Rework Concept for the Pig

The Pig has always been one of the worst Killers in the game since her release way back in Chapter 7, and it mainly comes down to the many painful flaws in her Power design, namely:

  • Awfully lacking ambush ability; survivors can literally run to another loop while you're trying to set it up
  • Her stealth is painful and clunky to use, she has to move at 3.6m/s (slower than the Nurse) which makes walking normally more time efficient and unlike Myers or Ghost Face she can't attack while in stealth and is either forced to use either her Ambush which is laughably easy to avoid or she has to actually exit stealth which has a whole animation before she can M1
  • Struggles in the early game without any real chase power and if she can't get traps set up quickly enough, they will not bear much value for the whole trial
  • Reverse Bear Traps are negligible without add-ons and slowdown perks

Here are some changes that I, a Pig main, think would benefit her:

  • Increase crouched movement speed from 3.6m/s to 3.8m/s (GF recently had this change so it would make sense for Pig to have it too)
  • Pig should be able to fast vault pallets and windows mid Ambush, however doing so cancels the Ambush (Makes her ambush more viable in chase)
  • Increase death timer 2.5 minutes to 3 minutes, however all survivors must search 4 of the 5 Jigsaw boxes to remove the trap and a trap can only be applied to the same Survivor once (removes the aspects of RNG from her traps, and guarantees every game that her traps can generate slowdown if she can get them on survivors)

    Don't use her Ambush outside of a select few Loops and crouch into them (the Pallet) so you can ambush lunge out of it into the Survivor.

    [That being said I do like the idea of her being able to Legion Vault Pallets/Vaults, but can't think of a way to implement it at the moment that doesn't have her using it all the time]

    Her Crouch can get you an early hit when utilizing LoS blockers, effectively starting a chase with the Survivor already Injured.

    RBT's have already had their RNG rework so that at minimum if all Traps are used Survivors have searched 10 Boxes (Or around there), meaning if one Survivor gets their RBT off first try, everyone else has to search 4 Boxes each.


    That being said her largest flaw is that she needs a down first to start utilizing the slowdown portion of her Power, the first down being the time when Survivors have the most amount of map resources available to them, meaning she can get snowballed pretty hard, especially if the first few Survivors RBT'ed have few searches.

    Her video-tap addon is cute and thematic, but is gimped by the fact that all Survivors taking off their RBT's at the same time mean that once everyone has theirs off, her Power isn't pulling a survivor aside over the course of the match anymore, which is what makes her better able to pressure the other three Survivors.

    And the problem with making her Ambush more powerful to better secure that first down is that she can then snowball that into her pretty hefty delay.


    If you want to improve her Ambush to be more chase oriented, you need to tone down her delay a bit, not amp up both.

    Might want to try suggesting playstyle shifting addons first, and see how those go over.

    they already removed RNG from her traps.

    You will have a result for each outcome -> 1/2/3/4. Only order of those results is random.

    As a new player with Pig, I would actually like:

    -Traps can't be removed unless they are active.

    It's so annoying when the traps take like 20 seconds to be off the survivor and then you can't have more... At least make them worried a little while they search

    You can semi-achieve that with Ruleset No.2 addon. Jigsaw box auras are hidden until the traps are active.

    Her boxes/slowdown mechanic is largely fine, specially with the reduced randomness on how many jigsaw boxes you have to explore to remove. It should average out to be 3 most of the time.

    Pig's main issue is she is weak in chase. her ambush mechanics are cool, but survivors who know what they're doing will deny her ability to use it by simply running pallet to pallet, which is far to effective against her.... It is a shame, cause that "which way" ambush mind game is a lot of fun when you get to use it...

    A lot of people suggest a faster pallet break at base for the Pig as a solid improvement to make this less effective. That would work I think, but I'm trying to think of a way that the Pig can break pallets that still makes sense... Has to involve a mini saw of some kind right? :P

    However the ambush vault over pallet is a nice take too... she feels like a character that should be able to do it... combined with the crouch speed buff, it may be fine, I'd be concerned with the movement speed slowdown combined with the ambush charge time though to be able to make meaningful use out of it... would have to see how it works in practise. Faster crouching speed and ambush charge add-ons would be an ABSOLUTE requirement... Workshop Grease and Combat Straps would be GodTier here

    IG you've got a point there, but her stealth is so painfully slow, they should increase it nonetheless. It makes getting around the map feel clunky AF.

    I like that change although it can basically be achieved by the ruleset addon, maybe they could make rule set basekit but I don't know if that would be too strong from a Survivor perspective.

    Personally what I would love is to rework Amanda's secret to allow you to reuse traps once they are taken off with the current penalty of not being able to see jigsaw box auras

    Right now, that addon is just taking a penalty for no reason at all

    well, ruleset n2 base kit would be useful too. I havent used it myself tho, as my build is the "you wont be abel to take that trap off" but it not always works... i just want kills with traps hahaha

    As for running and crouching, she should have an increase in the crouch sleed, and tbh you should be able to pick.up survivors and grab them from gens while crouching... idk why she has to stand to do so...

    I agree she should be able to grab while crouching…. A good survivor should be aware of their surroundings anyway. Her biggest advantage is being able to see the auras of survivors searching boxes… if they nerfed that I think some of these other buffs could work.

    you know what? That’s my bad. I don’t own the Pig so I don’t play as her, but I thought that aura reading was part of her base power and not an add-on. Thank you for correcting me!
