Cenobite is too strong.

When I pick the box, why chain hunting is still activating? That's too strong!!!

I don't know about too strong, but Pinhead is definitely the most annoying killer for me.

I'd rather face a good Blight or Nurse than the Cenobite.

The chains definitely should cease while someone tries to solve the box. It's not clear to many that you have to time starting to solve it.

It can definitely be annoying if you pickup the box and then the chains come, however the chains should come intermittently, which means you can only really solve the box after dodging a chain from the box. Next time you face Cenobite try waiting the chains out when you pickup the box and then solve the box when the chains are dodged, but dont wait too long as the next chains are coming sooner or later. Tell us how it goes.

To be frank, I love playing as Pinhead, but don't really like going against him (but he's nowhere near so bad as knight or skull merchant). He is a little annoying with his box.

As for chain hunt activating, that's a good thing. You shouldn't ignore it. This forces you to pick it up before time runs out.

But there's a bug in a game, where chains don't go for some survivors for limited time and at the same time they can go for a survivor that's solving a box (It's not super common, but it still does happen).

This being said, usually chains hitting survivor is survivor's mistake. You can reliably (provided you are not bugged - but again this bug is rare) solve the cube by waiting for 3rd chain and then start, or if you are a little advanced - by starting to solve the box before dodged chain hits ground (meaning you kind-of pre-dodge the chain and start solving it while it still flies, but after it will no longer hit you).

As for him being too strong - well I think he's in a right spot. If you are able to dodge the chains (skillful interaction between you and killer), then he's just very slow M1 killer. If he does not have impaling wire, there are quite a lot of obstacles where his power does nothing (aka, slow him down more then survivor)

This might help, if you are struggling.

During chain hunt, the chains always go waves of 3, so when you pick up the box, count until you have dodged 3 chains and then start working on the box.

Basically if you are working on the box you will not attacked by chains, but if you are in the middle of a wave of chains then they will still attack you and interrupt you.

Also, if you are the only survivor not downed, killed or on hook, NEVER do the box, chain hunt can never start when there is only one survivor up.

And as I wrote just before you - if you can pre-dodge the chain, you don't even need to wait for 3rd one

I actually like dodging the game's chain(s) and his chain. It adds a level of complexity that hasn't been used before.

That happens so you can't just keep the box and do gens once a chain hunt started (=timer is full). It also happens when the timer is not full but it is at a so slow frequency that you have no problems solving.

I recommend you running to the box when the timer is about 2/3 full so you have enough time to solve it without getting problems with the chains.

If for what reason you could not solve the box before a hunt started, you need to stand still let 3 chains spawn. You get rid of them and then you can solve it in peace.

You should also keep the terrain in mind where you solve the box just in case that Pinhead teleports to you.
