These masks are wearing me thin
Every time I get enticed into playing DBD again, the supposed "SBMM" always does a good job at reminding me just how poor of a job it does matchmaking gamers together.
Now it goes without saying that as the night goes on the sweat gets more intense, but after 10 matches in a row of dying on hook (and not getting a single pip) from a killer way outside my team's league (I'm playing solo, so that doesn't help), I think it's fair to say that you can stick in fork in me because I'm done. LOL Worse, I couldn't even make it to an exit gate to be able to claim a single mask.
Anyone else having a rough go of it? Getting destroyed over and over again wouldn't be so bad if I could at least walk away with a mask, and not being able to just adds insult to injury. Too bad there's not a single player mode where these event items could be attainable.

I haven’t unlocked any as survivor. It seems best to just collect them as killer. It’s easier that way.

Best time to get them is the first few days of the event imo. Which sucks for those who aren't available to play then. I got them all in less than 20 survivor games. They're much easier to get as killer though, so killers will get them fast and any that were playing a bit more chill will go back to playing normally. As above, better off getting them as killer.

Yeah no joke. I hate killer games because they're nothing but a sweat fest, but knowing that I can just grab a scroll and then just go AFK for the rest of the match and still walk away with a mask is ridiculous.

In July 2022 I sampled random solo queue streams on Twitch and the average solo queue escape rate seemed to be around ~30%. This is my experience in solo as well. Although keep in mind, 30% average can mean you win 5/10 matches one day (50%), and then you lose 9 matches out of 10 the next day (10%).
I do not believe the official killrate of 60%, at least not for the vast majority of players. It has become comical that simple challenges like "escape 2 times with perk XYZ" or even "open the exit gates" have become so tedious that we regularly see people complain about them on the forum. I'm frustrated about solo queue and I don't even play to win, I can't imagine how it must be for people who actually try, lol.

I would say having 3+ survivors escape is probably about 30% in my solo queue games. I personally might escape a bit more by getting the hatch or managing to open a gate because I seem to be quite good at lasting to the end of game, but as a whole team it's definitely closer to the 30% mark.
I'm not convinced that the killer win rate is 60% either to be honest. I pretty much win about 90% of my games as killer these days and I hardly even play meta killers apart from Nurse from time to time. Even in that 10% of games I don't win I probably draw half the time also.
I think the problem really lies with solo queue players though. You could literally go on a 10 streak win playing killer by people DCing or suicide on the first hook because they don't like X killer.

I think what's even more disparaging is seeing DBD streamers upload fun matches they've had which incentivize other gamers to try the game out, only those gamers don't realize that in order for those streamers to have stumbled upon that single fun match, they played like 5 hours of tedious matches.

Yeah I just looked over my games for the last month and my solo escape rate is 28% for those 4 weeks. This doesn't include hatch though, as the game doesn't count hatch as an escape so I don't either.

Play a killer, you will get your masks without any problem.
