A Interesting, Unique, and Fun Change Proposal for Shattered Hope

I will quickly list the change here and put a separate explanation separated below for those that don't care about the reasoning. Change:

  1. Shattered Hope keeps current effect exactly as it is.
  2. Shattered Hope receives a new, secondary effect - You can destroy your own Hex totems in the same fashion as boon totems twice per trial.
  3. Limitation to new effect: Any Hexes that activate upon destruction can only be activated through these means and at half effect once Shattered Hope has been used during the trial.

Explanation:

Shattered Hope is arguably the weakest perk in Dead by Daylight with no purpose or identity beyond its conditional use when boons are used by survivors. No boons, no perk use. This leaves the only option to buff this perk as a complete shift and base game change or adding a new effect.

The effect listed above adds synergy with two specific perks that also may never activate without survivor choice (Haunted Grounds and Pentimento). This would run rampant and be OP without limits which is why the changes would also make the activation of those Hexes happen with killer input at half effect. The limit of only twice per match also limits pentimento from affecting more than gen speed and healing. This allows Pentimento to be an early game perk instead of a late game perk.

So the only reason to run it would be he very limited aura reading effect? And you would get this by getting rid of one of your own Hex perks? But you couldn't use it to proc Pentimento or Hunted Grounds? And its also limited to 2 uses, when the max you could use it anyway were 3 times due to perk slots?

Sorry, but that would make the perk probably even worse. If you could snuff one of your own perk in order to expose all survivors in range, even then it would be extremely risky and situational, but just aura reading? Why not run NowhereToHide then and keep all your hexes?

No, you could proc haunted grounds yourself at half the effect. You could proc pentimento yourself at half the effect. Also, you could only get two pentimento stacks for the whole match instead of being able to make a full hex build, destroy them all yourself, and then make permanent pentimento (as this would be broken so it had to be accounted for).

Numbers and downsides could be changed but the idea is that it is a perk that lets you destroy boon totems and the new effect allows you to also destroy hexes at half the effect of a survivor destroying them. It makes the perk have another use if you decide to run it and boons aren't present. It is an objective buff but whether or not it is enough is the question.
