What are some underrated perks?
I know this post has been done 1000 times...but I've wanted to start using more perks to try have more fun (as I care very little about winning)
So gimme your underrated perks, if it be a build, or a certain perk on a specific killer.
Mine by the way is Coup De Grâce it can win you chases so easily and turn the game around.

I was prepared to share my survivor builds :(

For me, Smash Hit for Survivor (especially if you have a Stun the Killer-style Tome Challenge), and for Killer, not just a perk or build per se, but Zanshin Tactics on Artist is my go-to for aiming your power at chase breakers. Sometimes it'll be a perk spot sitter, and that's ok, because depending on the map, survivors playstyle, and if they have a heads up and run to safety areas early, its near-indispensable.
And when in doubt.... throw the pebble (Diversion).

Inner Healing+Overzealous
Cleanse totem. Do gen fast. Self-heal in 8 seconds through Sloppy. Repeat.

Share away, I want both survivor and killer builds, I'd love to try some of yours ^^
Coincidently I already run smash hit quite often as I feel the distance I can gain from it is invaluable. Same with Zanshin on Clown. However I never thought of running it on Artist, seems like a fun idea plus a good reason to try learn her :3
Also I asked for underrated perks Pebble is S tier smh my head :p
Considering Overzealous gets very little love, I really want to try this combo now. Might bring along small game to brush up on my totem spots (I've no clue where they are on the last few maps) but definitely a combo I wanna see for myself ^^

Overzealous + Inner Healing can be a really good combo I agree.
Personally atm I am trying to learn Flashlight saves, so I go with Background Player + Inner Focus, as I always have trouble discerning where the killer will turn to and I pair it with Residual Manifest (I don't bring Flashlights in the lobby, to avoid Lightborn) and also bring Plunderer's Instinct to find chests. It's definitely not efficient, but I would consider it a training wheels build for learning flashlights, unfortunately Inner Focus doesn't last that much, if only it lasted 2 more seconds.
I also tried to go for a Slippery Meat + renewal build (I don't have deliverance lol and renewal doesn't work with it anyway I believe), but it's quite hard to get renewal to activate, since you have to heal a complete health state alone, and if you double heal it's bad.

The first build sounds like a fun one to learn Flashlights with. Personally I'm rubbish with them so I'll consider trying this one out if I ever wanna practice ^^
The Second build definitely seems much more niche but I can see it working if everyone brings luck offerings ^^

I'm also bad with Flashlights, especially since I play on controller, it's so clunky to control them. Yesterday I got 2 saves. It's probably much better to bring your own item, I personally don't have many of them on some of my fav survivors so I rather not waste them (since I will probably die anyway), so I rather rely on getting them from chests.
Once I get paid I also wanna buy Yoichi and try Empathic Connection with MoM. Bought MoM when it was in the shrine a week or two ago, and tried running it with Bond, but teammates keep running away from you. I wish they'd use me for body block so I figured Empathic Connection might be more reliable. Will try it and let you know if I find more success with it than my other build.
Another one I wanna try is Smash Hit + Any Means Necessary. The idea of it basically is, you stun the killer and vault into them and run away with your speed boost, so as to incentivize them to chase you and leave the pallet alone so you can reset it later and reuse it.

Background player has turned into my favorite perk in the game. It's unreal how many flashlight and pallet saves this perk can get you. It feels so satisfying getting those saves from so far away. My go to build lately is Background Player, Iron will (to stay close if I'm injured), Bond (to let me know if I'm close enough to go for a save), and No One Left Behind (quickly turning into one of my favorites as well, I love going for stupid altruistic plays in end game).
No One Left Behind is a very underrated perk in my opinion if you can get to endgame. It's essentially a 3 in 1 perk if you make it to endgame. Gives you Botany, Aftercare, 4 stacks of desperate measures (unhooking wise), and also gives you double points for all these actions. The amount of times this perk has saved my team this event is unreal. You can also pair this perk with Desperate Measures to have an instant unhook build in endgame, and adrenaline and hope to have the ultimate end game buff build.

My advice to getting better at flashlight saves would be to pre-aim before you click so you don't have to adjust once you've started (this can be rather difficult on controller, but it's something that comes with time). I'd start by pre-aiming before you drop pallets for stuns so you can instantly blind once the stun starts. This is how I taught my friend and he used to never be able to hit them, he now consistently hits blinds and flash saves. If the killer is about to pick up, aim the middle of your screen at their head and you should have the angle the majority of the time.
Another tip for tougher angles is to try to crouch right when you start the blind, this can be the difference between hitting the angle and not and has gotten me plenty of saves I thought wouldn't be possible. Good luck!

Here are some examples if you’re a visual learner.

Open Handed. In my opinion Open Handed can be incredibly good and I'll die on that hill. Combine it with WoO and Bond and you have all the information you could ever need. Now put on an exhaustion perk and you're good to go.

The new perk troubleshooter
allows you to be unmindgameable for 6 seconds and you won’t accidentally run into the final Gen being completed that’s at like 95%

No Mither. It is an AMAZING stealth perk, has a huge amount of synergies, and throws a wrench into the killer's strategies by being an obvious anti-slug perk. It has the biggest downside of any perk in the game, but I sure as hell think it makes up for that! It is a solid high-risk, high-reward survivor perk in the right hands

To be honest I rather it gave you the ability to see the gen with the most progress at all times.

Just pray to RNG god you don't get matched with Oni.
1 -
Self-Aware It allows you to pull off some stupid tight fast vaults
1 -
That's what I try to do. Prepare it before I get there, but I still mess it up more often than not. I'm just really bad at discerning the side the killer is facing when picking up...

Lightweight for survivor and I'm happy it's underrated; I hate going against it.
It's a bit RNG with how it works but I've had killers lose me in normal wall loops. If you get lucky, your scratch marks can just disappear for like 3-4 seconds. Really noticeable on indoor maps if you get good RNG with it. Not sure how well it'll work with the scratchmark changes though.

Open Handed. Because knowledge is power.

Yeah that’s definitely a hard thing to get down, most killers will face towards the outside of the map. This is also why I love running background player so much

I'm a big fan of surveillance. It's hard to make room for it, though. Being able to know the moment someone hops on a gen is very powerful, especially if you have multiple gen regression perks like jolt\PR\Eruption.

For survivor, mine are: Deja Vu (prior to the current buff), Bite the Bullet, Blood Pact, Smash Hit, We'll Make It, Lightweight
As for killer: Dark Devotion, Forced Penance, Spies from the Shadows, Blood Echo, Darkness Revealed, Lightborn

We’ll Make It is so good. You can heal a person after unhook so quickly it’s awesome, and it lasts I think for a minute and a half.

Survivor -
Aftercare literally never leaves my builds. Seeing the aura of your other teammates gives you so much information about the game, where the chase is going on, where someone needs healing, where gens in progress are... And they see you as well, so they know not to bring the killer to you, or they can come to you for heals if needed. (Or communicate other things - I once had a solo survivor leave her gen and run in a circle to get my attention and motion for me to go unhook, when we were half a map apart !).
Bite the Bullet is fun but you likely won't get value out of it consistently. I still got some pretty stupid heals when I played it, like killer coming to hook a survivor in the area I was in, and walking right past the stone I was healing behind without a clue that I, an injured survivor, was there.
Rookie Spirit is also good if you need to know where gens are, and to prevent your team's work from being wasted to regression.
Alert is just an all around great perk.
Deja Vu, especially after it's recent change, is great. One of my weaknesses is never really knowing where gens are, and having constant knowledge of where your next objective is removes most of the fumbling that leads to loss of time.
Killer -
Spies From The Shadows is very underrated ! It was my best friend when I started playing killer and to this day, when I have a flexible perk slot in my build, I often take it. It's just great to know if someone is stealthing next to you, or where they're going if you lose line of sight at any point in chase.
Mad Grit is a pleasure when you think the team you're going against is gonna be altruistic. I'm very fond of it.
Surveillance is nice, especially in 3gen situations and paired with Jolt to make several gens regress at once.
I've gotten some value out of Hangman's Trick before.
Hex : Third Seal is a cruel, cruel perk but I've gotten so much value out of it. It's amazing. I stopped using it becauseI felt bad for the solo survivors, who can't do much about it.

Low Profile. The ability to zoom across the map without making sounds or leaving scratch marks whenever all other survivors are downed came in clutch so often for me. U can pick up ur slugged teammates or save persons from hook without worrying about sneaking. And it resets, so if u pick up ur teammtes and they get downed again, the perk reactivates and u again leave not scratch marks or sounds for 90 seconds.

Or bring a map with killer item tracking add on+map range. Big thing with that build is to not lose all your time finding totems

I like Surveillance and Oppression
Also Whispers
I don't play Survivor that much so IDK any perks that are underrated
0 -
I like running it with Detective’s Hunch which is just an all around great perk on its own.

Resurgence is a pretty good perk you don't see often. Bring a medkit with some extra charges in case the person who unhooks you doesn't heal you. If the person who unhooks you heals you at least once though, you'll still be able to get 1 medkit heal without the use of resurgence with the +12 charge addon. Reccomend +12 charges and +15% heal speed, having the medkit also means you won't have to worry about your resurgence getting ruined by hemorrhage unless the killer comes back to tunnel since you can just heal yourself the second you come off the hook
