor, Bitter Murmur
Basement Party---Iron Grasp, Agitation, Mad Grit, Territorial Imperative, Make Your Choice
Anti-Heal---Sloppy Butcher, Distressing, Coulrophobia, Thanatophobia, Bloodhound
The Runner---Sprint Burst, Self-Care, Adrenaline, Vigil, Borrowed Time
The Sabotuer---Sabotuer, Breakdown, Deliverance, D-Strike, Small Game
Gen Jockey---Prove Thyself, Resilience, Urban Evasion, Technician, This is Not Happening
The Healer---Autodidact, Empathy, Self-Care, We'll Make It, Adrenaline
As you can see these are all builds that are solid with 4 perks but the 5th perk is a bonus perk that boosts the overall strategy of the build, the 5th isn't always necessary and can always be switched out with something else but it only serves to boost what you are already doing. It can be powerful if used correctly but it is evened out because the otherside ALSO has a bonus perk to combat yours. 5 perks is no problem because both sides are still fair in no matter what they bring in.
If anything the Survivors are more powerful because they can also bring in items which boost their build tremendously and still warrant 5 perks for Killers.
