Is there any plans to add a penalty for hook suicides?

As it stands, there is a massive increase in players suiciding on hook to get out of matches they decide they don't like. Since this is just avoiding the DC penalty, is there any plans for punishing players who do this?

I already sense people that will try to justify it

It's a good concept to punish those who skip by hook suicides however I think it would be very difficult to implement a system that works.

"whenever I see killer in my 4man bully squad and he is not able to do anything, he just goes to corner and afk's which ruins my fun. I demand you punish said killer for it".

That's about how I read your thread. You are forcing other people to play out the game for your enjoyment, demanding punishments if they don't oblige.

Nobody should be forced to play the game for your benefit no matter what side we are talking about

The problem here is you depend on your team mates. This is especially important in Solo Q where chances of escaping drop significantly when you are left 3 instead of 4. It's not that much about the fun but rather the fact that survivors function best as team and if there's monkey among you, chances are your amazing skills won't be enough to make out alive because of killer's snowball.

Completely different to dcing as a survivor, if you dc / suicide on the hook then you basically mess up the game for the rest of the team, if you're going to be a baby and dc/suicide on the hook the moment you get down then don't get into a game and ruin it for the others.

Start by fixing the unlaying problems, why people do this in the first place (camping, tunneling, hiding teammates, Skull Merchant and the list goes on).

You cannot force people to play a game, they are not enjoying. What do you think will happen if people cannot suicide on hook? Yes, they'll just run at the killer or go AFK. They'll still be useless.

Also, unhooking yourself is a valid mechanic in the game. There is no way to make the distinction between the two.

I'm not seeing this "massive" amount of people letting go. Even DCs aren't common in my games. Usually the only time they happen is when someone is being camped (letting go) or tunnelled (DCs) and I only see those strats maybe once every 12 games or so.

Penalizing ragequitting/griefing/DCs is a normal practice in the games in which you heavily reliant on your teammates. Without such a system you'll get leavers in your every second game which is...unhealthy for the game experience. You genuinely want to face something like that in DBD? Oh, wait...

It doesn't matter how much you punish people for not wanting to play, they still won't play. Even if you manage to keep them in the game they will at best be useless and at worst sandbag their teammates to get the game over with faster. I'd rather have one less teammate than one who's actively working against the team.

Forcing people to play for my enjoyment is not the same as not wanting them to actively ruin everyone's because they're not personally having fun.
