Will the F.O.V slider be available for both survivors and killers?
So im pretty hyped about a fov slider since you cant play stretched anymore ;-; and i was wondering if the fov will be available for survivors!

No, Survivors don't need bigger FOV. Strech res is advantage for Survivors and it was fixed some time ago beause many people were (ab)suing it. You can see killers over the walls on some loops while they can't see you, etc.

The fov slider is being added (mostly) as an accessibility feature for those with motion sickness. Plenty of people could not play killer without varying levels of nausea because of the FOV. Since thats an entire 50% of a 30$ game they are locked from, it was only fair to add FOV features.
I doubt survivors will have it. Stretched res was basically the same thing and was just unfair.

The question in the AMA specifically asked about killer FOV so it's likely that survivors won't be affected (which is good, the issue doesn't affect them).
Also, they didn't specifically confirm a FOV slider, just that they had a design in development to address the concerns about FOV-related motion sickness.
It could simply be an increase in the default killer FOV (basekit Shadowborn).

The only FOV slider surv would get is to decrease it. The way it is right now should be the highest it ever goes.

Well tbf stretched didn't allow you to see more than you already could. It just made it easier which I think is what people who were educated had the problem with.

I'm excited for the slider. I may not have motion sickness whatsoever but I loooove feeling fast. :>

You can't really do that for survivors without breaking the game. You would be able to see over obstacles and around corners that should block your view.
For killers this is not the case because the camera is based on a sphere with radius 0. Meaning, no matter where you try to turn your camera, you can't place it around a corner so that you would be able to see behind it.

You should look up some pictures of old stretch res
You could 100% see more then usuall and not by a small margin
You could even reveal ghostface from behind cover with it

Oh I've seen pictures of old stretched and its very exaggerated the advantage people were trying to claim it gave. It didn't allow you to see over loops you couldn't see over previously as that would require the camera to actually be farther away from the survivor model.

Yes you could, stretched res increased vertical field of view so you could see a lot more than you could at native resolution.
3 -
That's exactly what stretched res DID give.
Field of view works differently between first person and third person.
Third person, it actually moves the position of the camera.

Yea, it’s not even a debate. Stretched res gave a huge advantage.

Survivors play in 3rd person....why would you need a FOV?? Are you kidding right now? LMAO Killers in 1st player need it badly. I can only see half the screen with my weapon taking up the other half.
