this new killer is gonna make me throw up irl
uh so i have emetophobia (phobia of vomit) and im a pretty avid player of dbd lol, and i heard a lot of people complaining when the clown came out cuz of the phobia of clowns and sht and like found it dumb how people could be triggered by a video game character but after watching the dbd stream where they show off the powers and stuff, it acc made me feel sick to the stomach lol and i feel like im gonna have to insta dc or smthing if i see the plague in game cuz i dont wanna vomit all over my keyboard while im playing LOL
what do?

Play killer, then you will never encounter her

I'd try to disassociate the power with vomit if I was in your shoes. Convince myself it's actually toxic sludge, or acid, or something and keep telling myself that's what it actually is, until either I stop thinking of the power as vomit, or until I've seen it in game enough that I'm desensitized to it.

That's actually a real good idea and I could try that but just the fact that it looks so similiar to vomit still makes me feel very like uncomfortable and how the killer spews it out of her mouth. I'm sure it won't be as bad as an issue as I'm making it seem right now but I just want to make the precautions lmao.

Find a fountain

You could pretend the vomit is slime. Or oddly colored blood. Like the plague infected the blood.
5 -
People who had coulrophobia when the clown came out had the same concerns. Perhaps they can tell you how they get through it.
I don't think the vomit looks like real vomit...more like snot or slime. Maybe that will help to think of it that way?

Now we know where Kids' Choice Awards get their slime from.

You can imagine that it's just a movie, and it's just candy slime being dumped on the actors

Most of the killers play off of a common fear or horror trope.
I've been waiting for vomit/disease since they released another big fear, clowns, and I hope NEXT will be a favorite of mine.. spiders/bugs.

I don't have this phobia: But maybe a killer based on Trypophobia, (Don't look this phobia up on images)

Spongebob confirmed next killer

Candyman :o

God. I feel you... I suffer from emetophobia and while I love the new killer... her power holds me back from playing her. Not because of the color or the vomit itself but... probably the SFX of it. I just hate the sound of gagging!
But it's fine, I always tend to run away from people IRL when I hear them gagging. So I will probably do that very well in game... and that also counts survivors.

Couldn't help myself. I now have this phobia.

Hopefully the SFX for the vomit is a little exaggerated so it doesn't sound too realistic

Just think of the Plague as the Splatoon killer and it's all green ink.
2 -
Try to think of it as green water and not vomit

new killer seems a toxic master

This man's cooking with logic.

Take a bucket vomit all when you play after all you dont have nothing to vomit. You just can be thirsty after end play :D

They could potentially give trypophobic cosmetic to the Plague. Just imagine her diseased part rotting and end up holey.

Play the new killer for extra immersion

I have a phobia of internal parasites...I swear to god one day they are going to add a killer with something like this and I just..no..lol

The best part will be if her Mori has her hold your mouth open while she vomits down your throat.

It wont be just the killer, there will be survivors vomiting all over the place too lol.

When I seen it I thought of the episode of family guy

I guess you didn't take a closer look at Santa's skin?

This would be amazing if true. I haven't seen the mori yet

I don't have a vulnerability to vomit, but that would probably be enough to make me quit the game because it is simply disgusting and juvenile.
I can already see camping plagues just continually barfing all over the hooked the entire time.

And now you know why she will be my new killer main. Spreading plague has always been an awesome mechanic for me no matter the game.

Emetophobia, anyone? Just try to associate it with other things than Vomit, like a toxic sludge. I really hope we don’t hear her like “BLEGH”’Ing.

Think of it as Mountain Dew.
The Plague was thirsty and drank a bit but found out she doesn't like Mountain Dew so she just spits it out, but then forgets about it and drinks again

What’s the point of a vomiting killer if you don’t get the sound of the vomiting? Or the liquid splattering as it hits the ground... or the wet spats when people run through it...
1 -
oh GOD do not look this up. Go to Wikipedia if you're curious; it has one image of a lotus which freaks me out. A general google search will mess you up bad if you have this one.
BTW it's not an accepted phobia yet; it's not well-enough defined.

What's going to suck is, not only do you see her vomit on you... but then you as a survivor run around vomiting until you cleanse. I definitely feel for you and wish you luck in overcoming this.
If it launches and you find yourself unable to cope with it, I'd have to second the initial recommendation to take up Killer as main and steer clear entirely.

I will either find the killer comical or vile, we'll see once the PTB starts

To be honest, vomiting is a very cheap idea. Some putrid haze or fumes or whatever would have worked better.
There is quality horror (scary), and there is cheap horror (gross, gory, disgusting, etc). A vomiting creature clearly belongs to the latter. It would fit well with moronic "horror" games like Resident Evil, but it's so disappointing to see in dbd.
Vomit in horror is like farting in comedies. It's the creator telling you "uhh, sorry, I couldn't come up with good ideas, so I'm just going with the classics".
Fortunately, the other aspects of the new chapter seem nice. But I wish they had had something that fits the atmosphere better than puking.

Her Vomiting on survivors is probably the lamest thing in DBD right now.
If I could come up with something I would've let goo run through her body, then as she focuses her power through her other hand she hurls forward that goo through telekinesis and you'd see how she'd have less and less goo on her body as she continues to use the power in a single usage.

Since my username is Peasant, you can bet I will deliberately spend the whole trial plagued.

The Exorcist disagrees with you.

Disgusting and juvenile? I guess you haven't read up on the comment Dave made about one of her Ultra Rares.

the exorcist, a movie only gullible christians and weakhearted ppl think is scary.

I had the same concern. I don't really have a full phobia of vomit but when I hear gagging I gag as well so I'm concerned. I hope its not too bad.

@MhhBurgers I agree, The Exorcist is one of those highly overrated, "classic" horrors that aren't really worth much, aside from a few neat twists maybe.
Omen was so much better :)

Amazing? That would be grot as all hell! I know it's a horror game but... No need for that.
