Is it just me or is everyone gen rushing....
I took a break for a week and come back to games that only last 5 minutes... I didn't change my build or anything and it is already anti-gen. Did they buff gens time?

There are no objectives to do but gens. I play killer for the most part and understand. Idk if they buffed gen time, sorry for not being able to answer, but.

To unlock a mask you need to unlock the gates and begin end game. Plus, 7000 points just for escaping so people want as much bloodpoints as possible from all the BP stacks.

true, true...though I would add new gears are common even off the event, so.

Add on that everyone is running prove thyself for points and there’s your answer

they want their hope. mft made hope really popular and also the stay injured stick to the closest gen in sight playstyle ft. resilience.

Doing gens grants you event points, I know I prioritize completing gens to maximize extra bloodpoints on top of the abundant Terrormisu offerings.
It'd be better if they added event points to breaking totems and getting safe unhooks, in my opinion.

What's your build?

Survivors finally realised they can win more by doing gens instead of just doing nothing.
I hope this continues on past the event. Having teammates doing gens for once is nice.

Once the event is over, a decent chunk of the experienced players will leave for a bit to play other games until the mid-chapter/PTB.
You have to think realistically, people have no reason to play when +535% BP isnt on the table after the Anniversary, especially when everyone knows that people will just hoard the event offerings.

When survivors are trying, they escape. This is the true state of DBD.
Once the event is over, you will see them throw the game again by chasing the killer with their flashlight and ask for nerfs.

And we will get to see you complain as well
7 -
Complain about what ? Survivors throwing the game ? Yes that can be annoying as soloQ but otherwise I don’t care.
The last time we got a situation like this was a lunar event if I remember correctly it was mandatory to escape to get a skin. Everyone was making a pikachu face about the gen rushing and mass survivor escapes.

We're in a gen rush meta. Second chances and spam healing are gone, so it's only natural that survivors now push gen speed to the max. On top of that, there is nothing stopping you or anyone else for that matter to run the best toolboxes every single game.
It doesn't get better when you consider how survivors get their event cosmetics. Survivors basically have to win the game to get their hands on them. All of that added together = 5 minutes games (some are way shorter).
The fastest I've seen, although that might have been a cheater was under 3 minutes. 4 BNPs can explain a lot but that was way too fast.

I've just stopped playing killer after collecting masks I wanted. Event has people either going after gens like crazy or trying to hide until the endgame. Not very fun.

Tunneling and Camping has again gone up after the last patch, so as solo survivor, your only chance is to do gens as fast as you can, because the first guy will be out of the match soon. If you didnt do 3 gens by then, you already lost the match, so thats what you do.
However, my guess is that more inexperienced players play killer since getting the skins doesnt require you to win, because when i play killer, games go as usual for me.

It's the event. Lots of older players come back for the anniversary then disappear again after it. You have to open the gates to get your cosmetic so naturally everyone is glued to gens. Maybe BHVR could consider changing the conditions around how survivors claim their masks.

Gen-rushing (properly) and ignoring hooks is kind of the standard way to play.
The answer is to tunnel, ensure a hook state by camping when appropriate (usually for 30 seconds).

You are probably just a little rusty tbh.

A bit surprised they don't do double BP weekends like nearly all other games do nowadays.
1 -
I remember that! One of the few occasions where survivors actually showed how strong doing gens is. Weirdly enough, soon after the event, survivors went back to... well what we have now.
2 -
It's not weird tho.
Good players always comes back when it's event or excited chapter. After event, they leaves and your average solo teammates starts to throw games again.
4 -
Yeah, you´re right.
I mean, i took a break after the last event. Because events can get so stressful. Lets see how this one goes.

If you don't get enough gens done by the time a killer tunnels the first person out the rest of the team is likely to die too.

u know everytime a gen get completed one baby meg is born? the more u know
2 -
I don't understand the event offering hoarding. Realistically, everyone should be DROWNING in them... Just... use them...

I wish I would get teammates that actually did gens. But most of teammates just die in 10 seconds and never touch a gen.
0 -
Well now it's anything that can slow down gens cause man there's no stopping them. It's crazy fast now
0 -
Did y’all think they would nerf healing and gen speeds? Lol.
