I just want -somewhere in the middle- matches, ya know
Like, do a bit of chase where I put at least some effort and am ok with how I did, not impossible or easy, just right. Do a lil of this and that, have a chance to play the game but other side has as well.
Kill or escape, killed or escaped from. Shouldn't matter as long as both sides had good interaction and a chance.
And games are rarely this in dbd. Also most people seem satisfied with effortless wins and want them even more effortless, any kind of obstacle and they want it gone. Of course I am not talking about legit complaints, but if someone just pushes one side and wants it's complete domination then I have an issue with that.
I don't consider myself above this, in fact due to impulses I can also say things I will prolly disagree with when I reflect on them with cool head later, but how many people do this at least?
Sorry, I wanted to ask if others felt like this and went on a bit of community rant instead.
How do you guys feel tho, what kind of matches do you enjoy most?

I like my opponent to struggle enough to make me sweat a little. But ultimately I like winning and I like winning often.
I don't really play games where I don't win a lot.

I think the game should be fair and fun. Its what games are all about. But for some reason people want to destroy the other side

I don't think this game can be fair but I do feel it's more fun when both sides have a chance and are some challenge to each other.
Does that go for pvp games only?
Would you play a sp game where you die a lot but you can finish it with enough patience, practice and effort?
In general, since you prefer wins, do you like wins where you really had to challenge yourself and do something hard or easy wins more?
Sorry if this is too much, I understand if you choose not to reply.

People are competitive and like to play different. Ik for a fact I hate losing when it boils down to maps, RNG, and surv builds. But what can I do except try harder and play dirty.
At the end of the day winning is winning and not a lot of people care how they get it.

Typically the matches on fair maps are my favorite. I believe maps are cause for a lot of frustration with loops/LOS blockers or lack of pallets/windows for survivors. for example most of my coal tower matches are pretty fun, while most of my corn matches as killer or midwich as survivor are horrid.

I'll never turn down a chance to talk about myself don't worry. 😁
Yeah pretty much for pvp games that's my mindset to keep them from being miserable.
Single players are a bit different since their difficulty is finite and I can chip away at them at my own pace.
Going against another human brain is a different endeavor. I strive to be above average to where I can hold my own against most players and have fun with my friends, but the effort that goes beyond that to truly be among the best of the best I reserve for irl stuff or other games. I have immense respect who put that much dedication to their craft for sure though.
When it comes to dbd, that's why I'm personally in favor of having unbalanced stuff. The game is for fun at the end of the day, and as long as both sides have equal opportunity to do crazy things I think that leads to a fun game.
I'm not exactly trying to work my brain to the bone to get blood points. It takes all the fun out of the game for me.

I want a decent shot at winning aka I dont want to escape with 0 hooks or all die at 5 gens.
I dont like stomping or getting stomped.

Same. Even i lose with 8+ hooks, i am not feeling so bad. Because i know i did not play bad. Or when i save my teammate at end game and make it 2+ man escape while killer had 8+ hooks.
These matches are usually close and fun. Both sides had equal chance to win.
But when i destroy other side, game is really not fun. Like killing all survivors at 4 gens left or 4 man escaping while killer had 2 - 3 hooks. These matches just feel unfair and i am blaming mmr usually.
