Anyone knows what's wrong with players?
Like, the game's not fun and it's an event that's going on over here.
The killers for some reason 9/10 times instantly start returning to the hook after the unhook unless they found someone.
In the meantime survivors are allergic to generators.
Survivors are also afraid to drop a single pallet, while the killers either spam the same strategy over and over again, or do a mindgame so stupid that it actually works.
Lot of killers are camping and tunneling, meanwhile survivors instead of doing gens come for the unhook, and usually the game then goes from one injured-down-hooked survivor into multiple injured and one downed.
Not to mention that the killers also just for some reason have the need to be the most biggest jerk of all time, things like denying free hook and tunneling instead, going hard on when they are given either free hook or someone DCs, or the maniacs that for some reason find going in circles between 3 closest gens fun.
There's only a fraction of players that are actually playing for fun.

It's usually as a result of de-pipping (however you spell it) that people sweat each game from my observations. Once killers get to iri one they kind of relax with tunneling a little. Just a little.
The survivor stuff is just the beauty of MMR! 😍

I don't know but I've been playing for a while and haven't seen this level of toxic behavior ever. I got attacked in EGC yesterday for unhooking, healing and doing generators, got told I crouched (was waiting for killer to leave) and to uninstall and killer wasted two minutes hitting me on hook.
The survivors and the killer thought it was funny. I just offered them hugs and friendly chat back.
Other than that, I don't know, this event has brought out the worst in a lot of people. They take the game WAY too seriously.
I've been stalked, harassed and the worst of the worst. It's like, I'm sort of sorry but this game isn't my life, I try my best, I try to have fun and I don't care if I win or lose. I guess that's askin too much.

I don't think you can complain survivors are not playing well and not doing gens and then demand people play for fun.
Survivors doing gens is not a fun time for either survivor or killer, but it's the only way to win.
Obviously the survivors who play for fun will bring some combination of flashlight/blastmine/flashbang/head on combo and chase the killer and I doubt you'll have fun with them on your team.
This could all be mitigated if people had means to communicate. Then you could also join in on the fun if you felt like it, or if you felt like sweating you could also direct your teammates somewhat (some survivors just don't have the knowledge/experience playing vs certain strategies and it's not bad to be able to let them know stuff)
Your games are unfun because they are unco-ordinated.
I also get angry when I see two people on the same gen, one person trying to come for the unhook but then gets chased and the other two survivors are still immersed in their gen and I hit second stage. Or people doing the outermost gens while I'm trying to know the central gen that I know will make our game a lot easier and they keep bringing the killer here.
As for the killer going back to the unhook, yeah it's to be expected. I'd do the same thing if I had not found someone else by that time. You are guaranteed a second person there. If anything you should be just as annoyed at your teammates and the game's design offering no communication. The survivors should be baiting the killer away from the hook. I can understand being annoyed or frustrated when the killer is in chase with someone as you unhook and then he simply drops that chase and comes back, because he wasted 3 people's times and it's a net positive for the killer. It's hard to deal with.
But the other stuff are things that can be done if survivors were less scared of the killer, more experienced and had some sort of communication (this is a design flaw and falls on BHVR).

If they can't find someone to chase, going back to the hook is a good idea. You go from not knowing where anyone is to having a good idea of where 50% of people are.

That's just normal, if you don't find somebody why would keep doing nothing when you know exactly where at least 2 survivors are?
As for the general sweatiness and useless teammates, I'm afraid it's not an experience exclusive to the event

you need hooks and chases to pip, tunneling actually loses you some emblem progress
actually, if survivors understood the beauty of doing their job the game would be more fun,
because tell me what's more fun:
- chasing the killer for a while, getting downed, hooked, and eventually unhooked - 0 gens popped, barely any progress
- chasing the killer for a while, getting downed, hooked, and eventually unhooked - at least 1 gen pop or about to, or huge gen progress, varying by the playstyle of killer ofc
find survivor that's doing gens because it's one of their Emblem objectives?
really? because if I remember back in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, the game felt a lot better back then, at least compared to current gameplay feel with the event going on..

Oh yes tunneling & sweating in general has become much worse somewhat recently, but it's not going to stop when the event ends

There are survivors who don't care about winning. What you are describing is not the fun part of the game only, it's having both fun and winning/progressing the game. Some survivors find fun only in playing with their duo and blinding/flashlight saving each other. They don't care if it's to the detriment of their team. Maybe if their mate dies they also DC so they can enter another game. For them that is pure fun.
That's basically the point I am making. You can ask for players to play for fun and you'll get teammates as the ones illustrated above and maybe nicer killers who don't tunnel and camp (and they wouldn't feel the need to if more people played like the teammates with the flashlights, because 3k would be easy peasy). If you actually want to win then you're at odds already with the guys bringing flashlights and chasing the killer. I doubt you would enjoy getting them as teammates.
Basically you are not looking for a "fun" experience, you are looking for a way to make the game more "fun" in the sort of way YOU subjectively see as fun. Which is basically, why do killers try too much and why don't survivors try hard enough? But if you read around you'll see lots of people who find survivor fun (especially if it's killer replies) because it's chill and not stressful (which means they like not having to try hard enough).
I understand you find it more fun when you somewhat try hard (but not enough to run the most meta/broken stuff on survivor and play 4man SWF) instead of goofing around and not caring about the end result. Your way of having "fun" though is not universal unfortunately, although I think it's the most common one.
As for the game being more fun in the past, all games get stale the more you play them. And if you adjust to how a game it's played maybe that game gets changed and what you knew doesn't work anymore and you feel washed up and can't keep up (I know I feel like that with League of Legends nowadays). And this being the event also means there are people coming back who have dropped the game for some time and play in a less than favorable way or efficient way. (maybe back when they played killers weren't as cutthroat and they could win games just fine even if they spent 5 mins goofing around or something).

I don't know man, just got off a game against killer, that literally switches from chasing me to down an afk player, and guess what happens next,
at 5 gens, the killer camped an afk player......
I guess man's asking too much not to have killer 4k at every match, literally, 4k 4k 4k,
any killer any map any prestige, 4k, DC, 4k, noob survivor, 4k, instant unhooker, 4k, camper, 4k, 8 hooks at 5 gens remaining, 4k,
the "fun" you are describing, is no fun, that's literally goofing around, the thing you're describing as "fun" is as fun as going outside in the rain and trying to swim in the mud

It's pretty cringe when they down the AFK player, although I don't want to play with that player either cause he just made the game unwinnable for survivors. It's also cringe when they keep going after the weakest player who has less than a 100 hours in.

ah yes, and survivors just hang around unhook locations, because that's their objective, to waste time under hook, not doing gens and escaping 💀
I get the enjoyment towards killing and 4k, but I'd rather personally get kills and 4k without using cringe tactics.

Not 100%. If you patrol your gens you’ll find survivors. You’ll even find the survivor you hooked so you can hook them again.

This is actually pretty normal. Why should I keep patrolling and possibly find no one when I can just go back to where I know theres at least 2 survivors? It's not tunnelling (Unless it's explicitly to chase the guy on hook) just smart gameplay.

If you patrol gens you might find a survivor or two, depends on RNG.
If you go back to hook you WILL find survivors.
Anyone who even remotely trying to play "serious" would choose to go hook, rather than gens.

I'm sure it's very hard to tell when there's a Claud with less than prestige 3 that goes down in 10 seconds in a chase. It's obvious they're smurfing.

I never said it was fun, just smart. With how much gen regression is usually needed to bring gen times to managable levels at higher MMRs, aura perks are hard to fit in.

I don’t wanna hear anyone complain about gens getting done when you’d rather hang around hooks than do what you should be doing. There’s a difference between playing seriously and playing strategically btw.

It’s the nature of the game, and IMO why it can be so frustrating at times. The game is async in both player count and fundamental ‘team’ abilities. It’s like if dodgeball had no back and forth but one side always pelted the other with balls and the other side could only earn points by avoiding them but could never throw one back. One side is entirely defense with no offense so there’s no back and forth like most other games. I tend to enjoy killer more than survivor but play whichever has the BP bonus. Killer matches can be frustrating with particularly slippery survivors but I never feel like I’m getting railed quite like a survivor match that’s playing poorly. I mean what are the survivors going to do - click their flashlights at me? Yes, that’s certainly the same as getting tunneled out of the game. 🙄
Basically killers have an oversized ability to make the survivors miserable if they want. It’s just the game.
