Would love to be able to turn off chase music

Maybe it's just me, but while I enjoy chase music by itself, I'm not a fan of it actually being used in chases. When I'm trying to track somebody, it can become pretty difficult sometimes with the music blaring. At least, the track that plays for most killers. I don't like Docs, but at least it's more subdued, and thus, easier to handle. So, is there a reason why we can't turn it off?

Because we'd able to hear nearby Survivors. Gotta let them do their jukes or else they'll throw a tantrum.

Is it supposed to be loud enough to where you can't hear a Survivor when they're right by you or is that just the sound being bad? I had a Claudette (No Iron Will) come right up to me three times (she was trying the window trick) and not once did I hear her. I only caught her because I looked around.

They would never just let someone turn off the chase music. It's part of the way the game is balanced. If they ever did let you turn off chase music they would also lower volume of footsteps, breathing, grass movement, etc. to compensate.

I'd less like the the option to turn it off and more like them to just turn the volume down. It's way too loud.

I confess that I find the concept of drifting in circles to avoid the weapon of a murderous lunatic hilarious.

If they were to get rid of the chase music, then like the other guy said. They would have to make up for it with lower breathing & footsteps to keep it balanced. We can't keep turning the game even more in the killer's favor when it's already killer-sided & before anyone flips out, this game is supposed to be killer-sided. No fun easily escaping all the time. Another thing is, killers, complain a lot more than survivors do imo & the creators/devs defend the killers. Look at any post about dbd & you will see constant players complaining about survivors in the comments. Survivors complain as well, not saying they don't. Killer mains complain a lot though.

You can trivialize the chase music to an extent on PC with an equalizer like Peace API. It's why some Spirits on PC are an absolute nightmare. Amplifier+DAC+Equalizer and $1000 headphones.

Get a soundblaster Z off ebay. works wonders.

Honestly I wouldn't mind them lowering general sounds, even some of the injured sounds are way too loud. Chase music combined with other aspects makes it to where you HAVE to see the survivor to find them. My last killer match was exactly like that. As soon as I was in chase I couldn't hear ANYTHING except the music. Even when not in chase the music was loud enough that when I DID hear an injured survivor, I couldn't find them by sound. There were other issues going on as well. Lunging attacks either lagged just long enough for a miss or actually hit well after the survivor was out of range, screen went completely bonkers to where I had to NOT touch the controller on 3 occasions just to regain control of my character. Honestly it was a crazy mess.

Different chase music options would be cool
