Are vault hits super generous for anyone else?
I know Killers can hit over windows, but sometimes I'll be over a vault for almost a full second, and I still get hit anyway. Wesker especially seems to get ridiculous hits at windows, like I'll be over the vault and he'll still manage to grab me. Does this happen to you guys?

Yes, it's been very bad lately. Like every game. Very little phases me in this game, at least enough to get me to stop playing, but this absolutely does it for me. I used to get it once in awhile, and I assumed it was the killer using a VPN to gain an advantage, but surely that's not happening with every single killer. It has to be something on BHVRs end. It's really annoying me. It likely looks normal on the killer's end but on my end they're miles away from me and it makes it very hard to make judgement calls in chase.

Yeah you can clear the window and still get hit, it's insanely forgiving for killers atm.

Some of the servers are terrible right now, it doesn't seem to be everywhere but me and other people on the forum are experiencing 100+ ping lobbies. Every time I play killer I'm up against players from central America. I'm in the center of the US. Only on killer though.

I’ve read somewhere on twitter that vaults might be bugged and put you closer to the window after fast vaulting or something

Yeah I think servers are struggling with the influx of players during the event and its causing latency issues

I play both side pretty evenly, and I think it's been pretty evenly jacked up for both sides during the event. I think the servers are just a smoking hot mess right now; not just hilariously bad hit-related stuff, but all kinds of jank, both in game and in the menus.

Not only vaults. Pallet stun hits are also so generous lately. I don't know what's wrong with game tho.

yeah, it's been bad. had a wesker down me through a window when i was already inside the middle of shack and he was still turning the corner.. and had a pig teleporting and doing the same from how laggy they were. have also been going against survivors who are really laggy and i feel it as well. the servers were doing better when PTB went live but they're starting to get bad again. i also hit a nea through a pallet stun on wraith

I've been getting some absolutely stupid hits from my killer POV. Pretty much swinging at anything because it's all connecting. They've been really bad for a while. Noticeably bad on the survivor end too

Window hits have been broken in favor of killer side for years.
Just add it to the list of things BHVR won’t even acknowledge, much less address.

Recently experienced more of the killer side of that; window hits, regular hits - doesn't really matter. The times I hit a survivor just to find them quite a ways away from where I hit them is astounding (afaik usually you hit the surv in the position you see them but they are on the ground in their last location; and I got some teleporting survs there. feel honestly bad for the peeps. On their end it was a clean vault - but servers decided to do them dirty)

the game prioritizes the killers POV for those interactions
thats why its soo BS when the killer is laggy ,and as far as I know the Devs confirmed that they have no plans to add a "validation system" for that since there is some regions without actual dedicated servers close by (90 - 160 ms players) meaning if that was implemented it will hurt some killer players and make their experience worse about getting their hits rejected ; just because the devs dont want to actually set up servers on more regionsbut yeah survivor had to deal with those loong arms hits even when playing at 20 ms since dedicated servers came out , thats fair i guess?.On the bright side pallets had validation already which rejects the hits of the killers if hes lagging and you got the stun first on the servers screen, unlike windows where you are just forced to vault insanely earlier against laggy players because the game doesnt reject any killer hit on their POV on a window or pallet when vaulting unless the killer were having over 400 ms or more.
basically if the killer has more ping than you , you cant trust on vaults - skill issue-

I’ve noticed it going either way as both killer and survivor. Hits connecting when it visually, clearly shouldn’t have tend to occur more frequently (at least from my screen’s perspective) when I’m playing killer but I’ve noticed at least sometimes on both.
One thing I’ve also noticed is the downed survivor’s placement tends to not be exactly where I made the downing hit. This happens more in chase as after a vault there’s really only so far backward they could teleport before they’d be in the wall. It’s like there’s a separate tracked position for calculating whether a lunge hit to the positional info that feeds in to the visual of where a survivor or killer are on screen.

I can confirm that currently dedicated servers are dying because of the event , unlike PTB were the servers were working waaay better ; on LIVE every match has one of this :
bs hits connecting even visually on the killer screen and worse for the survivor ,many input delays , high ping lobbies , servers crashing every now and them all the suddent. wait untill the event its over and we'll see.

It's really bad.
And I'm getting pooled with people with just as bad ping. So 2 players must travel 180ms to eu and back. It's game breaking.

Yes, the window and pallet hits are very generous these days. On top of that i often see teammates with red ping bars. So i think the servers are struggling.

The way I learned it over the years (90 ping player,no packet loss) is this,if as a killer, you try to hit survivors while they are over the window but still in vault animation,then the hit will miss.
If you time your hit to land at the exact time the survivors feet touch the floor on the other side (end vault animation),then you will succesfully hurt them.
Makes sense? No,but it wasn't programmed to harm the crew after all.

If you have 90 ms ping and killer has 90 ms ping you can be hit from 0.72 meters behind you. And there's nothing that can be done about that, its connection lag.

I get it to some extent, the survivor's hitbox is at the feet so when the killer is close to the window at lunging it will result in a hit but still some hits are way beyond that even when the survivor and killer aren't lagging so I think it could be the server issue. Tbh I heard wesker grab is getting changed to a hit which is nice and fair imo.

Well there's always been a bit of discrepancy on hits, especially on windows. But the thing is, I'm also getting pallet hits pretty often, and that's usually much less forgiving than windows.
The last time hit detection was this noticeable was like, 2021, I want to say. I'm assuming something got borked during the most recent chapter.

Yeah the desync when trickster came out was awful, it was super funny to see all the complaints about killer queue time being incredibly long tho.
