Perk to Stop Breathing

So Im a little frustrated because all game some how, some way, killers are just BEELINEING to me. There's been a lot of games with aura revealing perks, and I ALWAYS run distortion, but because there's so many aura perks I dont always have all my stacks so I'll very calmly, quietly, and slowly get into a locker if I know something is about to pop like BBQ or whatever.

SO TELL ME HOW these killers are just taking the 1/40 shot and just COMING RIGHT TO ME.

I had a Knight running a chase nearby a gen I had just finished, and they were in chase with my friend. I always walk the maps so I walked over to the locker beacuse I saw my friend was gonna get downed and we still weren't sure his build so I slowly got into a locker maybe 30-40 meters away, near my completed loud af gen.

This knight just goes RIGHT to my locker. And pulls me out. End game we see he has 0 perks for aura or anything, its all gen regression. My friend says its because of "breathing", and Im like... OK, that is BS.

Im not injured, I hadn't ran anywhere so Jeff wasn't panting, I was next to a completed gen which are loud as hell, and its not like the knight saw me get in, there were at least 2 walls between us because he hooked my friend in a jungle gym.

If killers get like 6-7 perks that make them COMPLETELY SILENT then why don't survivors just get ONE?

We had Iron Will, which only fully worked if you were injured. It feels really unfair that I did everything RIGHT to keep off this Killer's Radar and they just magically found me.

Quick and Quiet is the only thing that will mute us now entirely, but there's nothing to be done for our breathing. I saw a Wraith earlier with Silent Bell and Plaything(why idk but dude really didnt want any sound being made, ever), and its like OK so you let the killers turn their volume down to 0, no breathing, but no the survivors?

It just feels super unfair. Killers have so many ways to completely cloak where they are but survivors can't even just BREATHE QUIETER?

And I play 50/50, so I can understand if maybe I was injured if he found me but no. perfectly healthy, no running, as quiet as jeff could possibly be.

it doesnt feel right that breathing makes me loud enough for a knight to be able to find me NEXT TO A LOUD GEN. even in my own headset i can barely hear my own character breathing

Just run. Locking hopping all game is a waste of time and can f your teammates over by getting them tunneled.

Lockers muffle your breathing so it's very unlikely that's why he found you. But there are numerous ways how he guessed right.

First and most obvious, you were next to a very loud gen aka one that clearly has been worked on. If you approuch a clearly worked on gen and there are zero scratchmarks anywhere searching a locker isn't a farfetched idea.

There are also crows on the map that are pretty obvious when you scare them. If the killer sees a crow fly off near a locker and there are no scratchmarks you don't need a degree in rocket science to figure what happened

Knight can also see through his orb which turns invisible to survivors after a distance but i assume you would have noticed the guard spawning so that's probably not it. Still worth a mention.

Remember you are facing real thinking humans that can reach conclussions of events they have not seen by thinking logically.

Reminds me of ppl who use lockers to counter my Doctor. I always use whispers on him, so if whispers is on but my static blast doesn't work... I'm checking lockers. Blows ppls minds, lol.

From the killers perspective they see a gen with progress with no scratchmarks or crows nearby disturbed, meaning only one thing: the person is still near

They said the gen was completed so it was weird the Killer went over there, my guess is crows were the snitch.

progress maybe, but completely finished? the gen was totally done, and had been done for like 15-20s. idk how often crows spawn, but the killer was in chase when i went into this locker. i kinda refuse to believe they noticed crows while chasing my friend but maybe

excuse you, i wasnt locker hopping. when going against doctors or knights that are 30m away from me in chase, excuse me for hopping into a locker ONCE to make sure i dont scream or immediately get exposed. but out of roughly 6 games, i went into lockers about 3 times, only once, and somehow the killer just KNEW. one time it was across the ENTIRE MAP and this doctor beelined to my locker after death-hooking my teammate. i think this exclusive instance there may have been hacks involved so im not really considering this a survivor breathing issue. but im also im not aware of any perks except maybe darkness revealed that tells them when im in a locker, but the killer didnt have darkness revealed.

distortion never leaves my side, so i always know when im being revealed. none of thse killers had aura perks on me, so thats why im totally baffled as to how they're finding me.

Its not that they would notice crows, but it could be the lack of crows flying away that could also be the giveaway

That being said I have no idea what map it is, what tile, what perks, add ons, etc. Guy could of just gotten lucky

It depends. Could sometimes be add-ons, killer instinct, crows, or insane headsets. Or could also be cheats/exploits.

It's hard to say what, exactly, it could've been when you've given us so little to work with. Aura-reading perks don't apply to people inside lockers, but perks like Stridor and Whispers give the killer an indication of your location. Spies from the Shadows gives a loud noise notification when a crow is disturbed.

Really need to know what perks the killer was running in order to make an accurate guess. Odds are he made a lucky guess.

To my recollection they only had gen regression perks. I was treating the game as if they had aura reading since so many killers are running things like Lethal and Nowehre to Hide. It was the Ormond map and while the killer was running in a nearby jungle-gym chasing my friend, I finished the gen and hopped into a locker around 10-15 feet away(walked, no Shift). The killer was behind a wall when they downed my friend, and I had already hopped into a locker. I stayed inside the entire time while my friend got hooked--and then the killer just beelined to me after the hook.

I could understand if there was a notification I did by sprinting, or scratch marks, etc--but none of those applied in this case. My friends in lobby with me also weren't sure how it could have happened unless this guy has whispers--end game shows, he didn't. So THEN they were like "he just heard you breathing" which is apparently a thing? but i got pretty decent headphones and I never hear survivors breathing loud enough to compete with a fully completed gen roaring 10 feet away. the completed gens are usually so loud i can hide within their range while injured to hide from a killer.

think there's only 1 game where i would call it cheats. doctor killer was at shack at penn and gave my friend death hook in basement, and I was half way across map behind main in a locker--with distortion, no injury, etc. so there's no way in hell he knew i could be there without cheats and since he got to me within like a couple seconds he had to of had cheats. we thought maybe he had a dredge perk but post game lobby showed he didnt have it.

Hmm, well it's possible the killer heard the sound of the locker doors and when they were nearby they could hear your breathing. That said, it could also just have been a lucky guess that was deduced from the gen having been completed and no sign of anyone leaving the immediate vicinity. No scratch marks means they're likely hiding nearby, and the most likely hiding place is a locker.

I mean it's a process of elimination; if a gen was just done, you were nearby and then nowhere to be seen, having left no scratch marks, there's only so many places you can be. And even creeping into a locker does make a distinct sound that can be annoyingly audible.
