An Oxymoron in the Patch notes?

  • Increased the fog on the map, to help with visibility making it feel less cluttered when looking at a distance.

It means the map is still way too cluttered, so they added fog to give the illusion that it's not as bad. So now killer get to deal with too much clutter AND survivors are more difficult to see because of the fog. So now the map is worse than it was before.

And we're supposed to have faith that BHVR cares about map balance, when they do this to us? If the map is too cluttered, the solution is to remove some of the clutter!

I mean that if you cant see what's in the distance then it makes you feel like there is less things around you.

I don't care about the visual clutter, it's the collison of these random bits that I get randomly stuck on that bother me.

This is honestly how i interpreted it. The map is super cluttered, so we increased the fog so you can't see the clutter. It's still there of course, but you can't see it, so its not cluttered anymore.

Honestly agree, would have given me another map to play Ghostface on which is something i wish there were more maps that benefited him and other stealth killers in general.

I'm actually a little curious to hear an explanation on that too.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the idea is to limit how much rich detail is actually relevant at any given moment, to prevent the amount of visual clutter from becoming overwhelming, but I'd have no frame of reference for if that would like... work, or if it's an accepted tactic in visual design in general.

Because Billy can't have nice things.

Seriously, just hiding the clutter only makes it worse.

It's not an accepted tactic, but BHVR is trying it anyway. Meanwhile, they didn't fix the red saturation problem, so it's still giving some people headaches and nausea...

The map needs to be way smaller if it is going to be super cluttered and foggy. The hide and seek part of the game isn't fun at all, if survivors get to hide for free, just because there's thousands of objects blocking line of sight, and fog to hide them if for some reason they aren't behind an object.
