Deerstalker is meta now.
This perk has just been free kills all morning.

Don't post stuff like that next thing you see is that Nic's perk offer aura immunity when downed.

Actually seems fair to me.

Hope the immunity comes with a free adult sized diaper model on the perk user.

Well, I'm not too worried. Deerstalker won't be an S-tier perk two weeks from now. With two Nichloas Cages in every lobby and all of them wanting to try out the new perks, though, it's a lot of fun today.
If they want to avoid my Deerstalker, they can run Distortion or hide in a corner of a map before healing (two Nichloases did this, and it worked for one of them) to waste my time or even avoid being found altogether.
I don't think it's fair to remove the only counterplay that perk has (which also requires me to waste an entire perk slot in hopes that somebody's running it). Slugging yourself for a free heal is supposed to be risky, not a guaranteed thing. Survivors will eventually figure out how to use it efficiently.

Distortion doesn't work in the dying state.

I would argue that it isn't a "free" heal. It costs one perk slot and putting yourself in an extremely vulnerable state for a not insignificant amount of time. If the goal was purely to heal yourself then Inner Strength is a better choice as it takes less time and can be used more frequently in a trial.

Doubt it. For the next couple weeks maybe, but once the novelty of Cage's perks wears off we'll see it less and less.

What makes it any different than before?

Survivor will using perk to let themselves fall down now.

Damn. Plot Twist. That explains a few things.
Does that count as a hook state?

Not immediately, but if the killer finds you they can just pick you up. And Deerstalker makes that a lot easier.

Deerstalker has been pretty outdated for a while. Wish they’d buff it’s range to map wide and build on a 20% reduced recovery speed to keep it up with modern perks.
Plot Twist having aura reading immunity as well doesn’t sound unreasonable.

Lol I swear if they nerfed deerstalker I would uninstall just because they focused time and resources on something that ridiculous

It's been two days, you can't build a meta in two days, people are just having fun with Plot Twist and killers are probably fed up of being trolled.
It'll level out in a few days.
PS: if you plot twist in my face I'm gonna relentlessly nod my head at you in approval. God bless this perk

Deerstalker itself is fine, its just the best way to use it is not viable.

In 10k hours on this game I can't think of a single time I'd wished I had Deerstalker on. Even in its best case scenario, there are still just tons of better perks by a mile.
Seems way outdated to me. There should be times or builds where I'm like yeah this perk is shining and this scenario made it better than other options. That just hasn't been a thing for yearssss.

Lol there's literally no way Deerstalker is worth carrying in the long run. Maybe right now because everybody is running the perk, but most people will eventually return to the meta or their favorites and you will have wasted a perk slot 95% of the time.
Personally I'm not dropping into the dying state right next to the killer anyway so it wouldn't even work against me.

The first couple times I thought "######### I didn't hit you" 🤣
But yeah, I don't see it near enough to run Deerstalker. I think the OP got some games where people were toying with it.

The success is based off survivor actions and the fact killers know a good majority are test a perk that has a counter perk.
